Good job guys, i've had a great time in the normal clan since I joined last month, and have loved watching our pro team play in live streams. Cant wait to see these two as well!
I'm a gooner.

have you heard of MLG Dallas 2010?

Or have you read why this "not so good player" has lost all his NASL matches? Scheduling conflicts dont allow him to play his matches, every loss is a forfeit.

Or even has he heard of anyone improving? Or getting back to their old form? Like someone else mentioned, this is like saying that Polt was terrible when he was juggling university (though obviously NA is on a lesser scale overall).

Oh, you don't mean the MLG Dallas 2011? Where he went 1-3 in the group stages then lost to Vibe? I guess you're talking about the one which was played 7 months ago.

I know Painuser forfeited some matches, purportedly because he couldn't play at work.
Yet, on painuser's blog he says "I was also given a brief moment to play my NASL match from work, which is awesome. A few of my co-workers looked on and cheered for me."

http://www.ign.com/blogs/pain.user

Then later he says:

"My boss had made it very clear this is not ok to play matches from work." I guess his boss told him after the game against drewbie. But, being serious for second, if he had the remotest chance to win the NASL he would have found a way to play them. He certainly found a way to lose to Zenio after getting the job. But maybe he wasn't giving it his all. After all he had already lost to Cloud, Socke, Sen, Idra, and the aforementioned Drewbie.

Painuser has no old form to get back to. His last victory of consequence came weeks after Starcraft 2 came out, and his last tournament placing of consequence came a few months later. During neither of these performances did he show top-level mechanics, amazing micro, or unique builds. He did use thors and banshees late game PVT.

Sure he can improve, but he was a C+ BW player. He's got a long way to go.

HD is actually a really strong Zerg player; I remember watching him play at MLG and putting up a VERY good fight against the Professionals and even winning a series; even though Lazarus Gaming picked up him a week beforehand.

HD FIGHT-TING!

@-_-
Painuser is one of my favorite terrans because he's consistently solid in all of his matchups. As soon as he gets any momentum in tournaments he rolls through opponents. He's just really busy right now with his IGN duties (How was he supposed to make money when he doesn't have a team?). There's no reason for ANYONE to hate on him for not going BC's and nukes or stubbornly macroing (and making terrible decisions) like Machine.

Now that he has a team ease financial difficulties, he's going to !@#$ over everyone in all the pro leagues.
Throw on your favorite jacket and you're good to roll. Stroll through the trees and let your miseries go.

All I wanna say is that I have no respect for Painuser and I think he we will not win anything.

But HD! thats sick that he finally has a team.

I'm really stoked to see how Faith does. For someone who basically just started playing SC2 and RTS's in general it is pretty fricken amazing that he is playing at this high a level.
I kinda miss Idra...

Yeah Faith is a solid player, when we picked him up a few months ago he had only picked up the game a few months before and had watched gsl, went from unranked with no RTS background to Masters in a week, continued his rise. We recruited him and pushed him to ladder more, he went on a 30 win streak TEAR and just got Grandmasters. laddered his way up to #10 on the Grandmaster list before he had to go camping, expecting him back monday to continue to tear up the ladder.

Also, almost all of our team will be at MLG Anaheim so look for us there to tear it up :D

Honestly, I find this to be such a retarded example of fanboyism. You say painuser is a shit player, and then because you love HD, you're only glad for him. As good as HD is, Painuser is by far better than HD. Personally, I believe there were 2 reasons for signing HD:

1) Publicity - HD is one of the top 5 casters on youtube, therefore to get more reputation for VP, they signed him.

2) Painuser-HD are Friends - These two are really good friends, and Painuser would not join without HD.

Win win for both parties.

VP is not well known and recruiting HD and painuser (even with the controversy) will only help them in the publicity department.

Painuser and HD also benefit.
Not sure there's a well established team that would touch PU right now, given the lack of professionalism in he displayed in the NASL. HD isn't known as a competitive player so no competitive team would seriously consider him either.

VP isn't well known anyways so its great they have some pieces to start off and work with.

Uhhh, i think they picked them up for other reasons, not because they are good at the game. For instance, FXO has wolf on their team and I think he's like gold league. They are community reps that is nice to have on a team.

people are always such critics lol, they are both good guys and obviously were glad to have them on board. I swear some people take little sound bites they hear way to seriously.

Long story short easy with the hate people, painuser has more then explained what lead to him not being able to play NASL a bunch of times on multiple platforms. People take little sound bites and claim oh he could of should of this that.

Reality is sometimes life is not as simple as you'd like it to be...he got the 9 to 5 job with IGN, the NASL match scheduling didn't mesh with that...he got to play 1 game from work but his bosses didn't want him to continue playing all his matches...which is reasonable IGN has stake in him as an employee not a pro gamer. Thus without special scheduling for all his matches outside of work hours he could not longer participate which NASL apparently was unable to do...the end.

No grand conspiracy to deprive you all of him playing in the NASL or anything goofy like that....also it's pretty well known in LG's last days it wasn't like he had a super solid team to practice with. So now him and HD join VP where they can practice against good players when they are not at work, and sure up anything they need to in order to be in tournament shape.

In case you guys doubt the ability of some of the other guys you don't yet know from VP, many of them have won or placed extremely high in multiple online tournament platforms...Chance just recently won the Tactic 3D pro am, and then was playing against top tier talent in the next day.

This team has no where but up to go from this point forward, and we have a really good bunch of people and strong players to support that endeavor.

People are reading into this too much thinking that HD and Painuser are just noobs who got picked up because they're famous.

Has anyone watched their games at all?
HD was one of the first Zergs to utilize the Baneling drop and fungal workers on probe lines way before it got popular recently

Painuser wasnt terrible last year I don't get all the hate in here lol. Sure he's struggled lately and hasnt had good results but it's because he's been doing other things (Like working for IGN????) he's done a ton for the sc2 community and is a nice guy people should appreciate that...

As long as HD actually practices, he could do well. I'm going to be optimistic! GL!

Imagine Painuser reading some crap like that, are you purposely trying to get people demotivated. you are entitled to your opinions, but no reason to say anything but "good luck painuser! " in your position.
