Well, I'm not surprised.
Reach killed a lot of competitive fire for MLG, and the birth of scII just made this ripe for the picking. It's going to take one hell of a good new release with Halo4 to take the mainstage back...
Even still, this is arguably the most competitive circuit/competition in North America for starcraft2, and seeing as the fanbase is much more intense, it's no surprise.
Also, you shouldn't really be biased so hard against halo, it's a really good game. It's a tough loss for halo fans, as it was the franchise to really get MLG going. The thread over at the MLG forums was mostly halo fans saying "well, it makes sense" and/or "they deserve it". But it looks like SC2 is really going to take it to the next level, so congrats!

This weekend is too stacked. EVO, MLG and GSL Finals. I guess I'll watch EVO in the morning, MLG in the late afternoon/night and then GSL Finals on the night it's on.

SCII is such a viewer friendly sport, it has casters, commentators, tangible professionals, and is very culturally diverse. you can't really commentate a halo or COD game like you can with SCII. You feel like you know the players and the community, it has a staying power that halo and COD just cant match because the community isn't centered around new realeases, it's centered around an experience. SCII MLG's are an experience where the others are just a tournament. SCII is here to stay.

I'm currently being given the cold shoulder. My woman is pre-emptive, and she knows what "MLG Weekend" Means.
It means setting the alarm for 3am. Not speaking until 1pm, and then sleeping from 6pm....
After last MLG, I don't think I could be any more excited for this MLG.

wow, this is great news! I think SC2 in MLG is getting to the point where it can branch out and host it's own events separate from COD and halo.

I really hope MLG raise their prize poll as much as Code A.
The players play like 8 hours a day non stop and the amount of viewers are incredible.
Raising their prize poll will make MLG more legit
