Sucks for Halo.. but its entirely Bungies fault tbh I must have played thousands of Hours of the first 3 Halo's combined. Then Reach came out... I played it online for 2 days and couldn't have cared.. the maps.. the gameplay... awful.
My girlfriend is visiting this weekend.. so I'm not going to get to see... lets count this shall we.
1. MLG (DRG!! noo!!) 2. EVO 3. GSL Finals.
I guess I haven't seen her in 5 months, I should cut her some slack.. everytime she's not looking a stream is getting thrown up in the background however lol.
Hopefully SC2 breaks more MLG records and justifies it's spot. and how I wish E-sports fans would get along. whether you be RTS, FPS or Fighing.. just watch and enjoy them all.
Here's hoping Halo 4 is good, because Halo: Reach is terrible as a competitive game. (Been an MLG follower and player since 04,) Can anyone tell me what's wrong about Reach? It's an honest question. I am a very casual FPS player but I had lots of fun playing Halo:Reach with my friends. Just once though. Yeah, I always wonder about this. Everyone talks shit about Reach, but no gives reason why, I love that game.
Because it is different from the past titles released by Bungie and people do not like change.

Now all we need is 3 SC2 streams, and each stream getting a main stage each.

The issue with Reach is everyone wanted Halo 1 back, 2 and 3 were disappointments to many in the competitive scene and everyone was hoping they learned for these mistakes and would revive the series and all they got was a Halo 3 remake with jet packs

Very low prize money and no Tastosis makes this an almost home run Starcraft tournament.

Online streaming is perfect for the scene, there's no need to bring SC2 to the TV.
I think BW in korea proved that no one wants to watch video games on TV

The people not understanding the reach hate, a few of us long time halo players listed the differences between the games during the thread. The problem is the dev's didn't listen to the community at all. So the Pro's who are getting paid by MLG can say whatever they please. The whole community got shit upon, and now no-one plays. The people who mostly enjoy reach from what I've seen are new to the series.
Rather than balance the game / add more skill. Bungie basically said.. you know what would make Halo better!!! Jetpacks..! and there was a collective groan throughout the whole community.
The maps are awful.. like I said earlier.. the MLG maps are actually remakes of Halo 2 maps because most of the new ones are awful and completely unmemorable.
What makes a good E-Sport is a game that is balanced, simple to understand what's going on. Halo: Reach added too many unnecessary gimmicks to both the core gameplay and the maps. The game no longer plays like "Halo" it plays like Call of Quake.. team edition. which no one asked for.
I know a lot of people here probably don't play FPS or at least didn't play the earlier ones. So I'll try and make an SC analogy. People say Blizz don't listen. But at least they took Steppes and Kulas out of the map pool. Imagine playing poorly designed maps like Kulas all the time and rather than keep the gameplay principles of the SC series.. they just said lol.. lets add siege tanks that fly. cos that'd be awesome! Rather than actually giving a crap what the community wanted.
It's their game, they can do what they want, but as it's us paying and playing.. they should maybe pay attention, rather than just shit upon us with their "knowing best"

Nice, exactly how it should be!
