from just a fanboy's perspective, single player focus will be awesome. I really enjoyed hero missions, and chargelings sound fucking awesome XD. Kerrigan clearly hasn't lost her zerginess, and might still be the queen of blades inside. I just hope they dont make a black and white, single dimension, transition of her new persona. Playing the backstab card from broodwar would be lame. I'd like to see more character development from a expansion dedicated to single player. That said, from what i've seen in WoL, my expectations will probably be dashed against the wall. I hope they really do a better job with the sound. With a terran campaign units can get away with sounding similar in tone/voice, but speak different words. With a zerg campaign....well they really need to live up to the broodwar standard of sounds to make it truly immersive. | ||

Game's just not doing it for me. Haven't played SC2 at all for months (though I still play a lot of BW) and I don't see this drawing me back in. I'm cool with the idea that it's me and not the game, and as always, we'll see! I gave in and bought SC2 after all, though I ended up regretting it | ||

They seem to be looking at improving Tier 1 scouting for all the races, though they're also going to be careful and examine the evolution of the metagame before making final design decisions. | ||

I'm actually surprised at the number of multiplayer questions that got through, though. I think it's logical for them to give a preview of single-player first, especially since any multiplayer changes are extremely controversial and sensitive. It's easy to throw together a bunch of imba ideas for single-player, but multiplayer ideas require a lot more thought and care considering how sensitive the competitive scene is to the multiplayer design and any changes that might occur. According to the Q&A, the development process only recently started, and I don't want Blizzard to troll the community by revealing half-baked multiplayer ideas and spark many threads of controversy only to scrap those ideas later on during development. I personally don't want to see a situation similar to the reveal of the scrapped Soul Hunter unit from the horribly outdated Protoss unit reveal. | ||
