I couldn't disagree more. Voidrays were way to powerful. I could never punish my protoss opponents for playing like retards. guy had 2 gates and a stargate and had about 5 voidrays after he fail pushed me. He made an expansion and i had 4 raxes. Guess who couldn't even kill 4 units? me.
tbh i like to live in a game where i can punish my opponents for making bad decisions. Like expanding vs a 4 rax. 5 units should not beable to decimate my army in less then 5 seconds when its fully charged. Also another reason for this change is to make protoss use carriers more. Voids aren't useless they are just going to have be played with differently. I wish i could gather a few of my replays but i didn't save these ones to show you. But voidrays were a universal unit. GOOD at deffending and GOOD at attacking and HARASSING. But i think this is going to prompt carrier usage more lategame which imo is a good thing.

The tools existed in the game for you to utterly decimate that guy but you just didn't use them. They would not have even required any more speed. If you just played smarter and made good decisions, it would have been an easy win like you say.

Hellions were always scarier than reapers for me anyway, to be honest, and are still a perfectly viable harass strategy. Nearly pure mech has always given me the toughest time when playing against Terran, and that's not going to change here.

Void rays are never imo a game killing unit but I think precharging will be less worth it now which I always though was pretty pro.

I am also unhappy at no longer being able to feedback thors.

Other than that looks decent all around, the proxy reaper rush no longer needs to be feared and i can, for example, go 13 gate against terran close position again (instead of 10 gate).

Zerg building HP buff is pretty meh in my mind.

I like how blizzard double nerfs units, and unintentionally buffs others.

Roach range by itself would of solved reapers. But now reapers become pretty null from depot and factory requirement.


Really not liking increashed roach range in PvZ. Cannons less effective and roaches are already extremely powerful with speedlings for map control

Wait so you did nothing while he expanded pushed with only 2 gates and the built voidrays for 5 minutes with you not building marines or vikings?

and your complaining? If i lose a game like that and look at the replay im calling myself retarded for the next 15 minutes not blaming balance.

He expanded while he pushed. Lost all his gate units and i counter attacked. Was cross spawn metalopolis and by the time i was there he was charging 5 void rays. and had about 8 gate units.
I died miserably.

Overall, a great patch. Barracks change is dumb. Nitro change is dumb. Health changes to buildings is fucking great. Roach range from 3 to 4, amazing buff for Zerg. Void ray nerfs, always welcome. No T2 air has been so overpowered for so long... remember the original Void Rays? 7 Range... no recharge on charge up, charge up didn't take long... Yeah, maybe I can see less NubRays. And the change to 'Random' Team game points is always welcome, especially when I get paired up with 1 diamond and 2 platinum in 4v4 and lose 14 pts to a full diamond 4's team.

I saw a blue post on blizzard forms like a week ago saying they where keeping a eye on void rays and blizz hits them with a elbow from the sky sneaky blizzard.

Dont really like the patch for a change.

It was unlikely to be intentional since it was undocumented.

Anyway, its energy regeneration rate is higher than other units. What reason would there be to have faster regeneration instead of a lower energy cost? It just scales all the energy values higher. But if you can feedback...

I have no idea. P's anti-air is fairly weak right now. Phoenix has their place, but it's more of a hybrid anti-air and harassment tool than strictly anti-air.

Protoss is inherently ahead when u build corruports because u waste a lot of supply on a unit that is only good for dealing with collosus.

Supply doesn't matter unless you're maxed. If you're maxed you probably want some Brood Lords, so Corruptors are useful.

And there's nothing "inherently" bad about a unit that has a very specific role. If it's good at what it does then it's good. If you could build one Corruptor that had 2000 health and one-shot killed every Colossus, you aren't inherently behind because you spent a few hundred resources to deal with only one part of the Protoss army... it would be incredibly efficient and undoubtedly the best move against any Protoss getting Colossi. Of course Corruptors aren't that strong, but they are strong enough that they are good at their role.

And you don't even seem to consider the things Corruptors prevent. Warp Prism harass and Carriers are never even seen against Zerg because Corruptors shut them down so well that nobody even tries.

I am not saying corruptors is a unit that has no application, im saying it being unfeedbackable doesnt change teh tide of balance in zergs favor in any way shape or form, it simply gives zerg a slight boost in the right direction.
Besides with fungal stopping blink it is most likely that infestors with NP will become the standard response to collosus, and infestors are quiet feedbackable.

So.. Voidrays were meant to be capital-ship killers, right? To kill large units with large hit points, hence the charge-up bonus. Now, they are 36% less effective in their role... 36% is a HUGE difference. Plus, adding hp to buildings is another massive buff vs voidrays. And, vs light units (like harvesters and scv's) they are 20% less effective with their beam fully charged. So... What does blizzard want them to do now? They won't stand up very well to bc's. Thor's can take them out. Corrupters? Pwn them harder now.

So.... What are they supposed to be used for now?

I just want to point out that the whole increase in life for the buildings is an indirect way of nerfing Terran's medivac drops. And for that, I commend Blizzard. Medivac drops are still way too powerful, however.

I agree. It's good to see a Nexus buff but seriously the warp gate nerf was so bad and now the void ray nerf which only effected team games....wow.

Dunno if its been posted yet but 250mm Cannon does 500dmg now and it looks like it follows its target now and cancels when its dead. The whole animation seems a bit faster as well

Edit: No area dmg anymore
