What about the solution they used at TSL3, didn't they have a program specially for that? Is that program unavaible, unreliable or is there some reason I'm just missing? Because I don't remember any other tournament saying they used something similar, actually.
R1CH's program reduced the problem but didn't eliminate it - IIRC it told the casters where they were in relation to each other and left it to them to adjust.
I actually like the new theme, only the player images seem weird.

Our engineers are saying they are working on a fix to watch in SD today, I am literally watching them draw on a whiteboard as I type this and I see numbers like 540p and 360p and other stuff. Otherwise you can watch the broadcast in our jtv archive at: http://www.justin.tv/ignproleague/videos

Only thing that made me wannna cry was the old shakuras, im not a big fan oof the new theme but dont really care too much either way, well done with IPL it owns!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the updates, most of those issues are pretty minor but it is nice you took the time to respond to all of them!

Haha thanks, but the Archive has the same problem, there's no 360p in archives.
I guess I'll just wait till it's fixed on the website.

awesome to see this kind of improvement from the beginning I also noticed, game 3 video didn't worked for me, wanted to see the IdrA game... not sure whether this already got reported though

Wow. Did not expect that, awsome to see IGN react to what people say about the league so quick.

The program takes quite some getting used to tbh. Basically you get a relative timer on your screen and it tells you where everyone else is in relation to you who is in on the cast. One of you has to keep an eye on that and speed up/slow down the replay to try and keep it as in sync as possible. Obviously this can't be done on the observers end either. It's one more thing to keep track of and it takes some practice.

Wow this is sooo cool :D Way to go IPL, making an effort to consciensly get feedback. You guys are gonna be loved by the community for sure!

Good job IPL. Showing NASL how to do it - no bs, no excuses, just results. Great work.

Enjoying everything quite a lot. Your OP seems to have everything on base. The only other change I would like to see would for IPL3 when you do qualifiers, use a point system instead of a top 4 system.

You guys are doing this so well, creating your own thread and actively logging issues.
I didn't have too many problems with the stream yesterday, and the new theme is kinda cool, but 1) would be a nice implement.
Also, I don't know if I am the only one feeling it but the music just seems slightly too loud compared to the casting, and I have to keep changing the volume. Wondering if anyone else felt that. Not a deal-breaker in the slightest.
Great day, hope it continues like this.

Oh my god IPL you are so awsome, i wish more were as good at taking constructive critisism and communicating with the community like you are, this is great People see that you are taking note of the complaints, and what you are doing to fix them. This will also save you from alot of complaining in the future, that you were so good and fast at comming with some responses.

2 things. First of all, your ability to take feedback and grow from it is INCREDIBLE. Seriously, massive props to you for this. Like huge, cause it's really nice to see.
Second, and this is a more fundamental than things like overlays, is the delay between the games being played, and them being broadcasted. It's far far far too long. I know that live games aren't viable online without the production being bad and the possibility of stream cheating, but it should never be as long a gap as it was in IPL1 and IPL2. TSL had the right idea, within a week should be the maximum gap, preferably less. Otherwise, the impact of the result in precisely nil. For IPL3 this should be priority to get sorted out.

This thread is a lesson for all other tournaments out there on how to address criticism proactively.
Well done and look forward to the implementation of the changes.

Slightly off topic, but could you tell me what the music used is during the 'Ad in progress' screen?

100% percent agree with this point. At the same time, I also understand that there is a serious tension between high production quality verses the delay to broadcast, given limited resources.
However, I still think the time between a match played and broadcast needs to be cut down dramatically somehow. For instance, in yesterday's (USA) broadcast, Minigun was referred to as "Root Minigun", even though Root has been disbanded for about 3 weeks now, a little jarring!
Also, recent tournament results and match results are super important for context. Imagine that HuK was participating in the IPL and his match was played before his DreamHack/Homestory wins but broadcast afterward, that would be very important for the viewer to know and understand, but difficult to smoothly incorporate in the broadcast.
Not to mention that strategies are evolving quickly still and might be out-of-date by broadcast.
I don't have a solution or know the right mix, just want to voice my concern.

It's pretty awesome that IGN not only looked at all the issues but took the time to post on TL about their fixes. Nice job kids

Thanks for the updates! There's no better way to get back into the good graces of the community than constant communication. Even MLG which fucked up horribly made a huge comeback because of their communication. Glad to see you guys doing the same thing!
