It's not like recruiting PainUser and HD Starcraft is going to make them gosu and make them win tournaments, they're just doing it for the attention in my opinion. time can only tell I guess - we've done pretty decent thus far. MLG is I guess the only place people look to results

No, I read through a lot of the comments. You typed out your reply to a similar question as I was typing up mine. In fact, I was somewhat surprised that there wasn't a lot more of the "flaming". At least you addressed it in a timely manner.

well even tho HD doesn't have much done in competitive play just him being in the team is good promotion for them as he's pretty big in the sc2 community, i would say good move there

VP who? Also HD is worse than almost any pro player, why would u sign him on as a player? :S

Nice commercial signings if not playing signings. HD will give a lot of exposure for the team, and I suppose PainUser will too given his new role in the community.
I wonder which team will sign Husky as a trophy signing now.

it makes sense for marketing though, HD is very popular on youtube and what not he can bring great exposure to like any team he joins.

The way PainUser has been talking on various broadcasts lately, it seemed like he was at a point where work consumed so much of his life that he was unable to devote the time and energy required for competitive gaming even if he wanted to. NASL scheduling aside, he kept saying how he was getting out of competitive gaming and that by the time he got home from work, he was always so tired that he would just go to sleep so I find this news surprising and confusing to say the least.
I'm actually curious to know how he can expect to maintain competitive performance given his recent statements about his lack of time and energy and what VP is actually expecting from him as far as results go.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's decided to keep competing. I'm just confused because he's been talking like it was just a physical impossibility rather than any lack of desire.

Great addition!! I look forward to training with the both of you.

willpower can go a long way.
We have had conversations about this and it has been addressed a few times in this thread (please check GeneralHans replies, he has mentioned it a few times). He will be practicing and getting back to form and will be playing and representing our pro team.

Really awesome news nice to see VP getting bigger and bigger!

Wow this is amazing go Painuser and VP!

These two are great pillars in the community, I've been hard on Painuser, but now I'm indifferent. Congratulations to HD and Painuser!

Human beings have limits and willpower alone doesn't mean much when faced with hundreds of others with just as much willpower and talent, but more time to practice and prepare. We're all aware of what PainUser is capable of when he's in form, but the question is really whether he can possibly get back to anywhere close to his previous form given the massive reduction is potential practice time since he's no longer a full-time gamer. Unless he's going to be limited to playing in minor LAN tournaments, I think it's difficult to expect PainUser to perform up to par with the current field of professionals given his situation.
Pretty much all that's been said was "he's going to be practicing", but there's really been nothing explaining what kind of performance you're realistically expecting out of him and how he's going to be achieving that without negatively impacting his job performance (which things like sleep deprivation tend to do). Will he be participating in major tournaments such as MLG? How does that fit in with his responsibilities at IGN? More information would definitely be appreciated because I could talk all day about cutting my sleeping hours or other aspects of my life to do something else, but the truth is that everything you cut will have consequences and there's only so much a person can actually bear before burning out or breaking.

Nice!!! Congratz to HD and Painuser!

I'm gone for one day and you sign on of the top free agents in North America (and Painuser to boot .) If this is what happens when I go away, then I should go away more often. GL VP!!

The only reason I bothered listening to Painuser was because he played Starcraft 2 at a high level. He's not a Starcraft Broodwar legend, or even a notable figure from some other gaming scene. Now, as NASL has shown, he's not very good. So why would any Starcraft 2 team sign him? He's not good, and he's not good to listen to.

welcome to the team Painuser and HD!! look forward to meeting you both!!! VP Fighting!
