That would be nice. I wish stupidity wasn't such commonplace. I guess it's easier to be stupid and ignorant than smart and educated so many people spend their lives as the former.
But it's worth mentioning TL does have a lot of intelligent posters, thankfully.

WTF does stream viewer numbers on anything but starcraft streams even have to do with ANYTHING?

IDK I turned it off since morrow wasn't streaming it was someone else. All it was is destiny arguing with himself to his stream. Telling himself how right he is about everything and how stupid and ignorant everyone else is.

Simple argument as to why we'll never see Starcraft have the numbers it did in the beta-era, and why that is ok. There are far more choices in streamed content for people to watch so the viewership online has diffused accordingly.

Its not all about getting esport big for us. I dont care how much pro gamers make a month. I dont care how many views their stream has. I want an awesome rts to play. You guys think sc2 community is the e-sport community but you are wrong.
This is the gamer community and esport is only a small and not the import part of it. Esport dont define or feed the community. The gaming community feed esport!
Sc2 has big problems and even the last one is sick of waiting for blizzard. And yes we have to wait because they are the only once who can fix the mayor problems. We all know they will not fix it, so we all know they will not make it good.
So we are left with a decent game that could have been awesome. Thats the problem. Not that its not free or dont have micro-transitions. This are methods to get money out of your playerbase not to build up a playerbase! The problem is not to get the "causal" in. If you make a good game you get many people. This "causal" argument is just a arrogant word to let other people think you are better than the majority and not only in playing the game.
If they fail to make a good game than no one is interested in the addon and the future. Not the "causal" and not the hardcore gamers. Only because you played bw for 10 years and sc2 for 2 dont mean you have to stick with it. People waiting for the awesome rts. We all hoped that sc2 will turn out to be it. Sadly its time to realise we have a better chance waiting for an other company to develop an new rts than waiting for blizzard to relearn how to do it. Your talking for all of us as if your sure whats best, I dont care about your deluded post You quote every post you dont care about? No person can talk for a group. I talked for the once that agree with me. Obvious not for you. On the other hand: If you thought i do speak for you, perhaps i did.

Good for you, you don't care, way to add to the thread. I felt he made a few good points
Also wow, this 'SC2 is dead' nonsense is really, really obnoxious. Perhaps it is on the decline, or will assume a niche later on in the E-sports scene. It's not dead though, not by a long shot, I doubt KESPA would have switched over to playing it en masse if they weren't going to try and push it hard in Korea for example.
How's that even an entirely bad thing? A small, dedicated, non-retarded following is preferable for many people over a large, obnoxious, retard-fuelled community.

Well that is one way to make sure the other guy wins the argument, have a massive melt down instead of attempting serious debating. Desintey raises some good points at times, but at other times he acts like a spoiled child.

If there is an increase of number of people watching gaming streams, why isn't there an increase in the SC2 viewership, at least on a noticeable scale? Doesn't that actually reinforce Destiny's statement? That people aren't interested in SC2 streams, and instead tuning into other game genres?

I used to think Painuser was kind of annoying but now I see he's probably the smartest one. InControl and Idra are being too passive to blizzards faults and laziness which doesn't help improve the scene at all. Painuser is thinking more how can they work with Blizzard.. this episode changed my view on all of them a bit tbh.

To be clear, I'm not even watching his stream, I was tuned into the morrow stream and overhear his petty whiney bullshit. viewers are up for twitch because LoL came into the picture Viewers are up because all the games. What is with this idea that LoL is the only thing that matters? It's cool that you like LoL but don't be fucking ignorant. The NFL isn't going anywhere just because soccer is the largest sport on the globe. im just saying it's irrelevant dj wheat saying numbers are up on twitch. Im saying numbers are up on twitch because of LoL. REMEMBER WHEN IDRA GOT 8-10 K VIEWERS ADAY? now he gets barely 3 k he even had over 20k at some points. Yeah, back in beta when there were not 10 tournaments running every week and a multitude of people streaming, not to mention that most people couldn't play themselves at that point. There are no less sc2 fans, there is just way more possibility these days to pick the tournaments that fit your schedule and there are more streamers. not in beta, last year. I won't respond that that explicitly because I do not recall IdrA having 20k stable viewers at any point where there were multiple good foreigner zergs. IdrA used to stream way less than now, he was in the gsl code s, he was the only notable foreigner zerg and a foreigner fanfavorite.
The bottom line is however that taking one players stream count and comparing it between now and a year or two years ago does not tell you anything more than that this person now has less viewers than before. Which is a meaningless comparisom if the point is to illustrate that something is wrong with the game. The only way to get useful data would be to have long term sc2 viewer stats for all streams and tournaments. Then being able to average the result and even out any unnatural spikes. One thing is for sure, Destiny does not have those stats. The only person who has any kind of credible access to numbers like that is Wheat, and he says the game is fine. I have to listen to what the guy with the numbers is saying.

And also, to the ItG crew as well as all the other Starcraft personalities that have taken a measured approach to all of this drama: thanks for keeping your heads on straight and being realistic about your expectations. It's good to know that not everyone has gone completely crazy over the last two weeks.

Ok the numbers aren't amazing for individual streams these days, unless it's an MKP or whatever, but there's a lot of spread throughout the various streamers that we have.

Isn't that quite obvious? Starcraft 2 has been around for 2 years. There is not an infinite growth of e-sport fans but the fastest most immidiate growth comes from people who are into competitive rts. Most of those people have already started watching sc2 so the numbers obviously plateau. League is just coming to the competitive market which means that all of the competitive moba fans who watched nothing are piling in now to watch. It is going through the same growth that sc2 did 2 years ago the two games are just going through the same phases but at different times. When the majority of people who have always wanted to see competitive moba have started watching League or dota2, then those numbers plateau too.

I must say, I lost a bit of respect for Incontrol and Idra after this episode, but oh well. I can still see where they're coming from

Not necessarily. New people may be drawn to live streaming to watch non-Starcraft 2 games. And even for people that are Starcraft 2 loyalists, they will be watching strictly less of it because they now have other choices. Concretely, two years ago, if I wanted to watch a stream, Starcraft was my only option. However now, I have my choice of a variety of games as well as presentation formats (pro gaming sessions, talk shows, and others).
