We don't know yet how these maps will play out. I agree that map 1 and map 2 are disappointing but the 3rd and 4th one look pretty decent. | ||

Without actually loading the map I'll reserve judgment for now. Though it seems popular to complain without testing or really considering the maps, at least take a look at the ramps on these maps. I'd prefer spawning close positions on a small/medium map with ramps facing away from my opponent anyday. Metal/shattered/lost temple close positions are all terrible for this reason. Maps look okay. Not stellar, not up to par with GSL maps assuredly but you know...they have an agenda for their ladder and that's why you can play custom games and veto maps. | ||

They are all 4 base, ramp to natural, hard to take/hold 3rd and a moderately open middle with xelnaga towers. Why does there have to be rocks everywhere on their maps, this is just annoying and frustrating. Why don't they think outside of the box a little bit; How about some 2 or 3 person maps for starters. Try a map without gold minerals or rocks blocking bases for once. How about less ramps or 1 gas/rich gas expansions. Anything to provoke some new unique gameplay. Unfortunately all we get is more of the same. Like many I am more interested in what is coming out of the pool, personally I would like to be done with Scrap and Delta. It would be really nice to be able to play GSL maps on ladder as well. I have played a few LANs now and guess what, they use GSL maps in the map pool, and it would be great to have more access to play games on these maps, but it just seems like it won't ever happen. | ||

I still don't understand why Blizzard needs to make "rush" maps. You can rush on any map. Making a map smaller and rush friendly just makes the game less fun for those who don't like to rush and rewards play most view as not fun. You can 7pool or bunker rush on Tal'Darim just as well as on Steppes, but you aren't only limited to that, as is it looking like on some of these. Kerrigan's Wrath looks awful. Vertical spawns are literally 1-2 tank leapfrogs to the opponent's natural. Hopefully that map doesn't make it out of testing, because it could potentially be as bad as Steppes and Delta (Worse than Delta even, you don't get a free natural in this map). Well, as long as Slag Pits, Delta, and Scrap Station are gone and they don't touch my Shakuras, I will be okay with these changes. | ||

Yeah seriously I don't get why they feel that there needs to be maps *made* for rushes. Rushes are meant to be risky, and you are supposed to be pretty behind if they fail - And most rushes work reasonably well on just about every map. The only ones that it might not work as well on are like Tal'Darim or Shakuras, but having a couple like that is pretty reasonable. Even then, if you wanted to super-cheese and proxy stuff you could.. | ||

Blizzard needs to accept the fact that it's mapmaking team is terrible and start implementing icCup/GSL/GSTL maps like everyone else in the world. | ||
