My first any kind of fantasy league I take part in but damn it wish I would have put more thought into this, only ended up with +1 after first day. + Show Spoiler +Was counting on Guineapig either losing or not playing so put him in my anti-team. Also thought Boxer wouldn't show up so ended up removing him from the team in the end. Also I didn't take into account the fact that Slayers may actually lose..
I probably also took way too many ogs players into my original team seeing that they won't be playing for a while.

I didn't think players would change in value so much, I feel silly for choosing a player who starts in week 3 now. Also how come Genius and Keen have lost value? All the other MvP players who didn't play sightly gained in value.

because players of lower values actually played

I don't understand how anyone could not have picked DRG. I'm an idiot, that's why. Ugh, only got one point this week. But since my points are spread out everywhere it should increase very slowly over the season. I'm not a fan of putting most of your points into a single player and team. I'm just going to rain all over your parade and point out that extreme savvy trades can get your points to constantly go up week by week instead of just a slow increase. I can understand not picking DRG though. I didn't expect him to do that well, tbh. And the GanZi game was pretty close. If GanZi won, then he would've been worth the same as DRG for half the points initially. DRG just seems really hard to snipe, which is a really good quality to have. Not that slowly. IM and ST are playing tomorrow, and I think Squirtle/Younghwa should do very well in their matches. But this is my first time in FL, trading tips would be helpful. ^_^ I was hesitant on him for a while and decided to pick Polt instead. Prime's roster is somewhat weaker than MVP's and they will rely on him just as much as DRG. MVP already beat their toughest opponent and their mid-tier players should look better for the rest of the season. I'm just hoping they put Violet out for ZvZ and ZvP, but god...so many terrans in the Jupiter Group. >_<
A lot of it seems to be based on which teams are actually playing, and which players those teams will play. That means some of the "worse" players that exist in a team without very many of that player's race will play.
An easy example would be picking a SlayerS terran. Those are probably not going to get too many points, because of how many good terrans there are. For instance, GanZi, Ryung, MMA, BoxeR are all clearly shown to be playable for SlayerS, which means it's fairly unlikely for the SlayerS terran you chose to rack up a killstreak for mad points. MMA is probably overpriced for this reason, they're unlikely to send him out early, in order for other players to get experience, and also to use him as a trump card.
I think Polt will actually prove to be a good choice, the problem with Polt is that MarineKing is in the same team, so there's two terrans vying for ace position, which is kind of rough again on how often they'll show up and how many wins they'll make.
EDIT: To expand on the Polt situation a bit more, you either want Prime to send Polt out early and for him to destroy a lot of players, or for MarineKing to not win too many games if he's out. Kinda weird to root against a teammate, but wins are worth more than the entire team winning.

I hear you. This is my first time doing a fantasy league thing of anykind though, I chose my dream team of Foreigners and OGS members but in hindsight, I should have chosen players who played in the first week or two, then traded them... Oh, well I'll just have to wait till next season, I'm sure it will still be fun.

Don't be too downhearted, it's possible to generate a lot of points without any trades too. And just play against your friends, instead of playing against everybody. Because there's a shit ton of people on TL forums.

I actually don't think you need to trade that much. Maybe to pick up Soccer or Moon when F.United's time comes, but other than that I'll just trade good players who have been underperforming.

Oh, well I'll just have to wait till next season, I'm sure it will still be fun. I've played fantasy football before, but the players don't change in value by so much so fast. If a high points player scored a hat-trick in football they'd probably gain in a value by a fair amount, but DonRaeGu is 135% of what he cost after 1 game, and its not like its a sudden surprise that he's that good. I think I prefer this format because it encourages clever transferring week to week.

So because Violet and Noblesse played, the players who cost more points than them and didn't play all lost value. I think that makes Ryung and Ganzi less valuable than they appear to be, just because they're by no means guaranteed to get put in, and if Taeja, Min or Frozen gets put in and they don't then they'll go down in value.
edit:I've just thought now. The value of our players is now irrelevant right? I assume as long as we trade down (or up in the case of anti-team players) it doesn't matter if we go over the limit. Also do players change by a flat rate, or exponentially. I'd guess exponentially where it converges, but never reaches, 0 and some predetermined upper limit. Or can we have players, who still have games to play, with a value of 0, and players who are worth absurd amounts of points?

Hmm...I chose Taeja because he was cheap and he's been performing exceptionally well over the last few months. He destroyed MarineKing and nearly beat July in the CotH finals, so I thought SlayerS would be more willing to use him.
I still believe MarineKing will be reserved to be the final ace: he's been more consistent than Polt over the seasons. Any opposing team will be hesitant to use a Protoss against Prime, and Polt's TvT is much stronger than it's been in the past.

Glad that DongRaeGu did well today, he was actually on my anti team originally.
I actually switched Alicia + Creator with GuMiho + CoCa, hopefully it will pay off. Alicia did so well today, probably a bad move on me.

I didn't pay attention to the schedule and picked soccer... Anyone has any suggestion about who i should trade him for ? I need a one point player that has acceptable chances of getting 3 points (to offset the trade penalties) from weeks 2 to 5. I already have HuK. Maybe NuclearfOu ? oGsJookto ? Or an FXO player ? (I don't know them very much).

Just curious, when the starting lineup for eah week are released, will that increase the trade value of those starting players? Because then It might be a good idea to pick up who you think will start ahead or the curve.

Oh, we had to actually enter it into that thingy and not just randomly post our team in here, well I balls'd that up didn't I...

Perhaps it's standard in this new tournament?

How many points does a team get for a win, is it 2? Also looking at the person in first place how did guinea pig get 4 points, that makes no sense.

GuineaPig broke a 2-streak and earned two extra points. How many points a team gets for a win depends on the score. It's all stated in the rules.
