WTH, I love brood lords, and they are more OP than UP. Compared to the guardian in sc1, broodlords got a major upgrade, Each broodlord shot deals about 32 damage and sucks up 30 hp. This is so great if you keep it in the back of your army composition. However, Zerg needs an air splash unit because Terran has thor, Protoss has Archon and Zerg has nada.

Broodlords are morphed out of Corrupters... funnily enough during this morph process, after spending minerals, gas and supply... they come out with half the base armor.

Cool

Q. Your stance going into the GSL Season 2?
A. I'm focused on passing the prelims for now. Zerg Fighting!

I'm glad he treats each milestone as if it was his last battle (because it very well could be.) I think it's easy for people who reach success to get overconfident, thus paving the way for upsets.

The brood lord sucks because its movement speed is as slow as the protoss mothership and it's DPS is really really bad for a 250/250 unit. The only reason it is good is because you can potentially generate a broodling meatshield, but this is easily circumvented by mobile ground units such as blink stalkers or minimal flanking, and since it (along with the mothership) is the slowest unit in the game AA units make short work of them. Brood lords are trash, IMO.

As a lower level Terran, with the supply depot before barracks nerf I'm actually much more concerned about my ability to DEFEND cheese than perform it.

you build a rax before depot to defend cheese?

Or maybe he builds a rax while his depot is building and cuts an extra scv because he noticed an incoming cheese. Every second counts, especially considering terrans have the weakest early game unit in terms of cost (1 zealot kills 2 marines unless you micro perfectly, 4 lings easily kills 2 marines) and you won't have your wall-in by then.

Regardless, its fucking stupid to COMPLETELY remove cheese from one race.

Terran players can pull workers just like all the other races have to do. And it hurts their play the least. Terran cheese is the most effective currently, they are just bringing it down to par with the rest.

Terrans still have their planetary fortresses, repairing scvs, marauders, medivacs, banshees, mules and free bunkers so if I were a terran player, I would STFU.

range 9 on vikings is and always was ridiculous. terran already have way to many seige units with range 9 or higher. they have tanks (range 13) thors (there anti air is range 10) and vikings (range 9). get rid of the range on vikings, there good enough without it.

Cool! Nice to see some timely interviews on what might happen in the next patch. To be honest the annoucement for the next patch came a lot earlier than I expected. Good work Blizz!

I don't understand the mentality behind Terrans complaining about the supply depot before rax thing. Protoss need a pylon before they can proxy gate, and its not like Zerg can proxy a 6 pool or anything. Terran will just now have to deal with a 6 pool or some extremely early cheese in the same manner as protoss now does. Lets face it, good Protoss and Terrans should be praying for a Zerg to 6 pool, 90% of the time its giving away a free win.

Not to mention the popularity of 2 rax before depot on the Korean server. This change makes sense to me.

Yeah they should nerf viking range to 6 and give them a significant HP/damage buff to compensate.

That way I don't have to micro them properly to make use of their 9 range, and instead be an air superiority fighter through A-moving instead of relying on range to compensate for low hp/dps.

I can't even imagine the reasoning blizzard took for making the depot before rax change.
It can't be to balance 2v2+, because rax/dual rax first is the only way no to die to multiple 6 pool or multiple proxy gates in 2v2+.
Can't be for 1v1...because well, it just can't, how was rax first ever a problem in 1v1 ? It was sometime cheese (like in GSL TLO vs hyperdub), sometime for fast reapers (already nerfed). And you can't nerf cheese when this already depends on not being scouted.

It's one of the worst thought change in the history of sc/bw/sc2 imo, changing a fine thing that will remove game depth, I just can't beleive it's from the official website...

Wrong. Protoss players had to create a pylon to proxy gate. You just have to make a supply depot that doesn't have to be anywhere near the barracks.

1 Probe can start a 15 proxy gate rush. You need 15 SCVs to do the same.

Is it make up dumb stuff day?

CheckPrme

Q. What do you think will change about ZvP?
A. I'm not expecting the Roach range increase to make much difference. To be honest Force Fields were way too powerful. There wasn't much a Zerg could do when most of his units were shut down with Force Fields. Even after the patch, I'm not expecting this to change if the Protoss uses his Force Fields well. I am glad about the Fungal Growth fix, though.

That is so true.... force fields are so strong against zerg that zerg nearly have no chance against a decent p army in mid game..... we do see in youtube videos that even check and cool cant hold of a decent protoss mid game army..... but shouldnt buffing hydras be a better solution than buffing roaches??

"Q. The 1.2 patch preview is out. The Zerg race will be getting a lot of buffs, I hear?
A. Yes, I was glad to hear that. I'm not sure how the patch will affect gameplay, and I don't want to make any conclusions until it is actually out. Though I don't play Protoss, it was somewhat disappointing to see nothing on improving PvT, where Terrans seem to have an advantage."

Even Cool a ZERG player feels that PvT is still in favor of the terrans. Hope Blizz does something about it soon...

I'm wondering why everybody is assuming these changes are the final ones, obviously there is still plenty of time before blizzard release this patch and I'm pretty sure blizzard won't kill one of his unit like this (the reaper), they're too attached to it. And I'm pretty sure that they will reconsider depot > barracks because its pretty extreme at low level (low leagues) against 6pool.

Well, going on past precedent, patch 1.1 had exactly the changes that they stated in their preview.

Also, who blind counters 6pool with rax first?

Well they didn't consider that when they made the zealot build time increase, why would they consider 6 pool now? And how does this change walling off? You make depot, rax, depot just like you would normally do if you weren't cheesing.

Terran players seem pretty terrified of the idea that they might have to play like the other two races and actually survive in the early game. They have been spoiled.
