I must admit that I'm happy i left this game in October last year. I predicted it correct, the evolution of this game will never be forward but rather side ways or backwards.
I honestly do not understand how Blizzard cant see that the Colossus amongst others are the reason why this game is pretty weak. They have so many units in there that simply are dull and yet they don't do something inspiring with them. Instead they don't nerf, but rather destroy the aspects of every race that was "cool". Thats regarding the amulet. Giving it a CD of 5-10 seconds or whatever would have been a nerf. Removing it is simply to destroy Protoss which were a dull race to begin with. I mean, they want Colossus feast? How fun is that.
Every time i check out the status of SC2 i get disappointed. They simply add nothing fresh to it. Meh...

Awww muffin... You can't defend drops instantly with one unit? That's awful! How could they do that to you?
Especially with the new fungal nerf, storm is actually legitimately 100% the best spell in the game. You still have the best spell. HTs are an end game unit. Won't you have time to get that awful 500 gas and have them sit around for a couple seconds? You can warp in other units to stop a drop. You can move a small part of your army back to stop a drop. You can put a cannon up to defend a drop. HTs aren't your only option, but they are a damn good one if your willing to wait.
Again: your argument is it's unfair that you cant instantly kill a 500/100 drop with one unit instantly.

So do what a Terran does when he gets dropped. Bring back some units or leave some in the base.
Answer: The terran stims a couple of units, since his units are so good in small numbers. While the drop does mediocre damage, a production cycle of MMM spawns and is more than enough to clean up the pathetic and costly drop.

Your right its totally different, because the emp wont actually kill a unit a storm will. I was mostly trying to draw a picture of you how how annoying insta storms were. I think EMP is fine as is but you wont find a terran in the world who wouldnt trade it for storms even minus +25 upgrade.
In PvT this is very profound considering the low hps of terran bio, which is why your instinct was to storm the dropped marines since most in the blast wont be able to get out before stom kills them. I assume it was marines because youd be retarded waiting for storms on marauders anyways.
Storm since the ptr is in no way meant now to be your fast counter to drops. Blizzard at some level thinks you should do more to prepare for drops than throw down an insta storm. At anypoint why didnt you just feedback the medivac anyways? Feedback plus a couple of zealots should of slowed down that drop nicely. Which still would of put you light years ahead of trying to respond with colossus immortals.

Some BW, some HoN, some DotA in the wait for DotA 2 or a good SC2 patch to bring me back. A good SC2 patch would actually be a fresh breath of air. I need a good solo RTS atm that isnt ancient. Have gotten spoiled with the age.

Not really. EMP actually kills high templars, sentries, dark templars, observers, and immortals.
Because the ghosts are always sitting in the ball of DPS that is M&M, and all those units are useless after they're EMP'd.

It's a little old (2001), but Stronghold has been keeping me up lately. It's slow paced, but ever so very awesome.

Have you ever played P? P's late game strength is in that Ball of units. 2 dropships doing a drop not only can destroy a bunch of buildings with stim before you army even gets there but also will make that ball that much less strong. How is it fair that a race can have available this low risk-high reward situation using T1 units?.. Come in while the P's army is far, drop a bunch of Marauders that can destroy a bunch of buildings with stim and pick them up and leave before the P's army can get there. And about warping in units, its all nice and dandy but MMM will usually stim and take them out as they are warping in (that is if the Terran is half decent). And say he warps them far so that T doesnt see, as soon as he sees this little gateway unit coming at him, he picks them up and leaves. HTs ensured that drops late game were a high risk-high reward situation. At 20 min + in the game, it shouldnt be so easy to drop. especially a race that is suppose to be good late game. That nerf not only made drops a lot harder to deal with but made Colossus the only cost worthy choice to go for.

Yea those 2 snipes really rock the game. You could severely damage a zealot with them =/. I'll take feed back over snipes any day of the week. Would you trade the snipes and the ghost's decent base attack? Feedback has already been nerfed pretty bad. No one builds HTs for feedback. Point is: Ghosts aren't literally useless when they pop out, and still have their energy upgrade. Same for infestors.
Anyhow, you can still get a free EMP with the ghost energy upgrade. One EMP is game-winning without Khaydarin.

If anyone won't play sc2 because they don't like the patch and are waiting for a "good one", then they really have no place in this community

Wow at the Protoss representatives in this thread. You are making yourselves look foolish.

Hint: He doesn't start building a tank when he sees the drop. Don't see why Protoss gets to have the ability to move all his units away from his buildings, in much the same way that Zerg and Terran cannot and need to control their own areas.
People who don't play protoss might not understand how the protoss army works. We naturally gravitate toward a "deathball" because the synergy between our units doesn't suffer from diminishing returns--the more, the better. In small numbers, all of our units lose against all of yours.
If we leave a chunk of units behind, our main army suffers drastically. Terran wins in small numbers. Two dropships with upgraded infantry beats 1.5x that food in protoss troops. If we start leaving these little pockets of troops to defend every base, Terran just stims in your front and wins because your army sucks in small numbers.
Terran has stim and dropships for mobility, and gets planetaries so their bases are safe when they're not around. Zerg has OL and creep giving vision, and mostly fast units.
Protoss NEEDS warp in, and if our templar are useless after warping in, our ability to defend drops is going to suck.
It's going to be colossi/phoenix all day every day after this.

Whatever you think about the power or balance of templars, I think we can all agree that this patch, if it comes to pass, will absolutely eliminate high-templar usage and make Protoss play MUCH more Colossus heavy.
