HD is actually a very promising player when he practices. At the last MLG he competed in he almost took down Spades with no preparation. And I don't think I even have to get into how much raw talent PainUser has. VP's future is looking pretty good. MLG Anaheim will be sick!

I can't help but feel like more and more players that aren't deserving keep getting teams. I'm looking to "get more and more competitive" as well, but I don't have a mediocre youtube casting career that's loved by a ton of people who don't mind inability to analyze the game. Pretty soon we'll see TotalBiscuit on a team as well. I can understand Painuser because he has a history being a solid performer when he practices, but you can find much better talent that wants it and deserves it more than HDstarcraft.

This is similarly frustrating to root's B team getting signed by complexity. They sign root and lose their only 2 decent players in the process. Glad we get to see more of catz not showing up to MLG games under a different tag. Lots of bad players getting signed because they're popular names and not because they actually deserve it.

Good luck to Painuser though, would love to see him compete and do well again.

Jealous much ? If having multiple hundred thousand subscribers is so easy casting SC2, why are only a handful of guys at this level ? Calling him mediocre tells me more about you than about him, imho.

What? HDstarcraft is considered a player?

Nice for Painuser tho, but I don't know if he can train a lot with his job.

^_^ My first thoughts.

As I mentioned he is looking to become more and more competitive

After he claims he is going to quit playing competitively he wants to become more and more competitive? I find it ridiculous that he "quit" NASL and didn't show up for many of his games and now he wants to get back into it? Pretty flaky.

HDstarcraft isnt actually that good
painuser rocks though
glad youve helped him out

VP is not a top-tier foreigner team either, so it is not that big of a deal. Great to see HD and Painuser in a team with people to work with, I hope a team can sign HuskyStarCraft into it as well as their caster or something.

Like I said we can just look to the future; however, we are all human and capable of changing our minds. That's a good thing! The ability to have a free will hehe. Either way when he had been talking on ITG, this hadn't been talked about yet. PainUsers dedication to this team is already evident from day 1 and I hope we can all just wish him success.

I am confused why you guys would sign them, considering they work so they don't have time to play. Seems like a gigantic waste of money, their are better ways to get your team more popular.

They are both looking to become more and more competitive and also maintaining their current roles in the community - we wish them the best. They have amazing potential and PainUser has already shown what he can do when he truly sits down to practice. Hopefully it can continue!

You can't juggle both, just look at Artosis. When he streams and commentates you get a glimpse into his deep understanding of the game. His reactions are always perfect. However, as the games go further into the late-game you can just see his mechanics failing him as he begins floating 2k+ mins and simply being unable to keep up in that aspect. Or you can look at Polt and his struggling in the GSL while he was juggling university and SC2, then his total domination once he was able to commit 100%. You can't have other commitments if you want to play SC2 at the highest level.

Hmmm painuser seems pretty commited to his job, i dont even think he is that commited to go back to playing, and even so he has a 9-5 job now making it alot harder for him to get to be a top level progamer. Also hd has only played 3 ladder games since the reset months ago =/

seems like a wierd pickup neither of these guys have seemed that commited to being players in the proffesional scene over the past few months.

Wonder how PainUser is going to compete professionally with his full-time job at IGN. They wouldn't even let him play his NASL games at work for Pete's sake. Maybe they're finally realizing that that kind of exposure is exactly what they want as it allows him to gain valuable insight into the scene that most commentators don't have. The same goes for HD.

Though, I suppose it could backfire if they perform poorly. But any publicity is better than no publicity.

Congrats and good luck.

Good news. I hope to see Painuser getting back to his old self, but as for HD I think this is even a greater opportunity. If he decides to start practicing more and getting into tournaments, then he now has a chance to practice accordingly.
However, if HD decides to keep more along the side of casting, that's great too - because he'll be able to stick to casting more of VP games, learn more from the team, and start offering casts with more analysis. Maybe even get some of the players as co-casters to cast their own games - that way we can get true insight into their play. Looking forward to this!

Congratulations! It's nice to see more teams sprouting up. PainUser is definitely a good pick, but I'm curious as to why HD was picked up as a player.
