That's why i hope the Koreans will stay closed on themselves, just like in SC1.
They are just too exotic to us to understand WTF do they want...
Let them play in their own playground, so we can have the REAL e-sports!

Sad news...is Sen still playing?

Sen is Taiwanese and on a foreign team, i don't see how this affects him...

Its pretty clear that the money is not the problem here. Maybe playing at un-convinient hours and having a high latency are the real issues.

maybe NASL has stigma cus a foreigner team picked up a korean player during the event

It seems Koreans are getting greedy it is a privilege not a right to compete in foreign events like the NASL and MLG give there spots to some hard working non Koreans instead.
Id rather just kill you and call it a day.

I don't think this is a matter of each side being stubborn and etc. I think the ulterior purpose is to take Koreans out of NASL, or at least reduce the number of them. We know that we want pure NA league. At this rate season2 would have more than half Koreans for the main tournament and season3 would be new GSL taken in America. It's hard to judge who's being an ass, just by reading the post from one side, but I doubt there would be this kind of business issue if there are just a small portion of Koreans participated.

of course it would be less of an issue if there were less koreans entering. but if they have to pay for an entire tournament bracket of Korean players travel expenses that ads up pretty fast. i really doubt that it has anything to do with making it a pure NA league.

you know, until i read Mr. Chae's side of things, i will only believe half of what NASL say.

OK so if they can't afford to travel to this event, how can SlayerS afford to travel to MLG?? I hope they show up to Ralleigh ):

This sucks of course but still super excited to watch NASL. So many games last season was amazing and this one will be even better. Wonder if NaDa and MC can still play with their SK Gaming deal.

tbh good for the Koreans for sticking to their guns.

Has anyone here auctally tried to caculate the cost of a 1 week trip to cali from seoul and back. its damn expensive. Being almost 3k with hotel and airfare and such. For the chance at $500, which would still lose them $500 if NASL paid 2k.

I can understand why the teams would do this tbh. They are not in a healthy state in Korea and of course they would want people to pay, since they can't temselves.

I have a question, is there any foreign tournament that DOES pay 100% of travel accomodations (lodging, food ect)?

$1000 for travel and a minimum of $1000 prize, and the Korean teams still decline? I have a feeling that either there's another side to this story, or the teams are declining for reasons other than expense.

I was hoping that NASL would improve each season, but even though this specific factor is out of their control, it's not worth watching for me anymore.

This is so not cool. I'd be curious to hear more of their side of it, but to agree to the terms of the tournament, and then to make demands at the last minute is borderline extortion.

why did the sc2kespa decide for all the teams? shouldn't individual players decide? or maybe i am reading this wrong.

Bit odd that a big business rival to the NASL handles all negotiations between teams and the NASL. Seems suspicious to me.

For me, NASL just got a lot more interesting.

Koreans would have dominated season 2 so hard, it wouldn't have been even funny.

I really want Koreans to participate. I'm happy that we get a couple to participate but I wonder what FXO is going to do! In my eyes, there's about a 50% chance that FXO will participate depending if they are binding to SC2Con or not.

NASL, can you please explain why you couldn't take the requested travel costs out of the prize pool?
do you have enough resolve, hero of justice?
