If anyone could calmly respond without getting all pissy that I'm not super hyped for this expansion... how exactly did this info surpass peoples expectations and get them really excited. The single player is largely going to be the same, and not many features are changing. It's basically exactly what anyone should have expected...

Blizzard meant that if they add new units they will remove existing ones and replace them with new ones.

Ya I couldn't agree more... it just becomes a balancing act in PvZ and PvT... and they are a boring unit to watch.

i'm also hoping the nydus worm gets a huge buff, like, idk, faster build time, and upgrade to pump out units faster, idk... but THAT seems super underused.

Did they really say that they were going to remove some units? I did not expect that at all , it would be a really big move, I really hope they will remove the colossus (which is a units with a really bad game design). But I guess you would need to remove units from terrans and zergs as well...

as a Protoss player I really hope now they're removing the colossus. it's just an aweful unit. This would open so much possibilities and maybe would make protoss a more fun race to play.

Well, in broodwar they were more useful because detection was part of the standard game rather than having units that instantly killed you because you didn't have detection. With mines and lurkers hanging around they were a requirement. And due to thier low health, observer sniping was pretty common. Id say its a good unit as long as it has something to do more than looking at unit compositions, scouting, and preventing you from dieing to DTs. If that's the only thing an observer does, then its boring(like in PVP in broodwar)

I like the colossus... but to avoid the stalemate predictable battles, it would be cool to see it made a lot stronger, move a lot slower, and shoot a lot slower and be slower to construct. This way they would be peppered into a military ball as a seige unit, instead of as a backbone that you have to babysit and you either win or lose based on if the enemy has Vikings/Corrupters.

Removing the unit itself is a huge leap (and a huge mistake imo), and I can't really see that happening... nor should it. It's cliffwalking has huge strategic uses, and it can be hit by ground attacks and air attacks.... I would just like to see it turn into a true seige unit instead of requiring 8 of them to insta dominate. 1 or 2 in an army delivering static d busting abilities, or forcing the opponent to move would be very cool.
