Take Backwater Gulch as an example. Everyone hates it because it is not Metalopolis. But then again, amazing games were seen on NASL. Take Typhon Peaks compared to Xel'Naga Caverns. Despite each quarter of TP being essentially the same as XNC, people think TP is a bad map - and when I propose a discussion about it, their best argument would be "it is ugly". Slag Pits is regarded as a bad map and I won't deny it - its not like blizz makes the best maps either, but still. Look at this thread. People just have baseless hatred through Blizz and their maps. They don't analize anything at all. They just look at something and say "huh this is bad". They just say "LOL ROCKS R BAD BLIZZ U SUCK LOLOLO" or "OMG RUSH MAP SUCKZZZZ STOP DIS BLIZZ" when the "Rush" map has basically the easiest third ever and a very easily defended natural THANKS to these rocks. They look at the snow maps and say "LOL WHERE YOU GET THIRD" "LOL CLOSE POS IMBA" when there are rocks preventing the closest positions and when there are four bases - and guess what, a third base CAN BE A MAIN BASE. People look at the huge map that is supposed to be used for macro and say "DIS MAP GOOD MACRO MAP GOOD" when the map has TURTLE written over its face, with one area defending all(at least TDA has 2 ramps), in which it is CLEAR that zerg will have a very hard time against turtling opponents(Deathball anyone?) yet people like the HURRR MACRO MAP. Honestly this biased bullshit is ridiculous. And sorry for the rant. | ||
