Its funny how HTs are going to do insta 200 dmg Thors now. What a stupid concept..give the thor an "ability" which renders it useless in TvP. I never knew that a units ability can be its weakness.

We can use ghosts to emp our thors. Maybe its a waste of an emp, but still...lol.

A lot of people in here talking like the Thor nerf is some minor thing that will be overcome. Thors used to have energy, strike cannon "only" cost 100 energy, and they were never used in high-level tournament play except for early game rushes, which this change does not even address. Why does Blizzard think that with high templar tech being even stronger than it used to be, that Thors will somehow be viable this time?

Have you ever seen BCs, period? I mean seriously, other than cheesy rush strats (Jinro in the GSL), they're not some core unit in TvP. Now Thors will be just as common as BCs.

How are HTs stronger now than when thors originally had energy? They've lost one of their main upgrades and still cost 750 gas to reach in the first place. 0_o

On a semi-related note, and pardon my inability to remember the timeline of beta patches, but was the thor size reduction before or after strike cannons were made a cooldown?

Um because the game is a LOT different now than it was in beta and right after release?

Except for the KA upgrade being gone. How exactly is HT tech stronger than it used to be? The Archon buffs? They're nice, but hardly gamebreaking like KA was.

with the archon buff a Zealot/Archon/HT army is very viable so don't talk to me about gas cost.

a single feedback is not strong but 5-6 can kill,but still I can still go pure ghost mech without much problem.

Well look on the brightside. I rather have Templars feed backing my Thors than Storming my bio, They'll still have 200 hp of Neosteel to go through Marauders just melt to storm. If I am going Bio(Ghost) Thor, I'd EMP their Templars w/e if they Feedback my Thors I'll have my bio to crush through them. If the storm my bio my Thors will still do fairly well

I cried so hard when i red thease updated changes.
Thor energy removal and warp gate research time increase to 180 were the two best news I have ever heard that is reletad to starcraft. But now they are all gone and taken away from my life

The way I see my TvP now is I try to EMP the HTs with new cheap ghost, if i hit I win, if I dont I loose.

PS. I dont like infestor speed decrease either.

Edit: Sorry for over reacting. Reaper nerf was better news than warpgate reasearch 180sec.

I think a good general principle of patching a new game is buffing underused and nerfing overused stuff.

That being said i like the archon buff or the infestor buff last patch. The Thor nerf on the other hand is questionable at best.

All in all i wouldn't mind if the patches were a bit more bold as Blizzard seems to change a lot of minor stuff while refraining from addressing much more relevant issues.
