A few days ago Cloud did a very nice interview on cadreds.org but for some reason it was not posted here so I thought it would be interesting to share this on Teamliquid. Here are some pieces of the interview:
You're currently beating allot of the top players in Europe right now, and people are most definitley liking your play style, but do you see yourself going to Korea anytime soon to compete in tournaments such as the GSL ? and if so how do you think you well do you think you'd do over there ?
Korea was definitely an option last year when I was speaking to MYM about it and I lived with Naniwa. Then the tensions with North Korea came, Naniwa left the team and the foreign scene started having an insane amount of cups and tournaments. I would love to visit Korea and practice some months on ladder with the best players in the world but I think GSL is not a good reason to go there considering it's so hard to get anything from GSL and there's really nothing else there. Also they have a crazy neighbor country and I would be a bit scared to live there all the time.
The European scene is generally very strong at the moment, with some phenomenal players from each race, but which 3 players from each race do you think are the strongest and do you think they're any match for the American's or Koreans
I think it's better to say who at the moment is best in every match up. My list is:
PvZ Socke
PvP Socke
PvT Naniwa
ZvZ no idea
ZvT Dimaga/Morrow, different styles but same difficulty
ZvP Morrow
TvT Sjow
TvP ClouD
TvZ BratOK
I think American players are not at the same level as Europeans (except the ones who practiced in Korea) and Koreans are definitely one step above but still beatable

It was one series and quite close that he lost! But SjoW's been definately most consistent, owning so many good terrans for a few months in all big tournaments. I mean, the Kiev championship he won mostly because of his awesome tvt

How do you feel with the current balance of the game, many people are suggesting the "Protoss death ball" is overpowered, but the upcoming nerf to Templar could change that allot, where do you stand on the matter ?
I think the game is decently balanced but there are a few things I would definitely change if I could. Regarding Terran I think hellions are too strong against workers and blue flame should be nerfed in a way it wouldn't work on scvs, drones and probes.
I also think banshee dps is too high, it should 3 shot workers and marines and not 2 shot them. Raven needs to be reviewed because 2 points defense drones are too much, I would make the spell cost 125 and also remove the seeker missile and add the SC:BW spell Irradiate to counter mass muta late game since there's no real way Regarding protoss I think sentries should come out at 75 energy but force field should cost 75 energy and guardian shield 100, so they can't spam them as much as they do now, especially against zerg. Force field should also last 2 game seconds less. The amulet removal was a good decision but I would have rather changed the upgrade in a way Templar energy can be raised to 250 and they come out with 63 energy (same as SC:BW amulet upgrade), so they don't have instant warp in storm, which is the main issue.
I think zerg needs a rework on ultralisks. They should be just massive and not armored but deal good single target damage instead of aoe damage, maybe they should be faster to produce, smaller in size and cheaper but they should make them in a way they are a good option and not just a finishing unit.
Kudos to Cloud, not many players like to point out imbalances within their own race, especially ones that aren't the topic of the month

Actually I didn't mean to downtalk Sjow's TvT at all, I'm just thinking of a certain other player who I thought ClouD would name for best TvT :D

His answers to the balance question are indeed quite interesting and make a lot of sense imo.

Very interesting interview, but I think that Kas is the best TvT and maybe the best TvP player in Europe. His last bo5 against Sjow was 3-0.

IMO he was spot on with every point, especially about bringing back irradiate.

He is 44-19 in 2011 thus far acording to the TLPD. He beat players like Socke, White-Ra, Mana and Naniwa (so basically the Top-4 of European Protoss) regularly. Yes I'd say he is an absolute beast.

He wants so much nerfing for Terran o.O. Still my favorite European Terran though^^ I hope he does attend MLG as the interview says, I would like to see him vs a lot of the US players.

His balance suggestions are really good indeed.
I disagree about his best player in TvT though, I think its either Kas or Goody (when they meet they play 2:3/3:2 as well).

Very honest and good balance suggestions here...most pros only want their race buffed (*cough* Idrosis, *cough*).
Although I'm a P-player and therefore have always had anti-terran-sentiments  , I've always liked Cloud for his consistent macro-style. He indeed never really got into all the marine/raven/banshee/tank/thor/wasdjkl one base timing attack mentality. In that you could say his approach to the game is similar to Goody. I'd say he is definitely top 5 EU terran at the moment, although I have no idea how to rank the following:
Cloud
Sjow
Bratok
Goody
Kas
(Demuslim; don't know about his recovery after his broken hand)

No they dont. Banshees are barely worth getting anymore, except perhaps in tvt, as most people know how to counter them cost effectively. Late game they see very little use as well.
Raven kind of a niche unit as well. Its probably kind of underused vs zerg but useless vs HT, and definitely not OP in tvt.
Hellion harass is really interesting to follow, but can be countered if you just play a safe build and is ready for potential harasss.
Sentry and HT changes i can follow however.
