ScCalendar 1.4.0 is released!
Uninstall any previous versions of ScC before installing 1.4.0
Troubleshooting tips: + Show Spoiler +* This app NEEDS .net framework 4.0 client profile. Download here. Restart your computer before running ScC.* Use the old (not bnet style) stream player. Some people might have compatibility problems with the new one resulting in black screen or nothing happening when you double-click/play a stream. * If you're using old player (and possibly new) download flash for Internet Explorer. Yes I know. This will fix any issues with the flash player not loading. * Run the program as administrator. Especially the chat client Floe! You can do this by checking the box (file properties) in the picture below. The program files are located in Program Files\brn\ScCalendar\ and its subfolders On December 18 2010 13:14 JulianSidewind wrote: I find I am unable to click the little x on the popup ads on the streaming windows and I have to wait for them to lower on their own. * We have an option active by default that puts a "window" over the player to stop the flash interface from activating (notice no control bar). You can toggle this with the third button from the right in the auto-hide top bar of the window (dishwasher/window icon). That will make it accessible to you. On a side note I suggest you do the hosts file edit, options > streams. This requires a restart of ScC or maybe even a restart of your PC. My hosts file is included as an example and is perfectly usable on all systems. * If all else fails please post in this topic OR use the feedback form OR contact someone who has the [ScC] tag in #teamliquid.
What's new Rss!
Rss also means blip.tv, youtube and twitter. We also added a search feature (here searching for day9 content.)
Youtube support through rss!
New notifications!
Changelog: + Show Spoiler +1.4.0 Changelog: * Added RSS support (and fixed all the bugs that came with it) * Added a simple way to follow a twitter account (twitter name) * Added a preview tab to the rss to follow the update process. * Added open Youtube videos in player (from RSS), this might get extended into a general youtube player in the future. * Added new notifications style! * Seperated new player process from ScCalendar main app. * This comes with the benefit that now scroll volume controls individual stream sound, not entire application. * Fixed an issue with the own3d overlay staying/not showing where it’s supposed to. * Fixed an issue that caused a permanent “loading..” screen if you tried to stream switch to the stream you’re on. * Fixed an issue where the stream chat would only open once (if you closed it you couldn’t open it again) * Fixed an issue with the bar on old player, pixel perfection and tooltips added * Fixed an issue where a different dpi then normal would misplace the menu and notifications * Fixed an issue with some settings not saving properly * Optimised code * Optimised server bandwidth usage, this really will not affect the end user.
Please use the feedback button (menu, bottom right next to close) for any issues AND stream requests. We’re currently in a phase where everyone is switching stream provider so bare with us.

SirDawid - You can find the cursor set we're using here Somehow I forgot to add it to "About" window as a credit , my bad , I keep forgetting stuff like that. Thanks and Kudos to Darc1n for awesome cursors!
chuckg & Usurper & many others had DPI related issues - ScC is now compatible with 120&144 dpi. Enjoy!
Also a little note for 1.4.0 , we haven't updated the "new version notifier" yet. I thought it would be better to have a few feedback before announcing it through ScC. Please let us know if you like it , if it's working fine etc.

Tiax;mous I actually am sticking to default icon/font size... can't fathom why I've changed to large in the first place, but nevermind that...good bug is a dead bug. :p The few subtle changes are looking great, and i definitely feel a much faster response time from the menu, probably due to your memory management thing you were working on.
Glad you and Tnud are still doing this, cause it's a wonderful tool that will be useful for times to come.
Cheers, and stop by @ IRC from time to time, to vent on how hard your university thesis is. :p

Something a few people seem to be missing is that you can actually customise what icons are visible in the notification area. Just right click the taskbar select properties and click customize (xp/vista/win7) I only have ScC, speedfan and my network icon always visible for a clean look.
Please enjoy 1.4.0 and don't hold back posting in this topic ^.^
@Usurper, thanks for your feedback!
|
Usurper - Hey Usurper! Glad you like the new version! We're doing all we can but now that we released this version , I got my exams starting tomorrow so gotta take a short break from ScC And don't even get me started about thesis haha
And by the way , I somehow believe Brightness & Contrast Settings in player is an extremely overlooked featured. SO I took a few screenshot to show you how you can fix , painfully dark streams ( which is veeery common )
+ Show Spoiler +
As far as I remember these screen taken with 0.03 Brightness and 0.28 Contrast Settings. There isn't one ultimate brightness&contrast setting which is always better than the original. It depends on the stream quality and numbers may change for every stream but just remember that you can tweak brightness & colors in a few seconds and probably got a much better stream easily. You can play with it from Context Menu ( Right Click on Player Area ) -> Player Settings -> Brightness & Contrast Sliders. Unfortunately these effects ( pixel shaders ) aren't even professional stuff either , so I'll probably improve them and add much more in the future. Enjoy!

Tiax;mous - I'm already using that pack actually! Strangely enough, my own cursors are alot bigger, which doesn't look that good imo. Any tip on how to resize them? Other than edit all of them one by one in some .cur program :\
Now i actually realized there are smaller ones, 24px, thank's for making me recheck the folders x)
|
SirDawid - Oh cool , I really should have put a note about darc1n in "about window" but somehow forgot that. I really don't want to take credit for other peoples work
|
Tiax;mous - Got my cursors up, looks great now! ;D But hey, BUG REPORT: The Rss-window is not closing. The [x]-button isn't responding to clicks. It's possible to minimize though, but the only way to really close it is to right-click the correct window in the taskbar and close it from there.
Also, a question. When uninstalling an older version so that i may install the newer, is there any way to save my settings in between the two versions? For example, I have a certain font in IRC, custom timers on notifications, etc. What can i do to easily apply the same setting on the newer install?
HF composing a nice answer =P

SirDawid - Uh can't close a window ? Now THAT is weird. The code behind that [x] button is so straight forward that i can not even imagine why/how would such a thing happen. I'll say "I'll look into it" but there isn't much to look into in this one Can you give more information about it please , when does it happen? Always? Even right after when you first run ScC? UI may not respond while loading feed so you're trying when "loading" process done , right?
All settings are saved in config files , all you gotta do is taking a backup of that config file before uninstalling. For ScC 1.3.1 ; ScCFloe , config file is located at ; C:\Program Files (x86)\brn\ScCalendar\Chat\
For ScC 1.4.0 ; ScCFloe config file is located at ; C:\Users\{Your Account Name}\AppData\Roaming\ScC\Floe
Actually , as you can see , we changed the config file placement with 1.4.0b so you probably don't even need to take a backup before uninstalling from now on. I'll test that and edit this with %100 info
Edit : Yeap , change ScCFloe settings to somethings absurd , then uninstalled ScC , then re-installed ScC , and ScCFloe settings are still absurd!
So as I said , you won't need to do anything extra from now on. God know why , I didn't do the same for ScC Settings tho , no way to save them through uninstall - reinstall process at the moment. Gonna fix that in next version for sure
|
Tiax;mous I am indeed trying after the loading process. And i'm sure that i'm clicking on it since it highlights just as the minimize/options buttons. They do respond to clicks, aswell as close-buttons on other windows, such as irc, calendar and streams. But no, the close-button in the rss-window is not responding. I understand that it's rather strange that just this button isn't working and none of the similar around it. But hey, hope you manage to find what it is ^^
For others,, Anyone else having the same problem with closing the rss-window? If not, it might just me and my usual luck regarding tech ^^
Anyways, glhf m8

SirDawid - Ok here is an idea ; can you please run ScC as Admin and try close button again? I just remembered there are some other thing going on while closing Rss Window , so "run as admin" may fix that issue. I fixed lots of stuff which makes ScC require "run as admin" (on some systems , not all) but still , I'm afraid I messed it up again >< Let me know if it fixes the issue and if it does , I'll try to explain it more. ( probably tomorrow tho , gotta go get some rest now , got exams tomorrow >< )
|
Tiax;mous - Well, it's working now! >.< I'm having a hard time understanding why the close-button in this particular window should be any different from the other ones in other windows (chat, calendar, streams).
Thanks for helping me out anyway, good luck with this in the future, really good software so far!

Love your application, don't love that I don't show as a featured streamer (I am one).
|
No matter what I do, I can't even get framework 4.0 to install... But from what I've read/ seen, it looks awesome.
|
SirDawid - Ah as I suspect , it's a file writing problem. When you click the close button of Rss Window , it saves all rss feeds in an xml file so ScC can read them of that file and won't need to download them all again 2 minutes later. But the problem is , it's saving that file in the ScC folder , which is in C./Program Files which requires admin rights to write. At the moment you can't close that window because Windows block ScC process which is trying to write a file in that folder. And whenever you open Rss Window , ScC downloads all feeds again because there isn't a cache file to read them of. Gotta fix this soon , not a ground breaking bug but a big one.
Wolf - Apologies about that , there are 300+ streams in ScC at the moment and lots of featured stream in TL so it's easy to miss a few here and there. Should be fixed now , and speaking of which ; here's a deal ; show ScC & ScC Floe & ScC Stream Player on your stream and I'll double feature and triple favorite you!! Just kidding of course , but well we really need more publicity these days.
On a serious note , I saw nearly all streamers using a Irc client at the background , has anyone tried ScCFloe for it? It should be like Sc2 Chat Rooms which is available with Alt+Tab shortcut
And again if there is any stream you want in , just post here , or use our feedback window to report , or PM me etc. Just contact me and I'll add it asap.
Zabimaru - Aww that's bad. Have you googled with bing about the problem? If it's a common problem , no doubt Microsoft guys have a solution for it as .Net Framework is pretty crucial product for Microsoft.
|
If you're having problems with Rss/settings window not opening properly run ScCalendar as admin, that solves the problem.
A "hotfix" kinda deal will be released after a few more improvements.
|
Thanks so much for this, dude. If I could request for changing time formats and showing time until event starts in the calendar without having to expand the event (like in the pop-up notifications). Great app!
|
baeracaed - It was pretty much like that in our previous version but decided to switch to HOUR : MIN format as it's much easier to plan your day like this. Hope you noticed all those times are converted to your own timezone so it's much easier to have a look and see if it'll be a busy night tonite and/or see when you'll have to time to go for a lunch. After all notifications will warn you about incoming event anyway , and show you the time left to that event as you asked. Calendar Window is for like planing your evening or day.
Another thing I noted , we still have more 1.3.1 users than 1.4.0 users ; although we have an update notifier , lots of users haven't switched yet. That's kinda weird , is there any particular reason i don't know or ?
|
I love you so much Tiax! I've been using my dual monitor setup to keep an eye on 3 streams while watching casts in full screen. Goddamn this app is great.
|
chuckg - Glad you like it man! It's working with 146dpi smoothly now isn't it?
And one thing that we really need ; if you like the app and want to help us a bit , please let your friends know about it! If you're using any other big Sc2 forums ( reddit , german/swe/russian forums etc ) please post or talk about ScC there etc. There is a limit to what we can do with 1-2 man , and unfortunately marketing , advertising etc is so far beyond that limit. Thanks in advance !
