coL seems like it is the best team he could actually get on. I can't see any team that is as good or better actually wanting a player like destiny unless they just want attention, which is basically saying they don't care about winning, just stream money and selling some product.

His unwillingness to conform even a little is only going to bite him in the ass. At least having him compete in some big tournies made him relevant. Now he is going to struggle to stay in the spotlight outside of his stream.

I can assure you that I have personally spoken with Steven over the past week. I sincerely wanted him to remain on the team but we were given no real option. He refused to participate with the team. Also, it was our full intention on allowing him to speak his mind on his stream but within certain boundaries of professionalism.

I spoke with him personally before this was released and he knew it was coming.

I think he's a good guy but it just didn't work out at this time. I wish him the very best in the future.

We'll parts of this are clearly false. We obviously don't have perfect information but I watched destiny practice with a variety of col members on his stream throughout the last week.

"certain boundaries of professionalism." could mean anything. This pickup was in the midst of destiny very publicly announcing his beliefs on language, and if the contract was written without that in mind it was not intended to succeed in the first place.

Participation doesn't entail playing starcraft with the team, there are other responsibilities Jason is talking about

Now maybe im way off base but from a management perspective and a sponsors perspective isn't it in their best interest to have a player that streams often and draws a lot of viewers?

Destiney might have said some things that shine a negative light on Complexity and his release makes since however to say a team would not pick him up is off base. Any team that has a player that can get as much attention for sponsors like destney can and perform at a high level is gold mine.

Correct me if im wrong, I definitely dont understand the business side of E-sports like I would like but it seems sound. ^^

It would do more than just shed a negative light on Complexity but also their sponsors which is extremely important for a gaming team.

Well they didn't provide many details, but did mention opinions expressed on his stream and "professionalism." Honestly, no one watches Destiny just for his playing ability - he's popular for being wild. Complexity picking him up and expecting him to be a model G-rated player would be as stupid as EG requiring Idra to gg in all of his games.

He was an acquisition as part of a deal... its like when these wow guilds acquire each other to get stronger.. .you always have to take on some jobbers and then you begin immediately looking for reasons to get rid of them without rocking the boat. Destiny is a jobber... he's an okay player, but to be honest its not worth the headache trying to rein him in. Like, can anyone EG having a player like idra, minus the talent? IdrA is popular DESPITE his attitude while Destiny is popular DUE TO his attitude

well no surprise really that his behaviour on his stream was gonna bite him in the butt sooner or later. It's a shame though, he has the potential but needs the environment that comes with being in a team and practicing just like any other player. Hopefully he finds a team soon.

Good for Destiny. Not getting involved with complexity is a good thing for any player of any competitive game. Just a shame root as a whole had to be snatched up.

I wish Complexity would give a real explanation for why it didn't allow Destiny on the team. Just two nights ago on Destiny's stream (I believe Catz was streaming at the same time) I heard Cruncher call Catz a nigger faggot mexican beaner, as a joke. How can you kick out Destiny for not watering down his speech if you don't care about that? It doesn't sound like you're making your players into professionals, more like you're just hiding them from the public eye.

Not good on you coL. Cruncher is a player that brings down you guys image to me, because of this kind of notoriously immature stuff he so naturally exhudes.

I'd hate to derail but complexity is far from your stand up, super mannered organization. They might have adapted that now, being in a new community and all, but they certainly weren't when they had success back in the 1.6 days.

It is in my very humble opinion that we do need players that are willing to go against the aforementioned status quo of what is required for pro teams to flourish... I believe that destiny joined root as they would allow him to grow as a player and improve all the while still allowing him to be the individual that he is. In the aftermath of the merger he believed that the root legacy would carry over to col. and in that i believe he was mistaken. I hope he can find another team that allows him to further grow as a player and allow him to have the outspoken mindset that we all know him for. also inc you are not incorrect in your assumption
For the love of god please counter me.

He was perfectly fine on Root wasn't he?

okay but where is root now?

col doesn't lose anything by getting rid of destiny, he has zero tournament results. and it is sad that he cannot honor the contracts and keep a professional stream...I mean what team will want their player to spew vile stuff to the public? No GOOD team will ever want that. Good riddance imo.

There's probably no team that really want's that, but if Destiny was to change his ways because of a team, he would ultimately loose money, i totally understand why he does not want to be a part of something that makes him change himself, especially when there's money on the line aswell.

was only a matter of time, destiny isn't winning anything anywhere and he's not really presenting a good image of esports or any top tier teams, don't see any top teams willing to pick up someone like him.
