Give em a break; they've been casting for 7 hours at this point. Gotta save something for Saturday and Sunday.
That's understandable and all but don't keep me waiting for a "state of the game" that's 15 minutes long and doesn't talk about the state of the game. It was a cool recap of the days games and all but it wasn't a SotG so they shouldn't call it one. At the very least they could have started 10 minutes earlier when they were all sitting on stage looking at day9's cell phone while terrible music played. Not blaming the "pillars" for this btw, just sayin it's lame that MLG would call that "state of the game"
It sounds like you had some unrealistic expectations and should be assessing that before you go on a rant about MLG.
What exactly would be some realistic expectations? When I hear that a SOTG is going on, I expect Starcraft nerds talking about Starcraft for a couple hours. That's what SOTG is and what it has been for as long as I've been watching it. What they just showed on the MLG stream was basically just a 30 minute recap of the day with SOTG hosts and an announcement by MLG staff.
realistic expectations would be exactly what happened. those guys just played or casted for 7 hours, theyre tired and need to get up early for tomorrow so obviously it had to be short. MLG had to make an announcement and used a show ran by one of their employees as a platform. If MLG didnt have to make an announcement we wouldnt even have the 10-15 mins of predictions and discussion.
whatever, nobody's making you watch anyways.
I'm not asking the Casters/players slave for another hour or two for my enjoyment. I'm asking them not to say SOTG, when what is going to happen is a glorified recap.
Who cares what they call it? Seems like it's appropriate as anything to use the SotG name when you have most of the hosts there. It's really sickening to watch people on this site repeatedly work themselves into a frenzy over disappointment caused by no one other than themselves.
I'm not in a frenzy. I'm not calling JP or day9 or anyone names. I'm not saying MLG is horrible. I just expected a little more.
Yeah there's a difference in being in a raging frenzy and just stating the fact that what they called a "state of the game" show was not up to the standards of the show (ie: 1/12th of the usual time, didn't discuss the state of the game) and some of us are disappointed that MLG would bill this daily recap (which I liked btw and agree with the others saying they should do it every day) as a state of the game. Mild, but valid disappointment which should be voiced by the people who feel that way in an appropriate manner in order to improve the experience of MLG.
Last week's SOTG they stated the MLG special SOTG was going to be very short. Don't know why you would expect more.

Yeah they had stated that the SOTG would be around 30 minutes or so depending on how much time they had.

True, but for some reason the sound (especially the warning) doesnt always go off. http://www.gomtv.net/2011gstls1/vod/65680 Game 2 about 14:30 in, you hear part of it, but not the "Nuclear Launch Detected". I dont know if it is a bug or not, but it does happen.
If you go to http://pro.majorleaguegaming.com/live/sc2_red and click on the vod button in the player. On the left side there is a list of catogories, one of which is Show Specials. In there is SoTG p1 and p2

Go to MLG League Membership, if you are a Silver Member search for voucher under the MLG League Member Benefits. If you are not repeat the process with HotPocket

I guess there was an old bug when you had limited channels, but that got fixed. Either way, when you watch the clip, Naniwa isn't placing a FF within a second or two of the nuke going off. He probably just missed it on his own.

But the sound is so unique and distinct. Someone was also pointing out earlier that there is a trend with Protoss and getting caught by Nukes too...seems weird 0o
