Anyone else getting annoyed with Day[9] interrupting people. Last week he was constantly laughing in the middle of iNcontroL's comments and you can tell he was getting annoyed and in all fairness it was pretty rude and he wasn't laughing at anything funny and his mic is really loud so it just overthrow's everything. I like his daily's but on SoTG he's been kinda annoying.

I tried tweeting day9tv, but I'm assuming he gets spammed to death every minute of the day and barely reads more than a handful to keep sane, so I'll post it here as well, in case someone else can get through to him:
To counter the "freeze on exit" crash with SC2, use Log Out, then hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc and use End Process on SC2.exe in Task Manager.
This is the only way I can play without having to either wait 2 hours to unfreeze (seriously) or reboot the entire system when I'm done.

I understand what you mean, but you can also look it another way, last week when they talked briefly about BW, Day9 lit up and really wanted to discuss it, i view it as his love for the game, rather than him trying to be annoying by cutting people off.
Sean is a mannerbear, his love for BW just bursted through and he could not control it infront of incontrol (i know you c wat i did)

I disagree. I think the casting is what makes a vod entertaining and/or valuable, and a low quality recast has about the same, if not less, value than a bare replay. People working their asses off to produce good content are unlikely to take big risks and people who go on their way to redistribute stuff in low-quality just to show they can will continue to go unnoticed as they are right now.
|
Ya but just because he isnt trying to be annoying does not mean that he isn't.
I realize that Day9 is a vocal guy and he laughs a lot and often, but it is still kind of disrespectful when you interrupt others, however you do it.

I don't understand where that sentiment that cruncher does the same thing all the time comes from. It's not at all true. He's one of the more unpredictable players.

Unfortunately in the vod the Skype frames freeze every couple seconds. =/

Doesn't work for me, I can't get task manager to launch when SC2 freezes, I do however get cmd.exe up and there i just go "taskkill /f /im sc2.exe /t" and it kills the whole process tree and I'm back in business... Really annoying bug, though :/

Tyler's comments about Protoss' possibilities were kinda fun. And so true...

That's fairly easy to control. Both Youtube and Youtube casters would be aware that casts off of those replays are illegal material, and Youtube handles that fairly efficiently these days.
Obviously, you couldn't prevent it from happening on some of the more obscure and shady parts of the internet, but then again you can already find actual NASL VODs on some trackers.

Great show, really loved this one.
Although, one thing i disagree with. Tyler said that people didnt give Cruncher enough credit for defending in that Shakuras game, but really he didnt defend properly at all. I mean he lost his 4th base a lot of times, and he lost so much stuff trying to defend and ended up just putting like 8 cannons at his third.
I mean if he had held it off perfectly then yea, he should be credited, but he didnt. But he lost probes, nexuses, stray colossi etc, and it was clear that he couldn't keep up at all. (when you put up 8 cannons to defend your third that means that you arent comfortable defending it). If he had totally shut down the drops and completely denied all the roach shenanigans that would be a great defense, but that's not what he did.
But then in the end he just sort of went all-in and attacked and won, which was sad. Obviously Mondragon should have had more of an army, but still. I just feel that he doesnt really deserve any credit at all. Hope he can prove himself against Naniwa although i really doubt it

Really annoying bug, though :/ You're doing it wrong. You can't hit Quit in-game. You have to alt-tab out of it to access the Task Manager, and then kill it without exiting in any way. It seems hitting Quit starts a procedure to clean up memory or whatever, and it freezes the system entirely. Just use Log Out so Battle.net knows you're out, and doesn't hit you with timeout errors if you want to log back in.

Quick suggestion: Why not make Anna's question an actual staple of the podcast? (much like the almighty Cockhorse) Just let her use google voice, forget about the other lame google voice callers.
I greatly appreciate Anna adding variety to SotG's 3-hour long schlongfest, but the interruption gag is getting old =)

Was still a great game.
To me it felt like he had the tempo and controlled the pace of the game... but he let it slip somewhere in the mid game (most likely due to the 1 or 2 drops that ended up being hulk smashed while still in the air) and after that I think it was a losing battle where he just wasn't quite doing enough damage as the collossi count started to slip. That and Day[9] made me giggle every time he said that Mondragon was making the anti-air army of roaches.
=)

Im not a fan of his, but i cant help but feel cruncher is being made a scapegoat. As tyler said it is hard to defend against a zerg playing like mondragon did, and yes he barely managed to hold him off. By the time of the engagement though, they had pretty much equal supply of 150, and in that case protoss is way ahead. After all, roach is the same supply but half the cost of a stalker. As for him putting up alot of canons, that is just to buy time as the protoss army is very slow and is vulnerable when split up. He played well that game, they both did. I couldnt comment about him playing the same style every game, i havent watched him enough but i highly doubt that is true. As for his next round, i cant see him making it through. Nani is a beast. I will give him the credit he deserves though, before his TSL qualifier victory nobody knew him and he has made the ro8, the only NA player to do so.

Well, it's mainly because of the map. Blizzard fix the map but everyone still use the imbalanced ( yes the backdoor rock version IS imbalanced ) version in tournaments.

I am pretty sure there are addons for firefox that would allow for downloading videos from justin.tv.
