A compromised ladder would be even more problematic for SC2 than for BW, because the SC2 avoided DRM and limited installs, and instead ties CD keys to B.net accounts. If the Blizzard ladder ever dies, byebye all revenue from SC2 sales, ever.
At that point I think an ICCUP style ladder would grow and everyone would just custom. And if the SC2 ladder turned into the War3 ladder level of terrible than Bliz would turn a blind eye and let people play their game - or you know they would fix it :/

I really want to ladder, i'm a gold level player, what are the chances of me actually encountering a hacker??

I guess these hackers were jealous of Huk's mmr. So they had to hack to get as high mmr as him

lower but not impossible seems to be affecting the upper end more than anything (high diamond/low master and above). Most likely due to the fact that the drop hacker will be promoted quickly. This being said its not impossible just far less likely for you. I've been drop hacked 2 times in about 10 games over the past 2 days but I'm at the higher end of diamond so take that little tidbit for whatever you feel its worth.

They still can't get as high as Huk

Sounds like I'm winning here, no rage, only lose to straight up play, have fun with hacks because im not a moralf*g.
Quote straight from a drophacker. Guest accounts are seeming to be the problem, since you can get away scott-free.

is blizz gonna wait out all the hours of trial accounts or fix this?
|
i just got drop hacked... my internet is functioning completely fine and i got dropped and the guy i just played has won his last 10 games in under 2 minutes....

They're working on it. My cousin is a network guy there and he's complained on facebook they're all getting dragged in for overtime. No specifics, but it seems highly likely they're on it.

This is strange if it only happens on NA. I guess it's about time it happens on EU too?

I feel like it should be in Blizzard's capability to ban all accounts associated with an IP address. As opposed to banning the IP address, which can actually be circumvented.

First wave of bans have already been handed out / started. VC said that two of his accounts got banned for maphacking/drophacking. Other people have reported being banned as well.

Good to see something is being done about it so promptly (I hope)

I'm pretty sure they do because it was the same site where public WC3 hacks first originated in and became viral.

How hard is it for them to just sue the people responsible for this then?

Also, a development.
It only accesses RAM It displays things like production tab / minimap on its own window overlays it doesnt touch the SC2 process It's private
good luck bro 6 months no problem as he says though I'm not even sure if something like this makes sense, might just be BSing

Is this only happening on the NA server?
