incontrol keep doing what you do.
i support you all the way brother. Its definitely a big reasons why i ENJOY and LOOK FORWARD to the podcast.
If i wanted some f***ing candy coated ass answer I would watch MLG post interviews or something of the sort.
I tune into the podcast because I want to hear players REAL STRAIGHT UP thoughts about the game, balance, the scene, the community, the players, etc etc.
Its damn exciting.
or form did you attack SeleCT's character or personal self at all.
GO GEOFF!

Hell, Incontrol flat out complimented the guy.
2) Are you really going to compare "You fucking fag" to what Incontrol said? It's not even on the same level. And he didn't discredit SelecT one bit, again, he complimented the guy.
People are just overreacting...again -_-

"did he make a reaper? lololol"
once again, why wasn't select present in the podcast? does he have nothing to offer to the state of the game?
you could even tell JP was a little bit unimpressed by the attitudes.

This is what baffles me the most. Select was able to beat the top 2 protoss in the US, plus Tyler, and Incontrol rips on him for doing the same build every game. Hes not relying on gimmicks, he's just playing solid and consistent, and is outplaying these guys straight up. How can you not appreciate that? His late game seems a bit weak because he never seems to transition out of MMM, but his fundamentals are something to recognize.

I didn't hear the all podcast heard half of it when someone was streaming at midnight. I also get the feeling that they were disrespecting seleCT. Seem like everyone care so much about what incontrol said. I personally really don't care about his opinion. He is been under performing since like forever in sc2. Did he win anything or place on the top3 in any other tournament?

There's a vast difference between getting pissed off and saying something essentially meaningless and sitting down and calmly discrediting another person's success. Both are unnecessary, but they aren't the same.
How can you say he didn't discredit SelecT one bit? He flat out said that winning the TL opens was essentially meaningless. How is that not discrediting his accomplishments?
You can't take things out of context either. If all you do is listen to what's being said and not how it's being said, you're going to miss a lot.
Whether he came out and said it or not, I felt that the underlying implication of everything incontrol was saying was that SelecT didn't earn his wins at MLG appropriately.
I don't secretly hate incontrol and i'm not a SelecT fan. I went into the podcast unconcerned with either, and left with the impression that they were very unfair towards him.
I can't fathom how someone can listen to the podcast and not pick up the sense of hostility, or at the very least, condescension, towards SelecT.
Also
If you've ever worked a 10 hour day to have it discredited by somebody else with more voice than your own, you might know why we feel a little bad for the guy.
I couldn't agree with this more.

No one is discrediting him. Everyone on the podcast said what SeleCT did was amazing. All they were saying was that he would need to add more variety to his play if he wanted to succeed in the future. This rings true for everyone, of course, but expecially for SeleCT since he used one strategy the entire tournament.
You people are retarded.

Well I don't mean the podcast, they do what they're there to do and poke fun at everything while also being critical. I more of meant some of the posts in this thread and the other MLG related threads.

I want to know their opinions of ajtls' play against Idra.
but that might be a trap.

It's pretty funny how everyone is upset at incontrol for saying something obvious (same build won't keep winning) but still true and not at all disrespectful. I'm more surprised select isn't getting more flak for refusing to practice with machine then half blaming his loss on a lack of practice with zergs (granted, machine obviously isn't on the same level as idra, but some practice has to be better than none).

his build will keep winning if the protoss cronies continue to refuse to build a stalker first.
but nobody mentioned that in the "state of the game"

Same, those were some of the most intense games i saw during DC

Strange thing was I remember Sen discussing potential training together with Select (actually discussing it with select, not the viewers) on his stream and I'm pretty sure that at some point there was some games between them.
Either way it's kinda good to see incontrol at least stand by his words rather than backing out on them cos people make a fuss about everything he says.

Incontrol says a lot of funny things, I always enjoy listening to him, but part of being a comedian is knowing that there is a line.
Generalizing a country is funny. Demeaning someone's hard work is not. (he didn't stop at Select's hard work, MLG organizers anyone? right in front of JP no less...)
|
This Incontrol and Slasher argument is sooo awkward. Not going to say whom I agree with but it is agonizing.
|
My only issue with the Select thing was that for a guy who came second he took a disproportionate amount of shit talking. No one else took even a fraction of the crap he did (Huk took a bit of crap) and only one person finished higher than him. That's why it's so messed up. But whatever, it's easy to talk crap on someone when you know they don't listen to the shows and aren't in the room etc. So fair enough i suppose.
