Maybe 3 or 5 ppl get mad in that thread, the rest agrees. And then we got the assholes bragging about it and asking for a flamewar. I was expecting more from a community who is supposed to be so mannered.

Wow the SC2 players seem horrible in that thread. Lets not brag so much, SC2 isn't center stage because its a better game, its there because its more popular. Eventually some other game will be more popular than SC2...

Wow, great news.
Too bad I won't be able to witness the epicness. TT

Just give you guys a little insight on why this entire thing happened. There's actually more than just one reason that SC2 is in the middle for this event. I personally am a fan of Esports in general so I'm not really biased here. But I have followed MLG for quite a while(since 05-06, somewhere around there).
The west coast is notorious for not having good turnouts. This has been proven time and time again. The west coast just isn't interested in MLG. The only reason that MLG is going to Anaheim(again) is because of Starcraft 2. If SC2 wasn't on the circuit, Anaheim or any west coast location for that matter wouldn't even be considered. There's more money to be made on the east coast and in the midwest.
Add to the fact that SC2 is a global game(as Halo is more of a national one), it's pretty much common sense to have SC2 in the middle because Halo does not need that much space for a west coast event. However, when the Raleigh event comes around the corner, MLG is going to have a tougher decision to make. Halo always has great turnouts on the east coast, especially in a place like Raleigh(same could be said for SC2). SC2 might not be able to have enough room on one of the side stages, but there won't be enough room for Halo either.
I wouldn't be surprised if they switched it up every event(obviously CoD wouldn't be considered for the middle because the community is incredibly smaller than both Halo and SC2). Anyway, just kind of wanted to fill you guys in on that. Great to see SC2 get the middle stage though(I only got into Starcraft like in 08 or so, I'm a relative newcomer). About time it gets some major love.

MLG has been amazing so far, cant wait for day 3!!!!!!!!1

Had a blast at MLG, but was really surprised just how dead CoD/Halo were. I'm talking about, if you combined the CoD/Halo crowd, and then multiplied that number by 10, the SC2 crowd still absolutely KILLED it.
Here's a pic of the CoD section I took with my cell, right after one of the games finished. Halo section was just as dead the entire time, it never filled up.
+ Show Spoiler +
Compared to what we saw on the stream in SC2, and know that's just the center stage, there were other games going on with other crowds in other places...
+ Show Spoiler +
EDIT: Resized the images as they were retardedly large^^

I remember looking at the stream, and even in downtime the SC2 section was full of people, with some people always on the floor. Truly amazing to see so many people so enthusiastic for SC2! :D

I think the best part was how the CoD feed was showing the sc2 crowd instead of the actual (almost empty) crowd watching CoD (at least this is from what I saw while standing between the SC2 and CoD areas)

Lol when Halo ended they switched their screens to SC2 and the crowd cheered. but then they were still doing the award ceremony for Halo (with sc2 behind them)...so they turned off the sc2 stream and people started to boo.

SC2 will become the dominant e sport at MLG most likely

it was just a matter of time...

Does LoL have fans that are actually willing to travel to watch? or will it be like WoW where no one really travels to spectate and everyone just watches online

LoL is going to die once Dota 2 comes out.
but yea, they should take CoD off MLG, waste of space and money. maybe MW3 will spark it again. Hopefully they put more into SC2 though, can't wait for the next MLG event. ANyone one else think that the columbus crowd was alot craziest/louder than Anaheim? I think what Konyak posted is quite true with the results at Anaheim. those FPS games will probably have a better showing at Raleigh

They won't take COD out, SONY is backing COD and putting up the prize money for it.
Take out COD and Sony sponsorships/partnerships might go with it.

Unfortunately true. I think COD is taking up space that could be spent on a much better game. Heck, even using one of the Modern Warfare games would be better than BlOps.

I played it online for 2 days and couldn't have cared.. the maps.. the gameplay... awful.
My girlfriend is visiting this weekend.. so I'm not going to get to see... lets count this shall we.
1. MLG (DRG!! noo!!) 2. EVO 3. GSL Finals.
I guess I haven't seen her in 5 months, I should cut her some slack.. everytime she's not looking a stream is getting thrown up in the background however lol.
Hopefully SC2 breaks more MLG records and justifies it's spot. and how I wish E-sports fans would get along. whether you be RTS, FPS or Fighing.. just watch and enjoy them all.
Here's hoping Halo 4 is good, because Halo: Reach is terrible as a competitive game. (Been an MLG follower and player since 04,) Can anyone tell me what's wrong about Reach? It's an honest question. I am a very casual FPS player but I had lots of fun playing Halo:Reach with my friends. Just once though.
As an old school Halo player, yeah I have a lot against it. As a Starcraft player? No, I'm fine with it. I still follow a lot of the pros and there are some really great people involved.
