I'm fairly sure the MLG crew knows things didn't go perfectly, considering they were making public statements about their mistakes. Most people who care to know are already aware that MLG didn't go smoothly. I'd prefer the next State of the Game show be about something more interesting, like what we couldn't see or experience without being there. More of a focus on the tournament or event would be great, considering many of us who relied on the stream weren't able to see very much of it. Yep, plus none of them really had the viewer experience to know what really happened for us, so they can't really talk about it from that point of view. I'd prefer to know how the tournament went for them, because I already know how it went for me (from a stream viewer point of view).

I really want to hear their perspective on the sound proofing. I'm not sure if NonY used other headphones but the sennheiser HD595's he always sports on SOTG are open ear headphones. When I used to wear these I could have music blasting in them and still hear the doorbell or telephone, even if they were up at a healthy volume. I'm not trying to take anything away from kiwi about possibly hearing the crowd, he's a phenomenal player, but a crowd scream that loud must make him think something is up and something nontraditional pvp is coming.

They were at the event, which was by all accounts pretty fun. When they talk about it, they're probably going to go 'Well obviously MLG had it's share of problems, lag was a pain in the ass and I hear they had a lot of problems with the stream. And if they want to continue being successful, they need to fix that. They absolutely do. But the thing about such a large, multiple location LAN is that their are going to be issues like this-' etc etc Then they are going to move on. Which is a good thing. I don't want to hear about how I couldn't watch for the first two days; I already know.

Thing is, I can't. It would be an absolute disaster unless you made a point of making stream failures into a drinking game.

I know the stream was terrible.. and while I got pretty mad at MLG for the shitty content, I don't want to listen to other people rage about it for 2 hours. I want to hear about the games, the stories, the players, the teams and the drama. I want to hear analysis of what makes naniwa so fucking good, how select has changed his style around, the failure of some notable players to make it far. I don't want to hear "mlg is bad" because I ALREADY KNOW.

Yeah, it's almost like them talking about GSL and stuff which also most of the viewers will have experienced... MLG fails at basically everything except that and it should just be mentioned whiteout going into it?... WTF? On April 04 2011 20:39 The KY wrote: Then they are going to move on. Which is a good thing. I don't want to hear about how I couldn't watch for the first two days; I already know. 2/4 of them are insiders (2 players, 2 commentators and no idea what JP is doing aside from that), they probably know more than we and it would be interesting to hear their take on it. The Stream-Downtime is one thing (not good, but shit happens and it should never have happened to that extentt), not showing a ton of very interesting and important games is a whole other story which was a choice the MLG made for some reason no one except themselves will ever understand... The tournament format is also still a bit of a topic (just compare the amount of games the diffrent players had to play depending on their seed/group).

This way I don't really know what's gonna happen, but I can see a situation where I lose all my respect for the SotG crew if they fail to hammer down on stream quality, stream downtime, lack of alternate games to jump in, players downtime, lack of soundproofing (check idra interview), only way to follow the games and brackets being twitter, laughable winner ceremony and so on. There's just so much fail to talk about and if everybody is gonna be too diplomatic and not say how they really feel about it like they do every other time I must say i will be extremely disappointed. Don't let us down SotG! You know that they didn't watch the stream and could follow all games by standing behind the players? After the first day you also couldn't hear the commentators on the main stage, so why should they criticize something which was already fixed? They will talk about the event from a player's perspective. On April 04 2011 21:03 Palmar wrote: I'm going to disagree with everyone in here. I wasn't at the event and they all have pretty unique perspectives from the event itself. I don't think it's unreasonable for a Starcraft 2 podcast to talk about a Starcraft 2 event that they attended. They'll be talking from a unique perspective not known to the majority of their listeners. If this doesn't fall directly under the category of exactly what they should be talking about... what is your alternative topic that you'd like to hear them cover? You're preemptively complaining about their podcast content and not suggesting alternative topics. ![]()

I don't want to hear "mlg is bad" because I ALREADY KNOW. This! I want to hear stories that we couldn't see: -What went wrong for Tyler? -The mood of Incontrol since he reached a great 4th place (gratulation!) but misses his chance for his first title (don't wanna take anything from him but he said it's his goal and he missed it) -The story of Naniwa (did they talk to him) -What did you do when you were not playing? Meeting/Talking to other players? Maybe meeting someone interesting for the first time? How was the atmosphere between all players? -How was the atmosphere in general/fan reactions? -Which other players impressed you or was surprisingly bad? There are so much more interesting things than the system of MLG sucks or the technical problems were bad. Hope for a great next show and I think it will be...like always! ![]() (Maybe you can get TLO on the show since his series vs. Incontrol was (maybe) one of the best and we couldn't see it.)

I definitely want to hear about the side-stories and how the ACTUAL event was. What we don't need is 2 hours of ranting about how terrible the stream was and how MLG failed or whatever. I do hope for some good game analysis and stories though.

But there is more to this event than just that. With extended series I wonder if the people asking and trying to talk about it have gone back through this thread and watched the older SOTGs. The issue was discussed to death and infact was baned from the show if I recall correctly. Nothing in this MLG brought any new information on extended series or demonstated anything that we didn't know would happen. Like it or loath it. It is how MLG is played at the moment.
