did u guys reliase u handciapped yourself by moving to Arizona where the connection to both Korea and Europe is not worth it? and not a dig, just seems like you should of got a palce where the connection eithier Euriope or Koriea was at least playable.but you must have limited amount of training partners then what you could of if you were on the east coast to play vs Europe or west coast to play vs Korea(if that is any good at all anyway).

Also is the any news on wether Puma will come out and join you at all?

somehow affordability for a house that rooms 7 was higher on the list than internet connection to EU / KR.

Proximity to SirScoots HD studio is a plus as well.

5 minute drive from major airport doesn't hurt.

etc

etc

etc...

i honestly think incontrol and idra and the rest of EG guys have the mechanics to match the korean pros like MVP/MMA/DRG, they simply are getting crushed by the metagame.

the game is evolving every week. the korean ladder seems to be thinking of all the powerhouse strats/builds/techniques and the players that dont get the chance to see it and develop counters to it will get rolled over by it.

honestly the solution is probably to play on the korean ladder from US. that way EG will get to experience the metagame changes alot earlier

if you think about it, EG players will feel lag on the korean server but in reality this is essentially training under a handicap. each win you get on the korean server from america is more important because you are playing under lag and even though you lose more it only makes your play stronger

you remove that lag in a tournament setting and you will have a advantage over your opponent who normally plays in a easier environment .

think of it like goku and how he would train with weighted clothing, then when he had to fight against vegeta he took off the weighted clothing which increased his power level. anyway you get my point. this would be like letting EG train like goku and then when they go into a tournament setting them playing without lag like is like they are taking off their weighted clothing to increase their power level

ahaha this post is awesome, especially the last paragraph :D.

Pretty sure IdrA has laddered a bit on EU before, as well as severeal others(Drewbie comes to mind). Are you sure that the latency is that bad?

I'm ambivalent about this idea so far. I don't want to make any sweeping predictions ("It will FAIL MISERABLY, I KNOW IT WILL" etc), I guess we'll see how much the players improve. I hope it goes well, though. For ESPORTS!

There is nowhere in the US where you can play NA to KR without .5 sec lag, not even the west coast AFAIK. (Hawaii maybe? LOL)

I don't get .5 sec lag on korea and I live in Idaho. I used to get it but it really went away, latency is almost like NA for me. Don't know why it changed randomly (like a month-2 months ago it changed for me). But its really awesome for me anyway ^_^.

We are running a schedule. This isn't a verbal commitment or something this is our job. We aren't a mismatch of progamer friends living in a place we rent together this is our place that our team provided. And you can bet your ass we aren't being paid to sit in here and chill.

I'm not going to keep coming in this thread and talking about how hard we are going to work etc etc.. think it gives off the wrong vibe. Just please try and be a bit more supportive and stop the nay-saying. It doesn't actually help anyone. I'd like it if expectations were really high and you dared to be disappointed as opposed to setting them really low and risking nothing except to be a faceless hater.

I sincerely can't understand why you read this comments and even spend time answering it! You should know better incontrol, people want to hate! Considering the last drama surrounding EG (Puma, SOTG etc..) you know there is nothing you guys can do besides sticking with your plans, work hard and present results for the fucking haters!

You have fans and believers! Just do it!

yet somehow Koreans manage to compete and win from KR to NA in online tournaments / qualifiers

Except NesTea, who is 4-8 in online tourneys

Korea to NA is also faster due to their innate internet speeds (SK has insane speeds, fastest in the world probably per area)

Solid builds and macro wins them, but if they had to play themselves or an equally skilled opponent with that lag they would most likely have trouble.

Hope this investment and time really pays off for not only iNcontrol ( <3 this dude, no homo ) but all of team EG. Quality people deserve nothing but the best and should be rewarded for their dedication and hard work.

Question... and I'm sorry if it was mentioned earlier but will Puma be making an appearance in the house at some point?

I don't think this will make any difference, but it might make a nice reality TV show, which will bring in some money for esports. Think about it, several people living in the same house, the possible raging from games lost is enough for a good season or two. First you lose vs. cruncher, then the toilet is clogged up, then someone ate all your food. Good times.

People are just "cautious"... All that was seen from EG (except Idra, which success is (more like was) hardly thanks to EG):

SC2 comes out...
Incontrol talks about becoming a top player and Machine being one of the best/a total beastly macro Zerg... Results? Next to none.

Now?
Machine/Incontrol are basically "wasting" space in the MLG pool and dropping out early in basically all the other tournaments?

Future?
Well... I wish you the best of luck but your track record is not exactly beastly.

The House is awesome, the Idea behind it is awesome and i wish you the best of luck... But pI don't think eople here aren't really hating, people are just a little fed up with Incontrol/EG propaganda whiteout results backing it up... So people are way more cautious about your statements nowadays .

Best of luck (again).

I don't see how people can comment on how this is a bad location or anything remotely of that sort. Phoenix seems like the perfect location to me for this training house when Idra and Machine lived here for several months now, Machine's been in Arizona for over a year, Scoots has been there for many years and has his studio nearby, its a state with relatively cheap housing and is still located near enough (within a days drive) of Los Angeles, and like they've stated, very near a large international airport.

I'm just excited to see the pictures and video tours of the place when they're all settled and moved in. Its Phoenix arizona, the internet can't be terrible for a house dedicated like this, I'm sure it'll be fine.

We just need to relax and watch the progress of the house, thats all

Uhh... No. That's not how latency works. KR --> US is the same as US --> KR. Bandwidth is not a factor unless it's extremely slow (56k) causing congestion of the game's traffic.

I wish all the EG guys the best of the luck!

It's great that they are taking the initiative to setup a pro-house and hopefully stick to a rigourous training schedule. It will be a long, hard road but if they can stick to it, I'm sure some results will follow in due course.

Hope to see other foreigner teams following EG's lead.
