Patch 1.3.6 is up on the NA server. After the server went down for maintenance (presumably to fix the Fun or Not issue), I relaunched SC2 and was pushed a patch. No patch notes were there (only the ones from 1.3.5), but, as you can see, 1.3.6 is here. Did some testing offline, didn't see any noticeable changes, but didnt' do a lot of digging.
Any thoughts? Will this have some big balance changes like 1.3.3, or will this just be a service update?
EDIT: Blizzard patcher is now showing patch notes... Looks just to be a service/bug fix update... Nothing to see here guys
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty - Patch 1.3.6
Bug Fixes
General Fixed an issue where using the Fun or Not system would sometimes cause players to be disconnected from the game. Fixed an issue with the "Q" key being unusable in Mac's French Grid keyboard layout.
StarCraft II Editor Fixed an issue that prevents using Value to set Player parameter in the Modify Player Property function. Fixed an issue when using Unit Can Attack Unit Type function that could cause the game to become unresponsive.
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty - Tools Update 2.1.2.2525
When downloading multiple patches concurrently, the launcher will now show the combined progress of all patches instead of showing the progress of each individual patch.
NOW GET THE SERVER BACK UP!! Jk Blizzard I love you... But seriously, this is some long downtime for fixing fun or not (which is borderline unused afaik)
EDITEDIT: Basically 3 hours now... Please get it up soon Blizzard QQ, I REALLY wanted a game of fun or not right? Answer, NO ID RATHER HAVE 3 HOURS OF LADDER
EDITEDITEDIT: And now we've hit 4 hours.... Sighhhh
EDITEDITEDITEDIT: And 5 seconds after I put in that edit, SERVERS ARE BACK UP!!!!... I guess 4 hours is the charm??

Probably a service update, after all, they wouldn't release a balance patch without public testing (and whining )
Fixing the Fun or Not feature, I'd imagine. This long after a release, I've never seen Blizz spontaneously make balance changes without warning and testing.
ah I wonder. this always happens when I want to play. I play like once a month and bam it's patch time and I can't play. Especially since I only have 45 minutes until I have to go to work. le sighhh

Because rapid genesis was implemented too, they build instantly.

Damn I forgot to mention that since Infestor Broodlord was slightly OP, they decided to replace both units with the Infestorlord. We all thought the Infestor/Broodlord combo was going to fixed with the new HotS expansion, right? No! The Infestorlord is simply a flying Infestor with Corrupter tails wiggling behind it, that shoots little Fungal lnfested Terrans. However Blizzard decided to take a page out of Brood War, and when these Infested Terrans die, they fire off a standard Fungal Growth directly where they died! This unit should completely solve all Infestor Broodlord problems, since now neither unit actually exists. The best part is that this unit doesn't even function with Energy or a Cooldown like the previous Infestor! It simply shoots and functions like a Broodlord, though the Broodlings were replaced with new Fungal Infested Terrans -now Protoss and Terran should need their Templar and Ghosts even less!

LOLLL The amount of trolling in this thread about what was pretty much certain to be a service patch is hilarious hahaha!
I had to try a few times before it would finally patch and load the game, still waiting for the server to go up. Why can't they do these patches at like 5am?

Wow, the trolling in this thread is funny, but still makes me feel like ">_>"
Anyways, the fixes seem decent. Some major but highly situational bugs are fixed, and some editor bugs are fixed as well.

That's actually a hell of a lot in my opinion. I always wonder WTF could possibly be using up so much space when tiny little bugfixes, stat chanes, or other small changes are like 7-30MB
The reason patch 1.3.6 happened was because of some drama on a hacking website. Some guy released a Maphack that people have to pay like $100 for, another guy bought it and "cracked" it, releasing it to the public for free. Then the guy who created the hack released all of the hacks protection to blizzard, and they patched the game about 4 hours after the guy sent in the info. (This is not a lie or a troll)

Lol so they patch this, and give us 2+ hours of downtime, but when the person on the top of NA grandmasters (PiLLagE or something) uses a drop hack to go 50something-1, they do nothing about it... GJ Blizz

How do we know if you're lying or not? With such information coming from somebody with less than 20 posts and stating no source...
Well you can read about it on the site that all the drama is happening, but i cant post links on TL... plus i don't think its good to post hacking pages on a competitive site. Im about 99% positive this update has to do with the hacks, because the guy who created it released all of the info about his hack (including the warden protection), but i dont think people are going to be banned, because he didn't release accounts to them.
On July 29 2011 04:58 Azera wrote: With such information coming from somebody with less than 20 posts and stating no source...
I would state the source but it is against TL rules to post links to other websites, and as i stated in the previous post, why would I link a website that is about hacking sc2 to a website about competitive sc2? That doesn't make sense.... im sure you could find the website by searching ValiantChaos.
EDIT: Also I do alot more reading on various forums than I do posting, I'm sorry my post count doesn't meet your criteria for a reliable source.

Thought he was trolling, but after a really quick google search, the claims about a pay-for hack and it being cracked look to be true. Hopefully the guy sending everything to Blizz also happened, and hopefully they put something in 1.3.6 to stop the hack.

I sincerly hope this is true. Map hacks have gotten rediculously out of control.
I am not a fantastic player, I fall in the mediocre category. So I do not expect to dominate all I encounter. However, I want an honest game. If i lose, I want it to be because I was outplayed, not because I didn't have the latest hack bs.
This is akin to cheating at chess. Why not just tattoo "I'm not as good as mediocre" on your forehead.
I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really want an ultralisk speed upgrade. Don't joke about things like that. I wan't a fast zerg T3 army. Make the ultralisk a bit weaker to balance it out, fine with that. Just don't make me choose between Brood Lords and Ultralisks as they are now.
Games just slow down too much once zerg hits T3 effectiveness.

based on what everyone is saying, I think the ultralisk is winning in this patch...we may see some mass mothership play as well
-marines are now 25 mineral -Kulas extreme, Steppes of War, and Shatteredopolis is now in the map pool -Bunker salvage ability now returns 125 minerals, up from 75 -Warp gate tech takes 60 seconds to research -Zerglings no longer cost larva and build instantly -Ultralisks now allows to mount spore crawlers and banelings for 25 minerals and have banelings for melee attack -Unlimited motherships can be built -Infestorlord introduced -Ultralisk and colossus to dangle from transports (like the thor) -Ultralisk now have a speed upgrade available -Marauders now have a speed upgrade available
(sorry if I missed any lol)

I wonder if this supposed hack causes you to lose control of your mouse in game forcing you to reboot your system aside from the map hack feature.
Kinda interesting because if that is definitely a feature of this hack then I was a victim earlier today. Managed to get it on my stream too but I just cant figure out why when I would attempt to click anything it would make a ding sound.
For those who are gonna assume wireless mouse with batteries, wrong. I've always and will always use a corded mouse ^_^;

probably a problem with your graphics card. I know my hd 5870 regularly screws up and it's a known issue.

Highly doubt it was my graphics card that caused this issue. Because of that was the case it would only have been in game and not in any other application running.
I was completely unable to click on anything period. In game when it first happened, you could see that it was attempting to move around on its own while I was trying to move my units.
But the funny thing is, it happened when the opponent was getting ready to be pushed on his final base. I just don't understand when they know I'm running 6 base, killed off 2 of theirs and pushing their third when I have 3/3 ups compared to their 1/0/2 maxed against his 6 stalkers/1 colossus. Why bother staying?
(edit:
even after trying to research what you brought up, there is no bug or glitch with the nvidia gtx 570 and starcraft 2 or even losing mouse function that I have found.)
Protoss Zealot attacks now cause 1 point self-inflicted damage per hit Removed Hardened Shields ability from Immortals Removed Cliff Walking ability from Colossus, changed armor type to "light" Blink cooldown increased to 1,200 seconds Void Ray are no longer air units Psionic Storm research cost increased by 750 gas, 1,800 seconds Force Field duration lowered to 0.65 seconds
Zerg Roach range increased to 12, hitpoints increased by 1000 Movement on creep now grants +8.5 to base movement speed Added Detection ability to Overlord Infestor can now cast Fungal Growth as an ability (1.2 second cooldown) Infestor can now spawn Infested Terran while burrowed, to anywhere on the map Zerglings now considered Armored and Massive type units, cost reduced to 10 minerals New unit added - Lurker
Terran Seige Tank (Seige Mode) range decreased to 2, damage decrease by 75 Marines will now be produced by Planetary Fortress, cost decreased by 49 minerals Battlecruiser speed increased by 0.5 Marauders now have abilities Charge and Blink (no cooldown)

That might be so in HotS for campaign play. Raptor upgrade I think it was called. Can't really remember.

Yep thats what happened to me. Keyboard had full functional capabilities just couldn't use my mouse period until I rebooted. Curious as to what the opponents name was that you played, because if it was the same person that I did then it was certainly a feature of some hack.

Agreed. This is a little ridiculous. At least give us some warning so we can plan around it, or do it at night when people are sleeping.

Omgz! How much I wish that this was actually true. Don't know when Blizzard will ever learn to put together a actual team of people for anti-hack protection and updates to the system.
I too have been having mouse issues. I have to unplug it then plug it back in before it works again. One or two games it just completely stopped working and I had to just leave because I couldn't do anything.

I don't remember the opponent's name. It's happened to me probably close to 10 times in the past week or two. It makes the dinging noise like when you unplug a USB device. I'm assuming that my issue is just something wrong with my mouse (Razor Death Adder 3500) or something but I got the newest drivers and it's still happened a few times.

just the other week i tried to see what League Of Legends was like, and their servers were down for like 2 days solid. That was free, mind...
After a while, some services will be held for the update. During the update process will not be able to connect to the game. Check the current efforts to minimize the time I'm not available at this time, please try connecting again later.

Lol, your mind should have told you to repress those memories... :/
Will dictate when it comes back up. But then again since it also states "Unknown Version (the bot or the server may need to be updated due to a patch)" you will need to manually check for yourself.
I'm guessing the servers are "back up". But I can't login.. and the newsbox now says they're trying to resolve an issue where players can't login lol.. next 30 min update so they say

it says "we'll provide an update in approximately 30 minutes, or as soon as the issue is resolved."
so I guess by it saying "soon" means from 30 minutes to 12 years? o_O /bad joke
i tried the language change with the repair option, was working on earlier patches, but now it simply says can not repair StarCraft. Has someone else tried it yet and got it working again?
Its pretty irritating that Blizzard keeps on putting these small updates fixing only few bugs for a feature no one uses or something extremely small that it is not bothering many people alot. But when they do release the fix so many people have problems installing it it isn't funny. Its like blizzard usually creates more problems than they solve with these minor patches.
I'm on EU hopefully I can patch now, last patch that was only one bug fix caused huge problems that needed a reinstall =,=

Yeah, I'm getting the same thing. The last time this happened (which was my own fault) I had to fully reinstall.
You must have done one of those language install things using the repair function correct? If so, then go into your SC2 installation folder, search for koKR (or whatever language you installed, and delete all files found... GL!

It's working now, guess the rservers for the repair program were still down earlier.
For the record, I did that language switch thing. Now I cannot patch, even after using the repair tool. When I try to start SC2 up, I go through some patching windows before getting this message:
The patch "pc-tools-hdfiles\StarCraft II.exe" could not be applied. (MD5 mismatch: expected 0x42F560DFDB22418A6AC25883AF8FB9BA, actual 0x07E59918169BC2F2F80A6529B6B7E10C.)(PTCApply_BSDiff failed.) If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (BNUpdate:TCApply)
It appears my only option will be to reinstall.

I love how they go through all of this to patch a little "fun-or-not" issue (which I've never actually used) and the Q-key for French mac's or whatever. I haven't heard anyone complain about that. Ever. The new maps, on the other hand...
Whew, didn't have to uninstall. I just opened up SC2 directory, searched for all files "zhCN" like someone here suggested, deleted them, ran repair, ran patch, and now I'm good to go.

this would probably be a nerf, imagine if you had to produce pairs of zerglings from the spawning pool or hatchery itself, goodbye being able to build 50 emergency zerglings from 25 eggs.
Because rapid genesis was implemented too, they build instantly.
From drop pods that they stole from the Terrans and infested: anywhere on the map you can see.
Did you guys notice that in custom games, when someone joins and drops out (before the game started) the timer stops? or rather, when someone left the game someone else came in and the timer reset.

Best. Fucking. Change. Ever.
It was before this patch. But yes, this is very good change.
As good as it is they are constantly on the ball with bugfixes, having a new patch every other week means greater chance I have to log out when watching a replay from a previous version of starcraft which can be annoying
omg thank you blizzard for fixing the fun or not problem. i was mindwrecked and almost quit sc2 because of it. i'm glad you guys are listening to the community's wishes and ideas such as implementing the fun or not and facebook feature. it looks like sc2 is pretty much perfect now

It's a good improvement, but I'd still like to be able to leave custom games when the timer goes off without having to log out.
Apparently Blizzard also made a unlisted change in patch 1.3.6
The splash radius for Seeker Missile is now 20% larger (which is 44% more area). So it's 100% between 0 and 0.6, 50% between 0.6 and 1.2 and 25% between 1.2 and 2.4. (Before it was 100% at 0.5 and less, 50% at 0.5-1 and 25% at 1-2)

wait what? Are we 100% positive about this, why would they not say anything in the patch notes
I really don't understand why they keep doing something like this. If they feel like they need to change something in the game so the players will use it more, why wouldn't they tell they players about it?

You shouldn't trust people that claim they have found unlisted patch changes. I do remember several multi-number threads about supposedly new patch changes that turned out to be either fake or simply wrong.

Just check for yourself in the Starcraft II Editor, this is true.

It's just called the Seeker Missile.
Blizz got rid of the "hunter" part because it was 1, retarded and 2, just a mouthful to say. Especially when casters tried to say it.
Yeah sorry. It felt more natural since I usually refer to it as HSM.

Uhm, that was pretty much my point. You should not trust random people making wild claims.

? He didn't trust people making wild claims! He checked the editor... But this change I feel can only be beneficial!
