In late Beta (in Phase 2 If I remember correctly), Blizzard implemented some of these changes by mistake (Undocumented change). It lasted one or two weeks.

this change to siege tanks could change tvz quite a bit - its a pretty significant drop in the damage dealt to hydralisks. it'll be interesting to see what happens, hopefully terran players aren't shoehorned into bio play because mech is suddenly hydra food. we shall see!

i can understand them not wanting to make any changes that aren't totally safe at this point. it's only been a month after all. as Z all of these changes are welcome, even though they won't make a huge difference. except the 'huh?' nerf to ultra damage but whatever, won't make a huge difference either. i was still hoping for something a little more significant but honestly i'm not surprised.

I like how nerfing defenses against bioball and nerfing alternative strategies to bioball is their strategy to balance the game. Not enough MM guys. Blizzard wants more MM, now.

Wow this sucks, I really like how TvT is currently all about positioning with tanks and such don't like the idea of making it marauder based (there're already 2 MU's to cover that...). Also I find that tanks aren't so good in other match-ups unless my opponent A moves into a siege line.

The BC changes seem very random, I rarely use BC's and I find that they're easy to counter (as T anyways).

Reapers I guess are the one area where blizzard has actually listened to the community's complaints, since there has been a lot of zergs (idra) whining about them

Overall I don;t think they properly addressed the Terran imbalance issue. 2/3 of the changes were just random and I think it's because one of the devs played a TvT and got pissed cause he lost to tanks/BC's. Real mature blizz...

The protoss change seems to be aimed at low level players getting zealot rushed, although I play Terran so maybe the other races have problems with zealot rushing at high level play too.

Ultralisk change seems very nitpicky, I never saw a problem with them and I think it's good that tier 3 units are cost efficient. Definately don't agree with this change, although since I don't play Z I'm also fairly indifferent to it.

In all I think they just threw the Protoss and Zerg changes in so that all races would be represented. The Terran changes are stupid imo, just retarded blizz wanting to dumb down the match-ups until they're all just "A move marauders/stalkers/hydras into each other and see who wins... oh and here are some other units for if you want to cheese".

eh.. pretty much every top terran I know uses a bio-centered army
pure mech is much, much easier to deal with as zerg

not to mention that tanks are still strong vs hydras according to my tests (i changed the damage and ran several tests)..theyre just not retardedly strong anymore..just strong

5 seconds just by itself is huge. no need to add up over time. with fewer zealots, i imagine marauder and zerglings will become more popular in XvP. well see tho, let me get to rank 1 diamond before i claim i know what i'm talking about.

This is the first balance patch, there is no "most nerfed race".

Unless i'm wrong there has been exactly zero balance patches since this game was released.

If I'm wrong I'm sorry.

Beta was BEFORE the game was released.

Pre-release changes should not count for "most nerfed" complaints.

For all we know there was more nerfs to zerg during early development phases and pre-alpha phases of development, and those changes/nerfs/buffs are equally irrelevant as the Beta nerfs.

This is the first balance patch, you can start your "most nerfed QQ" count now.

Yeah these and adding 5 seconds to barracks build time. They reverted it like one week later and said the changes were meant for internal servers. So some of these changes have been in testing for over a month. The tank change was new though.

In Broodwar,

Tanks did 70 x 75% = 52,5 dmg to Zealots (70 to shields). SC2 Tanks were not really better statswise against Zealots than in BW, but they have good AI and Zealots have charge. AI was still a huge bonus, now at 35 dmg its more even.

Tanks did 70 x 50% = 35 dmg to zerglings and 70 x 75% = 52,5 dmg to Hydras. But the overkill and "Indian line" effect of zergling made tanks suck against most things except tightly packed hydras. But people still made them! They were great agains large units and their function was actually to Siege entrenched positions or defend sieges, not OWN all ground armies and give ultimate map control. The smart AI is such a HUGE game changer that this nerf was totally necessary.

You don't have the right to complain as a Terran player if you haven't played Brood War. You don't realize how good you have it. As a Brood War random player now new SC2 Zerg player, I am still flabbergasted at how fast my zerglings die to tank fire. I'm like : "Oh these tanks are out of position! Attack!" Then I smack my hand on my forehead for forgetting how godly they are now.

Something about the T bioball needs to change at least. If Blizzard does nothing about it, then every T game is just gonna be mass bio from now on since some of the nerfs indirectly buff bio play (weaker tank AoE, slower zealots).
