I know I can have an SCV follow a single thor, but is there a way to have a group of SCVs follow a group of thors?
Additionally, how do I have a medivac follow a group of units? Possible? I always pick up a unit instead of having it follow so I really don't know.
Adding in any other races with normal 'follow' stuff would be helpful, I play Terran mostly so that's kind of my key. Ravens following other air, or whatever... any tips I can get would be great.
Thanks!

Select units - Click on the unit you want them to follow ^^

Right click on the thor.
I'm pretty sure there is a 'follow' command in the case of the medivacs.

1. Select unit you want to have follow 2. Right click on unit you want it to follow 3. ??? 4. Profit!
No, there is no way to have a unit follow a "group" of units or have a medivac follow a unit without it picking it up once it reaches it.

The A-move "heal" doesn't work?

I'm not 100% positive on this and can't test it out at the moment (not enough battery to run SC2 for any length of time right now), but I think if you shift click move commands on each of the thors you can have the SCVs follow them until they die, then follow the next one. This may or may not work for rally points.
Edit: WRONG, just tested it (almost KOing my battery in the process) and this doesn't work with rally points OR with right clicking OR with the move command. It only follows the last one in the queue.

Does it? I don't know. Pretty sure a medivac stops when it heals things.

Press M and then left-click on the unit you want your units to follow. Done, also with Medivac, instead of M you can also use A since they can't atk

Well that's not the issue, I meant more of a group following a group
So if I have 3 thors, and 1 dies, I want the SCVs to have been following "all" the thors, not just 1
Similarly the same for medivacs and such. I don't recall if there's a "follow" command.

select the SCVs/medivac, press "M" (standard keyboard layout) left click on the unit you want to follow, if the followed unit dies you have to select another one, you cannot follow a group
in the case of medivacs i would simply group the together with your bio-force to be honest :o

^^ If you shift queue it, the SCVs will approach the first thor, then the second, and so on without the thors dying.
You can have medivacs follow units that they can't pick up, i.e. air units.
Use the simple questions/answers thread in the future.

Maybe it works by shift-clicking? Don't really know, but if that doesn't work then you can't do it.

You can't follow an entire group. If I have a bunch of scvs following a single thor out of a group of 5 thors. If that thor happens to die first and the other 4 keep moving towards the enemy base, the scvs will just chill in the middle where the thor died. I guess you just have to pay close attention when telling units to follow one another.
The same thing applies for rally points. If I rally muta eggs on a muta in my attack group, and that muta dies, those mutas will stop in place as soon as it dies.

Select SCVs , shift right click all the thors

Just group them together to be honest. You can't have them follow several units. If there's a follow-command. Try Shift + Follow command maybe?

I'm just throwing out ideas since I'm at work: What if you queue patrol movement between the thors?

You cannot have them follow the group, but you can for example have auto-repair on, so if one thor dies, they will lose their current order and go to the nearest damaged thor if it is in range and go repair it. for medivacs just use the A or M commands instead of right clicking, and they will then follow the unit you click, though again that is following that one unit, if that unit dies, and the group moves away, the medivac will sit there doing nothing.
Also following units will be at a small delay, lagging behind the army, what you want to do instead is have the units on a separate hotkey and move them yourself when you need to.

they'd just go from one unit to the next and follow the last one selected i think

Pretty sure they do, because I A-moved my teammates broodlords with medivacs in a recent game and they did exactly that!
