It is an international game and the steps taken to embrace that are better than "stay in Korea so we can win our own leagues." This isn't the MLB before the racial barrier was broken down and we had negro leagues and regular leagues. This is an international community and should be a game without borders. Doesn't this foster further cross-border rivalries to expand the game even more with Idra-MC type rivalry? I think its a sign that the international community needs to tighten up their builds and keep improving to catch up to the play of the Koreans if they don't want to see their own tournaments won by the Koreans.

If we follow this belief then there would never be any new pro players ever. Its incredibly hard to make it as a pro in korea, not only is there a lack of tournaments to provide some income, but the competition there is much harder then here (as we have observed). To support this I would also say that koreans are more motivated not because there is more money in korea, but because the competition is fierce and they must be able to compete if they wish to become pros. At the end of the day it comes down to practice, sure SC2 may not require as much practice as BW and perhaps 12 hours of practice only helps to improve your game 1-2%, but that 1-2% can (and obviously does) make a difference.
