Stream NA ladder for practice.
Why did they need to be in a house? They can do this at there own home. they are sitting next to guys all day long talking about the game and figuring this game out. They are using the korean model of training and you are saying they are just laddering for fun.... Sorry, but this is not really a korea model.

this seems like it will be more like the swedish pro gaming house, very very casual.
the practice 8 hours a day sounds like your typical new years resolution where you go to the gym for 1 week and stop going after.
if they stick with it and post up good results, i'll be glad to eat my words though

Hate if you like but we are going to work hard to get better! Good to hear. I think the complaint is not that you guys are streaming, in fact that is great. It is mostly that NA ladder is not productive (you have said this yourself). Frustrating to see you guys getting stream sniped by Deezer for hours on end, I'm sure it is even more frustrating for you too. Would you consider streaming on KR ladder even with the latency? Or streaming non-internal practice games with other top players (like how puzzle/huk were streaming their games against each other)?
AZ -> EU is bad and KR is impossible by competitive standards. Is playing NA ladder the best thing to do? Absolutely not. BUT neither is 8 hours of CG. We need to know what our peers are doing, we need to stream (contractually obligated for some) and we NEED to play less serious games otherwise we burn out.
Believe it or not we aren't a bunch of slobs just dicking around. We are actually constructing what we think is the best work schedule with what we have. This wasn't necessarily directed to you personally but more to the people interjecting with "it won't work" or "they need to do X" because quite frankly I am going to go with the opinion of the 7 pros immersed in the game here and the organization surrounding it vs the arm chair quarterback that read a few articles on korean progaming. What we CAN do and what we WANT to do are going to have to find a harmony. It is in OUR best interest to improve as much as possible. Please trust us to do that.

I think this is so awesome! I'm just wondering, if NA ladder is any real practice at all for you pros Incontrol? Every time I see someone like Idra stream he rarely runs into pro players.

Any plans to ladder on kr instead of NA ladder?

congrats!! just lost to strifecro today Q.Q

Considering iNcontroL, Machine, and IdrA were all streaming at the same time today, I'm assuming that this is working out pretty well so far. I also can't imagine the team investing in an entire house and then having the practice regimen go out the window like that. Way too much of a commitment upfront

Don't understand people assuming the worst or being negative overall... try and be positive please
We are running a schedule. This isn't a verbal commitment or something this is our job. We aren't a mismatch of progamer friends living in a place we rent together this is our place that our team provided. And you can bet your ass we aren't being paid to sit in here and chill.
I'm not going to keep coming in this thread and talking about how hard we are going to work etc etc.. think it gives off the wrong vibe. Just please try and be a bit more supportive and stop the nay-saying. It doesn't actually help anyone. I'd like it if expectations were really high and you dared to be disappointed as opposed to setting them really low and risking nothing except to be a faceless hater.

Great to hear Inconrtrol. Guess we'll be seeing lots and lots of EG streaming ^_^

Man this is like a gamers dream! You and your homies playing games all day in a chill house and getting paid. I'm excited to see the results of all the new practice, or at least hope nothing but great results come from the new enabled regimen. Go go EG sc2!

Do you still have time to work out inc? And machine + idra as well i guess.

worst case scenario, with you, machine and idra in the same house, you guys will be the most buff out of all the sc2 teams. ;-) gl with the house.

admirable attempt to sway the audience but we both know it doesnt matter. haters are haters. just let your tournament results do the talking. go EG!

The tournament results do not put in a good word for them. However I would love for this to catapult EG to Idra's level! Also, I always really wanted axslav to be good cuz his name is cool and one day i was bored and stole a sentry heavy 4 gate push from his ign proleague game and tore up the ladder a while.

Are you guys forgetting that PuMa is part of EG now? And he has been one of the best practice partners? I'm sure he will help them have the "Korean model".
|
Can't wait to see a tour of the house, it looked awesome just through the webcam in SOTG. Seems like you guys have nice room in between every computer as well, not a cluster-fuck like some of the other pro-gaming houses I've seen. Would also love to see some coverage of Puma when/if he comes down and trains with you guys.

i honestly think incontrol and idra and the rest of EG guys have the mechanics to match the korean pros like MVP/MMA/DRG, they simply are getting crushed by the metagame.
the game is evolving every week. the korean ladder seems to be thinking of all the powerhouse strats/builds/techniques and the players that dont get the chance to see it and develop counters to it will get rolled over by it.
honestly the solution is probably to play on the korean ladder from US. that way EG will get to experience the metagame changes alot earlier
if you think about it, EG players will feel lag on the korean server but in reality this is essentially training under a handicap. each win you get on the korean server from america is more important because you are playing under lag and even though you lose more it only makes your play stronger
you remove that lag in a tournament setting and you will have a advantage over your opponent who normally plays in a easier environment .
think of it like goku and how he would train with weighted clothing, then when he had to fight against vegeta he took off the weighted clothing which increased his power level. anyway you get my point. this would be like letting EG train like goku and then when they go into a tournament setting them playing without lag like is like they are taking off their weighted clothing to increase their power level

Good luck to EG! I know this change is a great motivation for them to work harder.
