It's unreal that blizzard hasn't done something about this yet. They should expect things like this to happen, and there should be a system in place to prevent it, and action should be taken swiftly in matters such as this.
And we should really end the speculation as to who is actually drop-hacking, there's really no sense potentially dragging innocent peoples names through the mud. One thing that I'm at least sure of is that Blizzard will be able to identify the real hackers based on the accounts they are using whether they are posing as someone else or not. However, whether they will be able to do it in a timely manner is still up in the air.
I for one won't be laddering until it's fixed, just stick to customs and wait for it to be dealt with imo.

EGidra renamed to EGincontrol apparently
also some guy claiming to be kiwikaki is going to play the hacker and stream it, no idea if it's legit though

I think they will solve this like how they solve the problem back in war3/BW: IGNORE.

I fucking hate the way Blizzard handles stuff like this, they're too slow. In like 2 months they'll announce that 5,000 hackers were banned, and then they'll do nothing for another 5 months.

Didn't blizzard go after some other map hackers claiming that they were ruining players experience of sc2 and therefore will be hurting future sales of expansion packs or something along those lines... no idea what happened about that though.

Its crazy man blizz needs to really do a better job of taking care of these hackers faster

Yeah, I just got dropped by someone named "EGIdrA" XD!

trump is getting drophacked right now, sad that people do this

okay if hacking is so rampant on NA, and this hack externally shows it, this just means there has been massive amount of hackers all this time using other hacks that don't externally show it like drop hack, before this. what a joke.

I got this from a previous case made by blizzard against maphackers. I think the same argument applies.
"The harm to Blizzard from Defendants' conduct is immediate, massive and irreparable," the suit claims. "By distributing the Hacks to the public, Defendants cause serious harm to the value of StarCraft II. Among other things, Defendants irreparably harm the ability of Blizzard's legitimate customers (i.e. those who purchase and use unmodified games) to enjoy and participate in the competitive online experience. That, in turn, causes users to grow dissatisfied with the game, lose interest in the game, and communicate that dissatisfaction, thereby resulting in lost sales of the game or 'add-on' packs and expansions thereto."
Don't know why the case was dropped after 10 days but I think some of the people remain involved in this new hack.

This just happened to me.
The worst thing about all this is that the hackers are just using guest accounts. Blizzard might ban these accounts but it wouldn't be of any consequence at all. If Blizzard can somehow ban IP that might be more of an deterrent. As of now, the hackers can just make another account and keep doing this.
|
Reading this make me sad. Blizzard appearently didn't expect the HUGE negative effect of guest account and the ability to have the same name as anyone on ladder.
This prove that the old way of naming your character works best. Now we just have some huge troll picking up character names from pros and hacking with it.
Also, as someone suggested, guest account should not be able to ladder. Why not lower the hours of guest account to 2 and let them play the campaign? ish

for some reason this reminded me of sc1 where i had like 800-100 because i spammed team games and this guy is like oh good a drop hacker. he then proceded to drop hack me the second the game started and said i was too slow. haha i was like dude i don't hack i just play team games -_-

KiWiKaKi doesn't stream so I don't think it is legit.
