what a cocksocker. He obviusly said that the terran had the advantage over protoss just because he want to see terran nerfs. As protoss you can simply outrun broodlords, meaning you kit with your colossus and decimate his ground, after this is done, you shut down the remaining broodlords with your stalkers.
Pretty simple, pretty easy.

If they buff BroodLords as Cool suggest, how are Protoss supposed to kill them

Aye, the broken TvP will get broken, IE Fixed. Base units should not have 9 range ever, should at least be an upgrade same as thermal lance so the terran airgame requires effort instead of being "lift swap reactor instant shutdown".

9 range stalkers. Having 9 range on a basic cheap spamable unit is a balanced in every possible way. I mean look at the balanced vikings and their balanced 9 range, no-one has ever complained about them right?

lol? Want stats to show that Zerg was UP? Look at the thread of tournament results after the game was released. Most of them were terran's winning with like 3-4 zerg wins out of 20+ tournaments.
Not going to bring anymore balance discussion but what you said there was incredibly wrong on all accounts.

I know you likely question Blizzard's numbers since they don't fit the narrative -- but atleast post Patch 1.1 TvZ is very balanced if not in favor of Zerg. The biggest imbalance is PvT, for P. These are stats based on countless games and fixed for skill differences -- I'd say a bit more reputable than the subjective stats the Zerglings trot out (e.g. race % in the top 20, etc.).
And since you want to base balance based on tournament victories, you heard it here: a Zerg will once again win the GSL, pre-1.2, followed by a Zerg stomping that will make Tasteless and Artosis blush in embarrassment, in GSL 3 and 4. After which point, they shockingly stop saying "Zerg is having a tough time now." Book it.

Well broodlords just don't do well against terran at all, this should be common knowledge, the vikings eat up broods, the thors/marines eat up the mutas who counter the vikings who have to get within their range to attack the 9 range of the viking. Then if you want to use banes to counter you have siege tanks to worry about, so you need the drop technology which would have only set your army back 200/200. Ultras are definitely more cost effective against T and I think Broods are better against P because P doesn't have two 9 ranged anti air units like the viking and thor. Those are just two units that need tweaking IMO, maybe the viking gains mobility but loses air range or the thor loses some ground damage, I dunno, something about those two units just makes fighting terran a pain and doesn't seem like it's at all hard for terran to do.
Yeah, I'm QQing here!
I don't think roach range should change, reapers are already gonna get nerfed with the speed upgrade at factory. If anything, I think something like giving Queens 50 energy off spawn would greatly help, as you can spread creep and spawn larve, something that simple would really change the early game for the better. Or something simple like giving burrow at hatch tech after pool would greatly change the early game and players would have a choice if they want to use burrowed roaches or go for the lair tech, it would be a risk reward system, what SC has always been known for.

You're still evaluating balance on results of tournaments. If nothing more, this proves "balance" is in the eye of the beholder, as it is defined in different ways depending on your viewpoint. Personally, I reject tournament results as a way to measure balance, and put far more in the results of millions of games over time, that are (no pun intended) balanced by respective skill level.
In regards to that, what's your spin on the Blizz stats?

So.. protoss players can proxy gate, zerg players can 6 pool, but its out of the question if terrans want to proxy rax huh.
The reaper will be dead, hellion harassment will get harder with roach range, and its basically given now that every zerg player can take a 14 hatch without any worry. Looks like much of the units that terran has to micro, and actually require an ounce of skill to use, are going to get the nerf-bat.. thats cool, everyone complains about how "terran doesn't have to micro," yet nerfs like this happen? wat?
It seems to me like every zerg player who's QQ went into this patch want to dominate early game, mid game, and late game, while maintaining the edge in both defense and offense. Sounds like a good patch to me.. Protoss still needs a pylon to proxy gate hur hur
Pylons take 25 seconds, not 30 to build.
A crono-boosted proxy zealot builds in the same time that 1 marine. Now, tell me, how well do unstimmed marines do against zealots in a 1 to 1 ratio?
What people seem to fail to realise is that a barracks without add-ons is operating at roughly 1/2 efficiency of a typical production building. Whereas a chrono-boosted gateway is operating at roughly 1.3x the efficiency of one.

Thats silly, imbalance shows more with higher level play. A pro player can exploit imbalance a lot better then a bronze player, or even a diamond player like myself. 50 terrans didn't just get lucky and win those tournaments

<3 Ignorant Terran nubs.
Rax's take 60 seconds to build, not the 65 of a gateway. Zealots still come out slower chronoboosted than a marine, and a micro'd marine beats a zealot same as a reaper. For the most part with production chronoboost is needed to be on par with the other races until warpgate tech since cost for cost earlygame their units loose to everything. It still myths me to this day why the hell stalkers are more expensive than marauders for this reason.

30+60 = 90? 25+65 = 90?
Zealots take 37 seconds to build.
Chronoboost decreases that by 33%.
That's 25 seconds.
Marines take... 25 seconds to build.
You can't micro a single marine against a zealot. You can't micro 2 marines against 2 zealots. You can't micro 3 marines against 2 zealots. Marines don't start with stim.
You don't need to chronoboost to be on par with the production of a no-addon barracks. A no-addon barracks takes 50 seconds to create 2 supply worth of marines (A reactor barracks can do it in 25 seconds, but it takes 110 seconds to construct. A tech lab barracks can do it in 30 seconds, and takes ~85 seconds to construct). One gateway takes 37 seconds to make 2 supply worth of zealots. When chrono-boosted, it takes 25.

@progamers Interesting insights there. Thanks for the translations.
The Broodlord part was really intersting and somehow right for both matchups. vsT its clear. Vikings with this range just make BL a BAD idea at all and nearly never worth to get when u can get faster Ultras. vsP its more like... "What T3 unit can I get earlier?" and is more smooth to transition to. The one where u need an additional hour to morph to greater Spire or Ultras where u will most likely have some upgrades anyway...
|
I' kinda expecting the roach range to be researchable at lair or hive tech. Blizzard only commented on rocah lategame viability, nothing about early game i don't believe. Maybe 2 roach warrens will become standard for roach play, to get the upgrades out in time.

There's a lot of things that really bug me about this patch.. I think the general consensus is that T>>P early game, but P>T in late game - if there are no other planned changes coming, it feels like to me Blizzard is encouraging Protoss players to cheese more to end the game in like under 5 minutes and thats the 'balancing' to early game. Because as of right now, there are absolutely no changes to the TvP matchup if both players go standard non-cheese openings imo.
And I don't think Zergs need a buildings HP increase - the only reason everything seems to die so fast is because stimmed marauders can just snipe just about any building in less than 5 seconds =/ I rather they just do something with the marauders (especially their concussive shells research, comes way too fast...) instead of doing these other gimmicky stuff that can potentially ruin the balance of other matchups. I mean has a zerg player honestly ever felt their buildings (aside from spine crawlers maybe) were getting sniped too fast when playing against Z or P?
Finally, after trying out battlecruisers for fun for the first time after the nerf in a team game, does anybody think they are relatively too weak now for their cost and tech? Seems like they have joined the carrier 'decent unit that is not really feasible in most cases due to cost/tech with better options already available' group lol.
