I just hope it won't fuck up the whole scene. Interesting to hear what the pro's say.

I tried to call in but couldn't get through. I feel like the existence of the unit is going to shut down a lot of terran openers in the TvP matchup, since it copies all upgrades the unit has even if terran hasn't researched them yet. He opens banshees and you can cloak banshee harass him, even if he hasn't researched cloak yet. EDIT: Oh shit, 3,000th post.

But seriously. I realize that the oracle and arc cannon could be tweaked and used to be the most op things in the universe. However, that's not going to last for very long, and I worry that it's going to vacillate very quickly between extremely strong and extremely weak. Think about the oracle, it's a point and click mining denier. You make that too strong and the other races will blow a gasket, make it too weak and it won't be worth the pixels it was rendered in. The Zerg units seem very well designed to me. I can easily see them being strong yet not ridiculous (barring a few BC shenanigans). Terran only got damage units and those are easily tweaked. Plus, Terran didn't really lose anything, gained some new tools and didn't really need anything. Zerg lost some dead weight and gained some new stuff. Protoss lost stuff and is expecting these new units not only to replace the lost units but fill other needed roles.

But at least I expected some more thoughtful discussion instead of what we got. What I expected: -Discussion on what new strategies the new units and abilities open up with educated Theorycrafting. I guess I set what I expected too high.I don't hate the show, I don't dislike them but what was seen today was no different than usual Forum banter.

Yeah, but the strategic discussion was more on the backseat. On the shredder example, yeah you are right they mentioned both of those things. But what stood out more of that was them: Putting up the youtube video, say it it killed crap too fast, imply David Kim was ashamed of that because it was OP I guess? I didn't hate the show today, but I expected a more thoughtful discussion.

Wel i think we expected more things like: "the new thor will be a perfect tool to break siege lines because of his high health and his aoe attack" or "removing the buildingattack from the reaper will remove reaperbunker rushes and make it to an scout unit only. especially removing the speed upgrade will remove its appearanec in any state of the game beyond the inital scoutreaper" it wasnt as much theorycrafting as expected. more making jokes and playing the "ignorant race or OP unit hater". But anyways it wasnt bad just not as great as i expected it to be.

And the reaper would be a harass unit not a scout only unit. The idea behind the health regen is to get in, kill some probes and then get out and regen any HP lost so you can harrass some more. <--- THEY MENTIONED THIS Yeah, they didn't mention the thor breaking siege lines but nobody is perfect, also there isn't infinite amounts of time for them to discuss every potential strategy of every new unit. They did discuss it a lot but obviously they can't mention EVERYTHING. People are just complaining unreasonably, it was a great episode.

Negativity is a bit necessary in situations like this. Would you prefer they sugar coat everything and pretend it's all fine and dandy so blizzard can pretend they did a good job and we can all pretend with the current setup of units HotS would be successful? I didn't get to see most of the show as I was casting, but what I did see was enjoyable. Thanks ITG!
