My name is Warlion. I am a new commentator on the SC2 scene that specializes primarily in Asian games with the occasional EU/NA game. I love the micro intensive style of the Korean professional gamers and it is my goal to expose them as much as I can for everyone to see.
I believe commentary is to add additional value to the current content, and therefore I believe that commentary is about entertainment while yet being informative. If you want entertainment, well, I bring only the best games from the highest ranked players worldwide. I have special [Asian Game] play list composed of various high ranked Asian players.
Some of my favorite players are:
LiquidTLO (my favorite Terran player), CheckPrime (my favorite zerg player), HuK (favorite Protoss player), IdrA, Hasu, DimaGa, SlayerSBoxer, Tester, oGs Clan, WeRRa Clan, Prime Clan, JulyZerg, Nada, IntoTheRainbow, as you can see this list can go on and on
I'm a Diamond League player myself, so I like to toss up my own games, as well as tutorials to help out (more to come on this down the road).
As unbelievable as it may sound, you've somehow managed to come up with an intro that's even more annoying than Husky's. Personally, I just find you way too over the top. You say "you know" a lot, your jokes are all pretty bland and outdated, and you don't really seem to deliver on your promise of being informative. That is, unless you count the fact that you seem to watch your games before commentating them, in which case you only know useful information because you know what happens.
That's just my opinion. I'm sure some people will like you. Even so, I would say try to cut down on the y'know's and don't prewatch your games.

LOL you hate Huskey's intro? You find it annoying? damn. your one boring dude then cause I can tell you 200,000+ other people who love his intro, myself included.
Warlion is my game name btw . I've used it since Diablo1 and WC1 days
I don't mind the criticism. Its all good. I'm just trying to get exposure without posting on other people's channels cause I don't like doing that.
p.s. some people just think too much into things lol. Its all about entertainment man, if you don't like someones commentary, and god knows there is lots of commentators that are disliked by many simply close the window and move on. GG

ya i agree with you. there are different kind of commentators. some focus more on entertainment and stupid sayings to make the viewer smile.
the other kind of commentator is a more tactical commentary. explaining things and whatnot.
both are fine. they attract different kind of viewers, but in the end its all good.

i agree with this.
This is why Tastosis is so entertaining. Tasteless brings the jokes and entertainment. Artosis is the statistics/strategy/information. I am not implying or saying by ANY means that Tasteless is not just as knowledgable, just that he focuses more on the energy/entertainment.
Together they form.... Tastosis- best shoutcaster on the planet (for english speakers anyways...)
And ill admit i am a huge Tasteless and Artosis fanboy...

u can get both from psystarcraft
perhaps. but psy says things like cum on your face/screen.. i dont know if i would go that far lol.
My opinion - I guess I don't share your humor sir, as I found you to be really, un-funny. That being said, I'm glad you have some fans of your commentaries. If people like it - keep it up.
English isnt ur first language eh? Try casting in that.
And how any1 had a mitch hedberg thought is amazing... have you ever heard mitch's voice ??
i lasted 3 minutes be4 i had to turn it off. maybe you should try to focus on either being- more informational and less annoying. Or more entertaining.
Instead of just completely ignoring both, i think focusing on one, like most players focus on one race, would be a better plan. or at least get decent at one first... and your fake accent/speech pattern was...so beyond aggrivating, there is no way you talk like this in real life.
i just dont do enough drugs to understand your humor at all.. the only time i laughed was when i forwarded to the end and you said "war liiiooon" and like growled it or something...
IDK just either focus on your "jokes" or focus on commenting on the game. Instead you were missing comentating trying to force out a bad joke.

I am just thank full that we have so many commentators around because to watch a replay with commentating is win win situation. I never could watch a replay without somewon blabing about it (besides my own).
Than again everyone prefers a different caster , others like one that gives out a lot of information the others like one that just brings out shere entertaiment. I dont mind either.
Again i am just thank full that there are so many people out there trying to bring sc2 commentating videos just so we can enjoy watching them. It helps the E-sport community a lot.

Hahaha. No worries dude, it's just a personal thing, as a snarky, arrogant brit I hate that accent. If you had a dollar for every time somebody hated on my accent I'd be living in a house made of gold by now.

Ya I'll take your advice bro, and keep doing what I do. I think I finally understand how my commentary is now. People either get the jokes, appreciate the style and like it a lot. Or they don't get the jokes nor appreciate the style and they hate it.
Its all good. Everyone is entitled to a opinion. But my subs keep rising all the time so ya... I don't mind criticism

You sound like you are trying too hard. Most people in voice over and radio barely have to try to do the voice they are doing. You are trying to imitate that too much.

Ever want to hear a different approach to a replay? Maybe little bit of humor, little bit of voice acting? Then look no further my friends as I have arrived!
Didnt found any of those
Also props on random huge orc in the background, wrong game tough bro.
Interesting style, and good to hear a different accent commentating. I would say a little rusty at time with pauses and maybe too much "uh" but this can be a hard problem to overcome, I suppose it will go away with practice.
Still I do like how you make an effort to put some light humour into your casting, i've always loved Totalbiscuits casts because of his great sense of humour.
The voice acting was good, you just need to make it sound a little more natural somehow, i'm not sure how you do it now, but listening to the accent you are trying to emulate more often might help it sink in.

Thanks man. I try to do my own thing and its funny you mention TB, I'm a fan of his work as well .
I think lots of people confuse my accent, and the way I talk with voice acting all the time. No it is not the same lol. Voice acting is when I do the Warlion roar, or I do my Scottish, Austrian, Indian, British etc etc. I do that like 5% of the cast. The rest of the time I speak with my own voice and accent .
Its all fun and games to me anyways. I don't have a partnership or anything and I am only doing it for entertainment and to share my love for the game with others. I work long hours each day, then I go to my MMA gym and do some training there as I do aspire to become a professional MMA fighter, then I get home and make a couple of vids for people to enjoy .

No, he doesn't offer fancy analysis. He does have a competent grasp of the game (better than HD) but he doesn't pretend to be some analytical pro. He's entertaining.
Paris Hilton doesn't do anything.
I'd say Husky is more like the Dane Cook of Starcraft commentary.

Husky is a great commentator. Anyone who disagrees... (insert high pitch yet quick voice) lols? I think 200,000+ would disagree which basically means: Trolls? stfu!
Thanks for your support man. Entertainment is what its all about. Anyone can watch the replays in raw game format, but why? . You can always go to your favorite commentator and enhance your viewing experience
Let me tell you what makes Husky special. Besides the good commentary and funny random comments .
He cares. You can tell he is a good guy deep inside and evidence is clearly visible in his subscription/other channels box. He tries to share the luv and help out other people. Hes not a selfish ass like lots of other commentators and he genuinely tries to help.
He always goes to the live SC2 events such as Pax lan, MLG, live release events, etc etc. Why? Cause he cares about the SC2 community. Now days most people who get into commentary just do it for personal gain (or they may be poor, in that case I don't blame them).
I think its just down right disrespectful to dis on people like Husky, HD, Day9, Artosis, and few others who have done so much for the SC2 community. And if you cannot see that, I'll go ahead and be the first to tell you, fuck yo couch foo!
I'd say Husky is more like the Dane Cook of Starcraft commentary.
If a comparison to Dane Cook is what the fans are using, then I think the overrated debate is over.
Thank you for proving my point.
I picked Dane Cook because Dane Cook is funny. He's not a comedic genius, there are far funnier people, but he's at least moderately entertaining most times. Plenty of people agree.
And some people find him annoying. If those people are smart, they'll realize that this is a subjective issue and will be content to just not watch Dane Cook do comedy.
If those people are less smart, they'll take a big sip of Hatorade and proclaim from the rooftops that Dane Cook is a talentless hack, and anyone who ever finds anything he does amusing is the intellectual equivalent of a lobotomized paramecium.
EDIT: 10 years ago I would have probably used Jim Carrey as an example instead, before he went all "I'm a serious thespian". And personally I never liked him much.
Remember when Ventura walked up to that African dude and said to him: ....esscuse me sir, but your bhhhaaalls are showing" ahhahaha. And the Chicaca part? haha. Chica.....GO! haha.
I like Jim Carrey, hes a funny dude back when he still made comedies more often. Dumb and Dumber? classic
I understand the whole entertainment concept, I feel, however, that really all of the what I'd call "new age" casters just frankly aren't entertaining to me. Keep trying, maybe it just takes time, but I'm just not impressed. Having different styles is one thing, just not quite cutting it is another. When I feel like I'd rather have the caster muted and the game sounds continuing that's not a good sign. At least there is effort and if you enjoy it keep it up.
Ok everyone, this game you have to check out really . Awesome Korean legend IntoTheRainbow vs oGsCool. Highly entertaining match with lots of player and event background for those who are into it.

Hello everyone. I just finished uploading another good game between mTwDimaga and lalush. A ZvZ match up (most rare match up) full of action and excitement. Feel free to check it out and as always there are other videos to be watched on my channel. Lots of high level Asian games as well as popular NA/EU players.
After reading the thread and watching your game of Dimaga vs Lalush a few things come to mind.
You call all the people that doesn't like you trolls, this doesn't seem like a good strategy and is wildy inaccurate.
Somehow you sound really fake (I know you are trying voice acting), even your enthusiasm. Try not to scroll as much with your mouse when you observe but rather click on the minimap. Also you called Dimaga, choimaga in the beginning, attempting to be funny? I guess this wasn't for be, but i thought i would list some things that bothered me and you can take them to heart if you want.
i wish i knew how to change a thread name here. somehow people keep confusing the voice acting thing with trying to talk with an accent or something.
when i said voice acting i mainly meant like my orc voice, or roar, or the accents for example the Indian accent, or the Scottish, British etc etc. not the way i talk all the time, thats not voice acting thats my actual voice and my own accent as english is not my mother language
so im not acting or trying to be fake or whatever else it seems. the voice acting part is confusing people a bit i guess.
