Continue hosting awesome tournaments and doing your work, the scene will eventually grow bigger and maybe you can get a sponsor for the next tournament. Money attracts players and gives motivation to train harder. All the haters can fuck off. GL to you / SEA.

Page 26 and onwards I will issue at least two day bans to anyone who clearly has not read the original topic post and the explanations contained therein. He was barred access to the event days before the actual event took place and used some random diamond player his account to try and get in anyway. Leave the racial bias at the door while you are at it as well pretty please.

I understand that your trying to grow the scene, but inviting a sea player with Korean training is no diff than allowing major to play. In the end your exposing the scene to competition that you were trying to avoid in the first place. I don't understand. He's a SEA player, ergo, it is growing the SEA scene. major is not from SEA, so his participation doesn't grow the SEA scene.

The purpose of the tournament shouldn't have any meaning in this discussion, the fact is there are rules set for this tournament and by the rules T.gun was allowed to participate. Even if the freaking Flash somehow got the Australian citizenship he would be able to participate got it ?

The issue is not about nationalities, racism or discrimination. Neither is it an argument about if Foreign players should play in SEA tourneys. It is about how Major asked the organiser if he could play, was specifically told no, and then went on to smurf in the tourney using an Australian players account. Not to mention he abused the organiser for 45 mins while he was running the tournament and stayed in the channel for 2-3 hours trolling the chat. Fenix, ST_KingKong etc had asked for clarification as well but the difference is they politely went about their business after being told they were not eligible to play in this tournament. Dox has plans for foreign invites for future tournaments he holds, this was just not the time for it yet.

Major was told he couldn't participate, he shouldn't have done this, it is pretty obvious that this was a bad thing to do etc. I don't think that's the important issue, though. What I think of reading some of the replies to this thread is this: People complained when Catz suggested that some tournaments shouldn't allow Koreans to participate so the Foreigner scene can grow. The condemnation was fairly outspoken and people thought it was stupid that Koreans shouldn't be allowed in Foreign tournaments. One of the main reasons given was that the Foreigner scene wouldn't grow as quickly as Foreigners wouldn't need to compete against the best for money, they'd only have to compete with each other. On the flip-side, people are now arguing that this SEA-restricted tournament is going to help the SEA scene grow by allowing the SEA players to make some money playing the game, giving them more time to train so that they'll be able to take on players from other regions/Korea. Erm, pick one guys. Please? I just want to highlight something for you that has been repeatedly and obliviously disregarded throughout the course of this thread. There are so many opportunities in Europe and America and Korea. There are very few in SEA. As a result, our players do not feel very motivated. I was speaking to our Rank #1 Grandmaster a few days ago. He said he'd quit his job, and would have a lot more free time now. But rather than practicing and improving his skill, he felt like he should do something productive because there's no future in SC2 for SEA players. So this is one attempt (of several) by me to provide an incentive for players like him to train harder and build confidence. I've been working my ass off for 11 years to try and make these possibilities a reality for us and that opportunity is on the horizon. And for the 9th time today (yes, I counted), Dox Cup #2 will be inviting international participants, with a larger prize pool. I've actually learned something valuable from this thread. I used to think the global eSports/StarCraft 2 scene was broken down into two categories. "Korea" and "Foreigners" - but this is not the case. It's actually "Korea", "America & Europe" and "South East Asia." Seeing our region repeatedly referred to as "a joke" is disheartening. But at the same time, it does nothing but motivate me even more to get our guys on the map. They have the talent and the potential, all they lack is the opportunities.

Tgun was a SEA player before he went to train in Korea while Major wasn't. Are you saying since Tgun has gotten better that he should no longer participate in SEA tournaments? If that is your logic than when any player reaches a certain level of play they should be phased out. This tournament was for SEA players, it's that simple. :/

The whole major thing does seem to be blown out of proportion, but the admins decide the rules, so he was in the wrong for what he did. On the SEA side, it would be nice if you guys open the tournament up and hand some "invites" from the outside, it could inject some more life into your tournaments. I didn't get to see this one tournament sadly one of the few I missed, probably passed out before it come up. To wrap up, admins are right in their decisions, major should've quit. In future invite him instead though would be great to see him compete in the tournament. Even if he is Terran.... edit: Read the posts right above me, nice international invites, hard to read 30 pages though, GSL code A now =o. Nice

He was playing soccer with oGs and a few other pro Korean teams. Secondly, he's an Australian citizen, just like I said in my chat with MajOr. Just because he leaves the country for a few weeks, you suggest that we should be turning our backs on him? Who said I was trying to avoid competition? You seem to have a very distorted sense of comprehension.

Dox, honestly, you are the heart of SEA. I know that whenever I see people laugh at SEA and disregard the region, it just demoralizes me. But to you see you actually take it on the chin and use it to improve this region even more, you are simply amazing.
