Why do you think Dustin Browder goes around with a terran t-shirt? :D

It's gonna be interesting to test these out on the ladder when they finally are put on the map pool, it seems like going mostly air builds now for protoss or any race is highly suggested, given the fact that almost all maps got so small air distances.

Having played less and less starcraft 2 over the weeks, this won't help me start playing again, that's for sure.
Sc2 ladder has been nothing but a disappointment for me so far, I had a much better time laddering in wc3, even though the matchmaking system is so much better in sc2.

I hope my skill won't drop too much by the time the expansion is released, but then again, that might be a blessing in disguise. Stuck in master league and unwilling to practice hard enough to actually get into GM, it's just too much work, I hope I drop to platinum skill level so I have a goal when laddering again

I hope they fix these maps for you active people, for now, I'll stick to watching replays/streams.

oh god I really hope you can't spawn vertically on test2. that short rush distance + that tiny choke where you'd be attacked from = fuckkkkkkkkkkk. such a bad, bad map if vertical is possible

Blizzard's never fucked with positional spawns, what makes you think they've changed their perspective now? Have they said as much?

also they removed vertical spawns on shakuras, so it's not like it's never happened

edit: fuck I tried it a few times and ended up getting vertical spawns. looks like I know where to put one of my vetoes

Delta probably.. Most likely Slag.. They most likely are not removing close positions, if they do it's just removing the entire map (Metal and ST)...I know David thinks Tal'darim is Toss favored and Zerg Favored Cross positions in ZvT... .. I doubt they will remove Tal'Darim though.. No official word yet though...Chances are you will run out of vetoes though.

I want to know EXACTLY how they alpha test these maps. I want footage. I want to see how Zerg wins with Terran using all of the map aids that are featured.
And I don't mean go light, I mean real ladder style. Bunker rush into Siege pressure from a chasm away. I want to see how an equally skilled Zerg and Terran play so I can say, it's not the map, it's me!

From what I see and what I perceive, it'll take a hero to show us we can win on these maps with equals.

I like both 2v2 maps because of the easy to defend expansion. These days I play quite a bit of 2v2 with my Terran buddy, makes me excited to be able to hatch first while my he closes up the ramp.

No comment on the rest of the maps.

Looks like I'll have to brush up on my two base timings, these thirds look really awkward to take.
Also I think it's kind of retarded of Blizzard to make dedeicated "rush"-maps T_T
Figuring such things out should be left to the players imo~

Gez it must be really tough to be a progamer and living with the ladder.
While the system itself is really good (i think so at least), the mappool is atrocious.
Every tournament that wants to be taken serious isn't using Blizzard maps, so it's incredible tough to practice them really thouroughly. I would be so incredible annoyed.
On top of it, the GSL produces many maps, yet Blizzard thinks they have to create their own shitty stuff. Their approach is mindboggling.

apparently it's to create variety, but what they don't seem to realize is that these maps reduce variety.

you can't play macro style on some of the bad ones (I don't think any of these are that bad though, I'm talking close pos or like steppes), but on a big map you can still rush.

people 6pool and 2rax and 4gate and shit all the time on Tal'darim and it still works! (not all the time obv but it's not impossible or anything). their mentality towards maps is mindboggling
