Agreed. I find it weird there still hasn't been an official start date announced yet or a time. Last I heard was Incontrol on STOG saying 4/11 is the most likely start date. I don't order my UFC fight without knowing when it's taking place.

is the 1080p over 3mbit/s? then i cannot watch anyway
|
No. Let the sponsors pay for this. I wouldn't pay 25 bucks to watch 3 months of hockey.
|
I'll buy a pass. Assuming of course that they don't just support credit cards and add paypal.

april fools? that price just seems way too high. Especially when i can watch something like the TSL for free

Its the same for TV. you pay for it...and there are commercials.

Group stage is what, 225 series/games? (45 series per division * 5 divisions) 15 series bracket for 11-30 place players, whatever's casted from the open tournament, and 15 series from the final tournament portion are also there too.
So uh $25 for 255+ high quality SC2 games sounds pretty sweet to me.
$20 for it is even sweeter!

I still think it's BS. I understand paying for Korean content, but Koreans have access to all of the GomTV Vods/HQ streams for free. The same should hold true for North Americans.
I understand this was likely in the deal for the league to even start, but I am going to have a hard time justifying paying to watch 2 or 3 tourneys at a time.
I want the league to succeed and produce good games, but I'm going to have to take the wait and see approach.

taking in consideration the players playing in TSL and those in NASL, it really should be a joke but probably isn't

It's 3 straight hours of starcraft too. Even if there were no commercials, you'd have to pause and go to the bathroom or get a drink. The commercials just free up a time to do so.

I may buy it depending on how things go.
I'm not really excited with the format of the tournament, but as time goes by if I see it is actually really interesting, I'll probably buy.
I mean, I need to watch IdrA facing those monsters!

Voted no, living in university rez with ~$30 for my last month for food . Will buy season two or possibly half way through

Why would anyone pay money to see players that you can already see everyday from so many tournaments, replays, casts and streams? I like watching idra's games but its not like I have to watch every one of them. The GSL is a different story because most of those korean players pretty much only competes in the GSL unless special events come up.

There's a free stream.
How do people not get this?
Paid is for VODs and high quality stream just like GOM.
It's like people are working backwards on this. They want to hate the league so they have to invent reasons to hate it.

Well, I've purchased my subscription. $20 is quite reasonable for 3 months of content. "Minimal commercial interruption" is a bit vague, I'm certainly not going to make a big deal out of it without knowing what it means precisely. Everything surrounding the NASL has been so negative so far, it's kinda disappointing. I just want to give these guys a chance (some would say a second chance). Looking forward to seeing the real NASL website, and hoping for lots of extra content on top of the matches.
|
I have no idea why people are complaining about it being too expensive. If you do some estimation, it's literally a few pennies for each hour of content.
|
For the whole package 25$ is a perfectly reasonable price to pay. I think the problem is going to be it's a pretty big clump of money to pay at once. It really feels like an investment to pay 25 dollars, especially when you compare to GSL which is just 10 dollars.
Maybe they would benefit from selling some type of montly or even weekly pass. Maybe someone wants to follow a specific group, and they could sell that week for 5 dollars or something?
|
If you want "e-Sports" to become successful you need to support the game that you love or SC2 will never get big in the USA.
|
Not too bad considering it's 3 months. However, Zergs have been hammered and smashed so badly lately that I'm on the fence of whether there's any point except for IdrA, Moon and July's games (maybe I forgot someone).
