And those two "advisors"... What's up with them? :p

Where's the zerg?

One advisor is pretty cool I guess. It's an infested adjutant (cyborg). At least so I heard.
I'm not really a fan of them, though I kind of understand why they chose to bring them in.

Queens being a sort of replacement of cerebrates is a pretty cool idea to me.
I'd like them to be more zerg-like and less evil-human-like.

There were several units in the WoL campaign that were only in the campaign. Goliaths, Firebats, Diamondbacks, Medics, Vultures, Specters, Wraiths. Also the last couple levels of WoL didn't have new units so it's really not that much.

Unless you're worried about only 6 actually new units, which seems like a reasonable number.

Oh good point. Forgot the char missions didnt have new units.

Yeah, I'm sure this thought process goes through every zerg player's head:

Hmm, I could expand right now, but what I really wish for is a flying doofus who can detect and goop things...

Just saying... Even if that number was like 200/25 we wouldn't see more overseers. Because when do you REALLY need them? Only for detection really.

uh if they were 200/25 mass contaminate would probably be standard every game in every zerg matchup.

you forgot scourge and a flying spellcaster (SC1 queen), that leaves 4 (or more) new units to be invented and revealed.

personally I would like a hive tech unit that costs 1 supply.

imagine: a massable hive tech unit.

That's a little presumptuous. I realize everyone on team liquid is an amazing student of SC2 that plays at grandmaster level and knows every single nuance of game play and the mechanics, but if we could refrain from talking straight from the ass all the time that would be great.

Another thing, starting a response with "uh' just makes you sound like a pre-teen going through her first cycle.

Oh no DT expand! OH NO HE MADE ENOUGH DTs TO ONE SHOT SPORES! I know! I'll make a oversee... crap.
Good thing the game balancers aren't so rash.

Why did Kerrigan glow orange? Good question. I'm going to assume or pretend or whatever that its related to spending years and years inside organic materials and flying around in a leviathan.

You guys know how in the beginning, the overmind captured new species and infested them into the swarm? Zerglings were akin to dogs and Guardians were giant friendly space manta rays?

What the hell happened to that idea? Everythings a mutation of something prior now Or even a genetic experiment. Sorry, I forgot none of that matters now that the Dark Voice is behind everything.

Thanks for the article! I'm nervous about Blizzard taking out units, especially if the reason for doing so is that they are not cool enough. It seems logical that expansion units should add new elements to the game rather than replacing old ones. But it's pointless to make any harsh judgments until the final product is out.

I have a few concerns, even though it looks pretty good in general

Very, very disappointed with only 20 missions. I'm pretty sure they said 30 a while back, didn't they? I'll probably crush the SP in one day. Vanilla and BW had 30 mission each

Also Kerrigan looks pretty bad/simplistic - hopefully it's an early render.

You actually think people would pay 400/25 on top of the original 100 for the overseer just for contaminate?

I think you'd see overseers even less than you do now. It's not THAT bad to build the overseer when you need to currently. Choosing between expanding and building an overseer tho? That's a pretty fricken easy choice.

Dustin Browder said that he learned a lot about balancing the game for e-sports so hopefully that means he's working on a balanced multiplayer instead of putting in cool Command and Conquer-like units.

Omg someone in the audience said 'vulture' when listing non-useful units T_T Im guessing he thought Browder was listing useful units rather than not-so-useful, since the Dark Archon and Valkyrie werent SO bad in terms of how much they were used (Scouts and ghosts probably the two strongest examples?).
