You say people should learn how to play well this helps them.. /shrug

The program just wont reply to my voice. I entered a Build Order with the Phonetic "Drops" and even if i say "Drops" a thousand times nothing happens.
I clicked "turn on" in the program too btw.

Its just to remind you of what you are trying to do. And the key remapping, bliz said they were adding that in a future patch anyway. Its not like this is going to allow a scrub to hang with the pros. Its just a practice tool that can be used in real game scenarios. I'm probably not going to use it, but its a great idea to help people practice execution. Edit: oh and why would you want it on android? Going to look down at your phone instead of the screen sc2 is already on? Btw I already have a bo app on my droid and it doesn't have anything good. Your better off writing your own in a notepad.

Yup thanks guys.
I think I'm going to put a disclaimer on top of the first post saying this tool Helps you to practice. Not in anyway does it claim to gain you an advantage in a ladder game.

That is very weird. Before releasing this, I did test this with 4 of my friends and on 10 + different computers. .net 4.0 and Windows SDK should set up everything.
If you don't mind the trouble and the extra install size, would you try installing all the components in Windows SDK. They are mostly just tools and libraries (should not slow down your computer in any way).

any news when the new files will be released?

It still closes before it "starts up".

i guess that this program will be banned, especially with the voice reminder.
Since this program provides an advantage over those who dont use it, and thats enough for blizz to ban :>

Also I believe displaying information in the game is against the rules (which is why trainers or whatever are programmed to tell you through AUDIO that your APM is low or stuff like that). Whether that concerns only in-game live information (like your income or your production) or ANY information, I don't know.
But I wouldn't use this program until I knew if I were you. Can't you just write it down?

Rules made by Blizzard are vague on purpose, so that they can evaluate on a case-by-case.
However, this program is roughly the equivalent of having:
- A second monitor with a notepad opened and the BO displayed on it
- One or more clocks on your desk with countdowns you can push to hear rings short after
Even if those things may not be allowed on a tournament, I find laughable that those two things may be considered "cheating and being unfair". Actually, I really think that someone who knows build orders and timings on his own will still be miles ahead compared to someone using this. This is just for those who are still learning.
|
hmm
that looks very useful to.
lets see what blizzard says...imo its nothing more then a notepad with text that you have opened on another screen or the same one ...

we have YABOT and stuff like that for learning BO's, memorizing the building times is pretty easy too, but will take some time laddering etc.
Believe me i was banned for writing an using a program which is much worse than the one provided here in wc3.
Also, a 2nd monitor or several clocks are drawing attention away from your gaming monitor, so you might miss a dropship because you looked away or smth like that, this won't happen (or at least not that often) if you use an overlay on your current monitor and look on the minimap, which is easier and thus bannable.
If Blizz detects it, you might get banned, thats a fact.

How does Blizz detect a program that doesn't effect the actual game itself?
|
Yeah, this just seems too flakey to even consider using. Blizzard can easily one day decide this program is considered cheating and have SC2 scan your active processes when you load SC2 and if it detects this, they ban it.
You need to e-mail them and ask them what their policy on this program is. To a lot of people it is an unfair advantage, as it makes it nigh impossible not to follow a build order as it is on your screen. Personally I write down my builds on the notepad that came with SC2 and have to glance away if I forget what to do. This program basically tells you in game what to do. Just because it doesn't inject itself into the memory that SC2 is using doesn't mean it isn't detectable and isn't considered a cheat.
Also, this is a third party addon, which they state in the EULA that unauthorized addons are not allowed.

My framerate goes down to 30 when the overlay is on top. I have NET Framework 4.0 and the necessary SDK components installed. I'm using x64 Windows 7, aero disabled, GTX 460. Any suggestions?

No guarantees, but it would be worth giving WINE a shot. http://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX

Hey guys,
I'm releasing a new quick build in hope to fix some issues with people using XP or other non-English OS's.
http://www.screborn.com/ruk/
If you still have trouble running RUK, try this custom build:
Install Shield: http://www.screborn.com/_ruk/download/RUK.exe
Also, for the debate over the build order overlay, it would be silly for Blizz to ban you from using it. Like other people said, it's exactly like having a sticky note on your screen. I find it useful. Half of the repliers find it to be helpful. So, I'm happy. =) I'll keep improving on it.

Is your sc2 game client in maximized window mode? I never really experienced any framerate drop. It could be due to another arbitrary source.

Yes, it's set to Fullscreen Windowed mode. I can alt-tab the overlay so it's no longer visible but still running, and my fps will jump back up to the normal 100+.

Just wanted to see if this project was still alive. I was looking forward to the promised future updates.
