(/sarcasm) I will wait for the episode after DotA actually proves itself as a legitimate competitive game that organizations want to support via tournaments, teams, etc. I know you will disagree with me, but DotA has made ZERO advancement in terms of a globally popular spotlighted eSports title. I really am not going out of my way to discredit the game(s) at all because I enjoy them casually myself, but I'm definitely not convinced that it will ever be able to exist like BW, CS, Quake, SC2, etc. I really hope I'm wrong, because the features they mention are certainly on the right track. But you can't really eat up Valve's bullshit about eSports so easily. They had the same opportunity to support and advance CS 1.6 at it's prime and they chose to take a very obvious backseat almost to the point of ignoring it. I think DotA 2 will be alot more like TF2, where it appears as if the potential is there, but the actual direction from Valve never let's it get beyond a "casual game that a fuckload of people play". It's also going to be very tough for HoN, LoL, BLC, and DotA 2 to all co-exist, and most certainly not at the same tournaments. I HOPE that the competition between these companies will change the way they all approach eSports. EDIT: since people like to use this single post against me, I just want to throw in an EDIT. I have since educated myself on the struggles of the DoTA community and how they are progressing and transitioning into DOTA2. My spite was more towards the lack of effort that Valve put forth in games like TF2 (which I mention) because i believe that had quite a bit of potential. However, they chose to take a more casual route. i don't want to see games that have competitive potential lost in a sea of casuals. So I do hope the best for DOTA and honestly the entire MOBA scene. jesus christ ... how ignorant u were. I hope you're learning enough about dota 2 before interviewing Y-god tonight

Why don't these episodes go on itunes anymore? It was very convenient to be able to pull the episode up on iphone when traveling.

It's not that hard to just download the episode onto your phone you know. Especially if you're in a wifi area. Just do that if you want to listen to the episode later.

Just do that if you want to listen to the episode later. True its doable but just much less convenient. Or maybe you can help me find a better way. Here are the current options as I see them: 1) Find good connection, load up teamliquid app, navigate to this thread, select link and play. This is fine but the app is fairly clumsy and it can take some time to get it working right on the screen and finding your way around, plus you need to do some searching around and navigating, not good for on the road because it requires dedicated staring at the screen to do this, and it fails when 3G connection not great. 2) Download the file as you described, create separate playlist on itunes, put file in the playlist, sync phone, play when needed. This also doable but requires extra steps at home before the fact. You cannot do it when you're out, has to be all pre-planned. It was far simpler when it just uploaded to itunes, as whether or not I had planned to listen it doesn't matter, just open itunes and its ready to go and can stream and download automatically while streaming. It also catalogues it automatically in a well organized way alongside other podcasts. Any chances this can come back? Is it a cost issue or something?

I don't understand what you mean by "sync phone". I just download it straight onto my phone, I don't know what it means to sync it with the phone. Syncing the phone with what? And downloading may take a while, but most phones have a "last added" category so you can find the mp3 and play it right away, no need to make a separate playlist. And even if you do, making a separate playlist takes all of 30 seconds, if that. Me, I just have a "one song" playlist, and add 1 song/remove 1 song from it when I'm done. I don't use Itunes, but there probably isn't that much more convenience involved, or at least not in the significant sense. And I've never had a problem downloading a ~150 MB file even outside of Wifi area, but I have a 4G phone, so our experience are probably different. And if you're streaming the file as you describe in #1, then you can download/save it on 3G connection and not worry about it skipping. Unless you're worried that the connection might drop and your phone doesn't support resuming downloads natively, but if that's the case, just get a download manager app. And doing anything on the road is difficult, you shouldn't be trying to search and download anything off itunes or anywhere else if you're on the road anyway. And maybe it is a cost issue. I'd like to help but I'm having trouble understanding everything, so please elaborate on the points that kind of confuse me that I talked about in this post.

Basically I'm talking about iPhone, I'm not aware of how to directly download an mp3 onto an iphone. I don't believe there is a 'last added' feature either. It is possible to download onto desktop, move file into itunes on desktop and then sync so it ends up on iPhone. Mobile Safari does not allow direct download of files as far as I know. Likely you are using an android phone? I have no doubt that downloading files like an mp3 directly is easier with non-apple. If this is also easily done on iPhone in some way, please fill me in. As far as road safety, anything can theoretically be a distraction. Itunes has all subscribed podcasts queued up or downloaded automatically, so it's basically a 2-tap process and you're listening, no different than using the radio or hitting go on your GPS.

Well you are right that I'm using an Android. But I would think that Apple, being a very consumer-aware company, would have similar features, especially when they are incredibly basic. For one thing, have you tried Holding Down the link on your touchpad (tapping the link and keeping your finger on it for few seconds) instead of just clicking (tapping it quickly) the link? On Android, anyway, hold down on links like this brings up a list of options such including "Save Link". Other option it brings up are "Open", "Copy URL", and "Select Text", options similar to would pop up if you right-clicked it on a computer. "Save Link" is the one you would want, and it will download the file directly onto your phone. I would have a very hard time believing Apple wouldn't have this basic feature on their browser. Look around the options list a bit. And here's my google search on the subject: https://www.google.com/search?btnG=1&pws=0&q=iphone "save link" safari If it doesn't pop up on Safari if you hold down the link, try out a different mobile Browser. I've heard Dolphin HD is a good one. Also, I would have a very hard time believing Itunes wouldn't have a "Recently Added" or "Last Added" etc. feature on their Playlist. Every mobile phone Music Player I've tried has it. Try looking for it on your Itunes Playlists. If it's not on there, then try a different mobile music player, because I'm pretty sure something like Winamp would be on the App Store, and there's definitely a "Recently Added" Playlist on that since that's one of the mobile music players I use on my phone. This is also a very basic feature that should be on every mainstream mobile music player, and if it's not on Itunes, then Apple is behind the times. I just did a quick google search as well, and from what I can tell, it is a feature on Itunes. Look around for it on the options list, it might be in a section related to playlists. And here's my google search: https://www.google.com/search?btnG=1&pws=0&q="recently added" itunes iphone playlist A lot of the results that pop up are about people accidentally deleting the "Recently added" playlist, so it's probably a feature that's available on itunes and you might not be aware of it.

Thanks a lot for trying to check into it for me. Iphone just doesn't work the same way. The 'recently added' that people are talking about on your google search is for tracks recently added to itunes, in other words, still using itunes. That's my whole issue, lo3 no longer uses itunes. If they used it, I would not need a recently added as it catalogues them very conveniently by default. Yes you would think apple would be consumer oriented, but on the flip side they are very controlling about how you use their devices. Itunes is how they make you store media on the phone. Everything has to done through the itunes store. Most podasts are free through itunes store, you just subscribe and they download for you. For songs you have to pay for each one. Or, you manually put your downloads onto itunes on your PC, sync the phone, and they are on the phone. Because lo3 is no longer in the itunes stores, this is the method one would need to use. It's just extra steps that are not available when away, so I wish they would use itunes again. However, for now I guess it is my only option. I did not realize the cast could be downloaded period before, so at least that's something.

And what does "downloaded period before" mean?
