Personally, I am really liking their casting and think they have great chemistry already. Good mix of play-by-play by Doa and analysis from Wolf. And I like their nerd baller jokes.
My personal favourites have been the proplayer casting at Homestory Cup because I really liked the in-depth analytical commentary. However, unlike some of the other TLers here, I am really not that picky regarding casters and have yet to have watched a cast I truly disliked except Kellys very first stuff, purely coz there was just no knowledge behind it.

They're ruining esports!
Jokes aside, <3 Dolf.

I wish TorcH would do more casting. I love that guy.

they are rly funny but their game knowledge is lacking.
but still the best code a duo we had.

I really liked Doa/moletrap but moletrap cut off Doa a bit too much for my liking. Doa and Wolf mix really well.

As I said in the OP, I liked the Homestory Cup casting the most because it was really analytical and knowledgeable, but I would disagree with CEPEHDREI, Wolf really knows what he's talking about.
I nominate D'oh!Wolf as the Comboname. No criticism or anything intended, havent even seen them commentate yet.

I really think this is the duo they should keep around. A lot of the other Code A duos have been good and fairly entertaining, but this one just seems the most stable.

imho better than tastosis :O

I would say him and Artosis are about equal, really. The thing that makes Tastosis great is their chemistry; as far as game knowledge goes, Doa+Wolf is easily comparable.
If today's GSTL and the code A qualifiers are any indication, I think they'll make a fantastic duo. Much better than any other code A combo we've had so far, at least.

I guess the proper saying would be that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts? As solo casters Doa and Wolf are inoffensive but boring. Together they have great chemistry together. They're not Tastosis and that's a good thing because each casting duo should bring something different to the table. Code A and the GSTL feels very relaxed and I like it that way.
I like these two, the seem to fit well, Doa prevents wolf from going off on a tangent trying to be extra funny, and wolf brings in the technical knowledge that Doa doesnt have. They seem like a nice chill combo.
I'm liking it so far, may need a bit more time to get used to. The only irk I get is that their voices are very similar at times.
Wow my dislike for DoA must have come from that other kid he was casting with, cos he's totally fine with Wolf. I can't choose between Unstable/Wolf or DOA/Wolf.
Dolf is the best. I am looking forward to Code A as much as Code S this season. And that is not something I have been able to say truthfully in the past.

wolf is great but doa... i dont know
doa is the most generic boring caster ever.
Why do you guys come up with such bad nicknames for co-casters?
I MISS MOLETRAP AND DOA!
I like them both and I really like Doa, so I am glad they are together. Wolf does really good analysis, I just can't stand his voice sometimes. He seems to start out kind of quiet or monotone before the game. Usually when it starts he changes it to be better though.
Unstables in game casting was some of the best, but struggled to fill time between the games. I'll watch a few more casts before I jump on the Dolf bandwagon
Doa + Wolf = Dolf..in ...
Don't really have any complaints with this casting duo. With each cast they improve, so it's great to see good casters get even better!
Woa was available as a duo name and you guys are going for Dolf? lol.
People keep trying to find names for the groups of code A casters but the only casting Archon is Tastosis :>. Wolf and Doa are the best code A combo so far though!
Doa + wolf = Woaf.
Loved their casting at GSL today.

i originally thought the poll was for what we should call them ^_-
answer was the same for both

I really like the combination. Doa has only been back in Korea for a few days and they are already comfortable and relaxed with eachother. As they spend more time together, it can only get better.
They did great today in GSTL, looking forward to seeing more from them.

Best pair-up with Wolf so far, considering moletrap, lone-wolf, and unstable.

I like wolf
not sure i like him when he does his 'artosis mode' ... but hes a solid caster, was very impressedw ith his solo stuff on gsl

On August 04 2011 20:22 zaii wrote: I miss lone wolf
Lone wolf was like the saddest thing ever....
Just watching him trying to entertain us, making jokes when there's nobody there to laugh at them... at least when day9 does it he's allowed to go on a 5 minute tangent away from the game and laugh about it, but Wolf needs to throw it out quick and keep watching... Sitting in between both screens, with his chair so far back he starts to hunch his back...
I think it's great to have Doa, if just so that there will be no more lone wolf.
Doa is amazing and Wolf is still learning but he's still awesome!!!!
You can't make an option that is so much better than the others, people (like me) will vote for that option regardless of their opinion. They've lost their passion! They're ruining Esports! is at least three times as good as any of the other options.
I actually havn't watched this combination (I don't watch code A or S prior to finals), that I know of. I don't know who Doa is so can't comment on it.
As long as you ignore the scrubs on gomtv chat and such, this is the best duo that they could have made possible. I'm pretty sure this is a fairly permanent position for both Doa/Wolf (especially since Doa moved back to Korea with wife etc).
Better than Tastosis by a mile.
Really great, best duo they've had so far.
they mesh very well! I like the doa/wolf combo!
for me they will now be called the "Dolf" :D
Wolf/Torch and Wolf/Doa are my two favourite Casting Duos they ever had in Code A. The cast Code A had for the last months lacked professionalism.
I only half-listened to them but I didn't hear anything that really annoyed me.
Seems ok so far!
Wolf, great - Doa, not so much. But i shouldn't say more or else i'll probably get in trouble.
Love wolf, love doa - glad doa is back.
i'd say that wolf are pretty good and really deservs to be there... but im one of those strange guys who dont watch GSL to learn.. i watch it to enjoy myself so whenever i tune in i really really miss moletrap and i wish that he was still there... id also love it if diggity went there or nukethestars...
But when it come's to starcraft 2 comentating nothing beats day9, Apollo, totallbuiscuit artosis, HDstarcraft ^__^ they are just what gets me all hot and botherd... dont really care about what anyone else things so i really think this thread is bad and are only out to judge people who SUPORT E-sports!!!
Not really a fan of Wolf, i just dont think he brings anything to the table other than a constant stream of bad jokes
Solid team. There have been some failed experiments at GOM, so hopefully we will see these guys for a few months at the very least.
Love DoA, somewhat iffy about Wolf but together the best duo we've had. The only problem i see is how is DoA gonna be in Korea as an permanent caster considering he has a wife in NA?
All duo casters do not need a cute combination of their names. This is just cheesy and forced.

My thoughts exactly. I really hope the GSL decides to stick with this pairing.

Wolf is to enthusiastic and happy to ever not be a great caster.
Dolf felt a little awkward in the Code A quals but hey, first time together in what wasn't exactly the highest production value streaming the GSL has ever done and they were still very enjoyable if a little silly.
I'm digging it.
It has the potential to be the best pair so far in Code A.
I think Wolf is an incredible caster, he even managed to pull off Lone Wolf pretty well but DoA seems like a really great partner to pair him with.

Game knowledge?
Wolf is Masters. So is Artosis Doa isn't very good. Tasteless too
They are doing fine. They can predict builds fine and know most major indicators.
I have to say, I absolutely love when Wolf goes apeshit when a player makes COMPLETELY terrible mistakes.
For instance, Ganzi vs HongUn when Ganzi didn't repair the bunker, or later on when HongUn kept flying his phoenixes straight over packs of marines. Wolf sometimes is even harsher than Artosis in this respect and its really fun to see sometimes.
Now if he could apply the emotion he gets when bad things happen to the same degree when good things happen, he'd be even better.

Im confused by this. Are you saying Tasteless isnt very good at the game or at game knowledge?
I never watch gsl and I stayed up to watch it last night and I was hoping for tastosis but was pleasantly surprised by wolf/doa.
Nice job guys.
I dislike wolf. He's humorless and dry most of the time, and then he'll crack a joke that just falls flat with me and I have to groan. Not sure what the rest of you like about him so much when there are guys like Day[9], Tasteless, and Artosis demonstrating that you can be deeply knowledgeable as well as entertaining.
You guys are all forgetting, the best code A duo we had was Tastosis in the january season. Obviously they can't cast every single gsl game, and perhaps Doa/Wolf is the best combo since then, but that isnt' saying much for me. I've been muting all the code A casters except when Torch casts or that one QXC cast. My problem with Doa/Wolf is that they're the same guy to me, they do the same Tastosis mimicing, their casting style is similar, they even look alike. When wolf first started casting I forgot that he wasn't Doa.
I get the feeling that Wolf tries to emulate Artosis as much as possible, and it irritates me. The way he articulates himself, his cutesy demeanor, and his constant use of "Oh that'd be like -so and so- and then like -whateverrrr-!"
Iunno. Be your own man, man!
Their name shall be Woalf
Dolf sounds retarded, Woa is better
I'm not the biggest fan of Doa. I thought he was okay as he's got a good voice and it's not necessary to have 2 analytical casters, but Doa sometimes likes to venture outside of his play-by-play boundary and make rather amusing calls.
"Killer's gonna GG any second now" -Five seconds later July: GG "Oh I thought July had that"
"I think Killer's got this" -Five seconds later Killer: GG
Great combo, I don't think we could've asked for better (but I think even Kelly with Wolf would be great as well). Doa does a lot better with Wolf, his jokes sound more natural and he seems a lot more comfortable.

I actually really love wolfs casting.. And my favorite pair was probably wolf and unstable (besides tastosis) but, Wolf/Doa is a really good group too.
I like that Wolf has finally slowed down on the forced, really bad, corny jokes. I want his analysis when he casts, like in the video he did with Artosis.
Great casting just as op said with the play-by-play and analysis. Also their chemistry is really good and way better than you see from people who have casted together for such a short time. Overall they're just really good and definitely the best duo yet in code a. A keeper for sure.
I want Torch back
Easily the best Code A pair so far.
Wolf + Anyone else is a great combo honestly.
Wolf fighting!
I don't really care for them that much, I can't really listen to other casters other than tastosis, they are without a doubt a level or two ahead of all other casters.
I prefer Wolf+Torch but they're doing fine, wouldn't mind seeing them permanently.
This duo is really good in my opinion. Definitely my favourite duo so far. If the quality of the casters is good- i will watch, no matter how bad are the players. For example, if Tastosis still casted code a, i would totally tune it. This is by far the best duo GOM has paired(besides Tastosis).

Don't much care for wolf. His jokes are quite irritating. Glad Doa is back though, he comes across as very chill. I'd say this pair is <= Moletrap/Doa. Not bad, but could be better. Give Wolf the boots and fly Khaldor in!

They aren't terrible but they are the most milquetoast casters available. Almost any popular caster has more personality than either of them. Nonetheless I wish them the best and they are getting better.

They're pretty good, but I still want to see Khaldor casting with Wolf more than anything.

Love them. Second favorite casting duo after Tastosis.

On August 04 2011 20:31 Mikilatov wrote: Best 'Code A' duo possible, imo. 100% agree with that. We only have seen 3 days of them, but they work well together (and I think doing 2 days of 10 hours casting has "bootcamped" them). This is the first a caster with Wolf (except QXC) that Wolf actually interact with, they discuss and not just talk a turn each like doatrap or wolfanyone. it's important for a caster duo to no just say some stuff a turn each, it helps building an extra layer above the game. I enjoyed them (but usually we (the community) always enjoy caster debuts then progressively hate them so wait and see)

Wolf as always was just awesome today. Doa did pretty well too, if it stays like this I'd be happy.

Wolf is just the best caster imo, but tastosis as a pair is better than wolf+anyone so far. Doa+wolf is so much better than doa+anyone or wolf+anyone(except qxc) though.
Doa+wolf+john triple cast, make it happen.

i want wolf + different person.
doa doesn't know anything! its hard to take wany analysis seriously. and anyone can do play by play really.
Dolf is by far the best we have had.
Awesome combo. Doa really shines without Moletrap (no offense to Moletrap). This is the best Code A caster combo so far by a long shot. I think that when they get used to each other, they could easily be as good as Tasteless and Artosis.
Wolf and Doa both bother me with their insincerity. Also both have a tendency to non-stop crib Tastosis jokes and mannerisms.
Either one would be tolerable with an analytical straight man sidekick, more annoying than usual to pair them with each other.
Liking it so far.. I mean there have been times when I have not watched some code A games b/c of casters. These 2 don't make me instantly miss dan/nick so thats a good thing.
Wolf: Passionate about the game, biased as hell, and a decent player makes for a superb caster. One small irk of mine: please stop using the word 'impossible' in your casting.
Doa: Great casting voice, works well with other casters, makes 'safe' observations about the game without getting too technical and running the risk of being wrong. Could work on your energy a little bit at times. Would love to see you take a similar approach to Day9 in the way he lowers/raises his voice to match the tension of the game, as I think way too many casters are monotone. HD/TB are also good at this.
Keep up the good work guys.
On August 05 2011 08:09 iCCup.Raelcun wrote: Wolf and Doa by themselves aren't a problem but together was an endless vortex of bad jokes that was impossible to escape from. @.@ I would have to agree they tell too many bad jokes. Stories are ok, and insight on players (wolf has a lot of this) should be the main focus, they need to try and trim the bad jokes all the time. That said even though there is room for improvement I'm not sure who you would rather have in their place? Kelly, moletrap, gunrun lol? They were all much worse in basically every aspect and made terrible jokes all the time as well (gunrun only had one broadcast to be fair, but personally I thought that was the worst performance of any GSL caster ever, no offense to him as a person or what he has done to encourage growth in the community, just talking about his casting).
Dolf sounds like a dwarven name lol. But no I like the underlying synergy of their casting style. Wolf and Doa are both individually good casters, and together, they don't really lose any of their appeal.
Nickname should be "Whoa!" imo. sounds better than "Dolfa"
They rule though.

I picked: "Pretty cool, GSL have done much worse"
Doa is already a permanent caster since he moved there and they brought him back, so he's not going anywhere I think. I like Wolf a lot, he kind of reminds me of Artosis. Doa can get a bit too chatty for my liking but he's above average and better than past casters.
As said in the previous post, I find Wolf similar to Artosis as well especially in terms of insight and game knowledge. Except, unlike Artosis, I find he does not give his co-caster enough respect as several times he tends to cuts in and interrupt his co-caster as he's about to speak. Reason why I think people appreciate tastosis so much is because of the well balanced chemistry they have on camera.
Wolf tends to laugh at his own jokes a lot awkwardly and has trouble following on from his co-casters humorous remarks or critical game insight, overall ending up with a slightly awkward tension between the two. I am purely going off from what Ive seen of his casting on gsl and gstl and not his previous tourneys.

I'm pretty sure cutting off Doa is because they haven't been co-casting with each other that long so they don't know when the other is going to stop talking like tastosis does. I'd be surprised if that didn't stop once they have more experience with each other.
Maybe it's just me, but I always found Wolf's analysis kinda weird. I can't really explain it better than that, but it seems to me like a lot of his analysis doesn't make intuitive sense (especially the toss stuff). Maybe it's just my lack of experience with playing toss, IDK.
Doa + Wolf did a good job together. I could hardly tell them apart since they sound so similar though. Only through Wolf's "accent" (for lack of a better word) could I tell lol. I still like Pirate Wolf the best, though I wouldn't ask QXC to give up playing to cast for that reason.

I agree, tasteless do NOT have better knowledge than wolf for the simple reason that he doesn't even play sc2 that much from what i hear.

tastosis forever <3
But i like Dolfa too <3
But i like John the best. Hes the king of games.

I like the Wolf-Doa-combo very much. It just works.
Since there are sooo many games out there, the caster team has a huge impact if I want to see the games. Wolf+Doa make me watch the games.
Nice, but Doa+Moletrap was the greatest CodeA Team ever
The have the same voice, the same way of speaking, and they look alike. They're clones just so they have double the chances to become a GSL Caster.
Now which one is the evil one...
I hadn't heard that doa was coming back to GSL so you can imagine my surprise when his voice done surprised me.
i thought back in wolftrap days that doa wolf would do very well together and i'm not disappointed.

I really liked Doa/moletrap but moletrap cut off Doa a bit too much for my liking. Doa and Wolf mix really well. I feel the same. While Moletrap is a good caster, he and Doa didn't pair too well. Wolf+Doa however works great. I hope this is the final Code-A caster combo.
Dolf castiiiiing!

unfortunately the answers aren't very good. ofc they are not ruining esports (no i don't find the joke funny), but I just don't like them
I personally think they have some good chemistry between them and make a good casting duo, however there seems to be issues in game when they talk over each-other quite alot and not giving each other a chance to speak sometimes.
But overall I'd say they are one of the best combos that GomTV have hired.
I think they're doing a really good job. Doa is just a likeable guy and hes a good teamplayer. He sets up things for wolf and throws to him well. He always acknowledges what Wolf says and responds to it. Wolf is good as always with pretty good analysis.
I'm really worried about wolf+moletrap if thats what the future holds though... Moletrap just seems like a really solo oriented caster, he would often just ignore or not respond to what the other caster was saying and hes always interupting people to say his bit as if what he has to say is far more important and I don't think that will go over well with wolf. I guess hes just too used to casting alone on his youtube or whatever its hard to get used to working with someone else. Doa was too nice that he let moletrap do it but I think wolf will get annoyed eventually.
I think that it's been the best combo for code A, so far. Excluding Tastosis oc.
Only code A pair that I've reallllly liked thus far... Most of the time I don't stay up to watch code A if the matches aren't good, but I'd be fine staying up just to listen to these two cast
FINALLY. CODE A +GSTL has been saved! :DDDDD
I dont know what people like about Doa, to me he's not just very boring, but superficial and shows little knowlege of the game. He never surprises me with his comments, its like hes always one step behind. I really think GSL shouldnt stop looking for a better casting duo. Wolf stays, its just Doa that doesnt work.
Doa + moletrap for me, sorry man :D
I dont have Wolf but i dont think hes the greatest either , Always have been a fan of Doa and i think they make a nice casting duo.
John needs to cast code a!
Everyone is ruining e-sports.
Doa has the casting abilities, his voice is ok, dedication, acting too, but he needs to get good at the game ( masters level at least ) so he can provide some good quality commentary otherwise its useless and annoying listening to someone who has no knowledge about the game
I think Wolf/Doa have been the best lineup for code A to date (save Tastosis). Not so sure they need their names combined though The names Tasteless and Artosis go together like a high class cocktail, while Doa and Wolf are more like peanut butter and jelly. Delicious as hell, but they will forever be PB&J.
I mean Doa & Wolf.

I find them both remarkably bland. I'd often prefer music during intermissions, rather than the banter.

Love D-Wolf, combination is amazing.
Neither impressed nor disappointed. Get Tastosis more often!
I personally dislike their style of humor and therefore often feel quite annoyed listening to their drivel when nothing important is happening in the game and/or between games, but guess that's just a question of personal taste.
But since their 'pure' casting skills like game knowledge, enaunciation, quality of the play-by-play, etc. are really good I'm quite pleased. Taking into account the other casters Gom went through in their search for Code A commentary I feel like I should actually be really happy, since Gom has done a lot worse ^^
(Still hoping that Khaldor gets a chance to cast Code A though!)
I'd like to see Wolf+Moletrap, i just don't care about the play-by-play commentary...Doa is fine but i never liked his style of commentating...
It was great. Shame Moletrap has to come in on it.
I'm disgruntled at GOM for how quickly I picked Pretty cool, GSL have done much worse. I wish they'd get their Code A casters down and stop rotating in new people that I'll like even less. Wolf was like a fuck all miracle and anyone paired with him (Except one or two I can think of..) will be a good casting pair for Code A.
They are good together except Wolf constantly cuts Doa off.
They're consistently dry it seems. They seem somewhat knowledgeable in comparison to some other casters out there, but their humour and delivery is just that of a dejected teenage couple. No chemistry whatsoever.

That is one thing I really don't understand. You would think if your full-time job is to commentate a game you would either have played or watched enough of it to be extremely knowledgeable. It is not like I would expect the commentators to be world-class players, but to not be masters or at a bare minimum diamond is just a lack of effort and has nothing to do with a lack of skill or physical ability. Wolf, Tasteless, and Artosis are all Masters players (or were at some point) and it shows when you compare their commentary to the others. If Doa wants to improve as a caster the most important thing he can do right now is just play the game (1v1 ladder, not other stuff), he has the other components.

Wolf needs to stop trying to be Tasteless (including stealing his jokes). They need to find their own style. And they need to stop dragging out terrible jokes. Better to not joke at all than to put us through bad ones. There are plenty of casters who do a solid job without forcing pop culture jokes constantly.
They need to stop going off on wild tangents for minutes at a time ignoring everything that's going on in the game. It makes it worse when they're like 'well nothing was happening, they just put up a baneling nest and a spire, the Terran took his expansion and is researching stim'. That's something to talk about :\
Doa is actually kind of funny. Wolf seems unable to detect Doa's obvious sarcasm.
Case in point: last night Doa made some joke about spoilers, how he didn't know if Frodo lives or what happens with Snape and Dumbledore. Wolf stopped the conversation to ask if he really didn't know those things.
