Definitely would hate to see that happen to SC2. The tournament is being supported/paid for by Blizzard so I wouldnt be too worried. Althought more than a week is too long.

The roach range upgrade would prevent hellions from outmicroing them, making that first expansion much easier to defend, and making spine crawlers less necessary. I am guessing that this is because at a pro level with amazing micro the difference will be the same as reapers right now (so the hellions can still hit and run just fine). For lower levels where the hellions get regularly mismicroed, it's a big change. I know at my 1300 Diamond I can kill reapers with roaches right now because the opponent's aren't good enough to do the perfect hit and run regularly. I wonder what the logic behind range 9 on viking and range 10 on thor AA is and if they are considering revising it ... Now that VRs are range 6, having a viking at range 7 or 8 might make a difference for broodlords. Thor range I have never understood and could probably also be taken down to 8 ... won't change much versus mutas in a battle, would avoid a thor covering a whole base though. Good reactions from all three players. Interesting takes on the ZvP situation (seems like a small increase in roach utility but not a huge difference overall). The depot before rax seems to make Zergs happy, and I can understand it :p.

Tester seems to have a more cynical view but that is to be expected being the toss player of the 3. Should of asked him how this will effect his cannon play with roaches having more range.

Range 9 vikings have always been pretty crazy, but it seems manageable in most of the games I've seen. I just wish that range 9 was an UPGRADE.

So.. protoss players can proxy gate, zerg players can 6 pool, but its out of the question if terrans want to proxy rax huh. The reaper will be dead, hellion harassment will get harder with roach range, and its basically given now that every zerg player can take a 14 hatch without any worry. Looks like much of the units that terran has to micro, and actually require an ounce of skill to use, are going to get the nerf-bat.. thats cool, everyone complains about how "terran doesn't have to micro," yet nerfs like this happen? wat? It seems to me like every zerg player who's QQ went into this patch want to dominate early game, mid game, and late game, while maintaining the edge in both defense and offense. Sounds like a good patch to me.. Wrong. Protoss players had to create a pylon to proxy gate. You just have to make a supply depot that doesn't have to be anywhere near the barracks. You're scared Zergs can now 14 hatch safely? Wrong again. You can still bunker rush, early mm rush, banshee harass, etc. Hellion harass is just harder now, but still viable. Before it was just too stupid easy to run around and then randomly attack at a safe distance. This will force Terrans to improve control.

Before it was just too stupid easy to run around and then randomly attack at a safe distance. This will force Terrans to improve control. The speed and damaging potential of a proxy gate rush is on par with that of a proxy rax rush regardless of having to place a pylon first. Take away the speed of the proxy rax and terran is left with very little "cheese" builds which can take an opponent off guard. Not that cheese should be used frequently, but it certainly should be an option. Bunker rush is horrid now. Its nowhere near as good as before - where you could rush reapers and have a bunker building to protect them. All it takes is one spinecrawler strategically placed to eliminate bunker shenanigans, lings on creep eat marines alive, and it is ezpz for a queen to snipe the scv building the bunker. Bunker rush is old news vs. zerg. How will it force terrans to improve control? The top players already have excellent hellion control, the bottom players won't bother to improve their control, and the mid players then get screwed as their moderate control gets completely countered by a-clicking roaches. TvZ is just going to turn into, "If I cant harass the zerg expo early and kill at least 5 units, then I lose." Let the terrans have their harass early game, and let the zerg have their "I can replenish my whole army in 30 seconds" late game.

Or maybe he builds a rax while his depot is building and cuts an extra scv because he noticed an incoming cheese. Every second counts, especially considering terrans have the weakest early game unit in terms of cost (1 zealot kills 2 marines unless you micro perfectly, 4 lings easily kills 2 marines) and you won't have your wall-in by then. Regardless, its fucking stupid to COMPLETELY remove cheese from one race.
