Lol yeah, but he's new to SOTG, so I was speaking more on the show as a whole. Even leah follows the tournament scene more than the others, so I don't mind her on the show.
Oooh can't wait to find out what it is. I am sure JP knows what he is doing and it will be awesome. This is my favorite event of the week, and I have enjoyed every single episode, so I have no complaints. Yeah I am a SoTG fan boy but I feel I need to balance out some of the crushing negativity so many are displaying.

What does Day9 add to SOTG that you don't get with Artosis, only Artosis is funnier on SOTG (he's a good target for InC/Tyler/JP's jokes, unlike Day9) and knows more about the Korean scene.
Day9 is great at MLG and on his daily but he's never been particularly great on SOTG.

I liked this. JP would be like "anyone watch gsl this week? were there any good games?" and the answers would be "uhh no protoss" "still catching up" "good games but I can't remember any of them" "there was this awesome TvT but I can't remember who or when" and then Leah would be the only one who actually remembered anything specific and could finally spark a discussion.
To be honest though, we could probably get the same benefit if the pillars took 15 minutes to go over the past week's GSL schedule to remind themselves what they saw, and think about what they want to talk about on the show.

What makes Day9 the best person on the show?
1) he is relatively unbiased. besides jp, he is probably the most unbiased out of everybody. 2) people want to hear his opinion (solid fact even if you dont). 3) what makes leah so great for the show? no offense to her but what made SOTG great was the fact that ordinary viewers got to hear what the PROS think and their opinions.
Look back at that episode where Day9 argued with Idra about imbalances and see why he deserves a spot on the show. The man is a gigantic part of the community and therefore a fantastic candidate for a show like SOTG. In the past he was not great on the show, I will admit, but recall that he spent very little time on it due to school and whatnot. The show is not about being funnier, but about having a viewpoint centered on the starcraft community and good vocal ability to express it. Day9 more than qualifies for this and I can only see his participation on the show getting better in quality now that he has more spare time.

I pretty much agree with this. The show seems more bland now. Everyone just quietly and politely answering questions. With Lea and Artosis on there now there just seems to be some kind of disconnect that was not there with the old show. Not to hate on Leah, but she seems to have basically no input on any of the discussions. Artosis is one of my favorite nerds, but he dose not bring the same energy that Geoff had.
I love how people say Leah contributes ~0 to SOTG. Listen to the last few shows, whenever there are facts being brought up about major tournaments, Leah is right there with the information. She may not be a pro-gamer, or have strong community connections with the SC2 scene, but she is an avid fan of the game and it shows.
In terms of the show's premise (get a bunch of SC2 folks together and talk about the game), yes, she's the weakest member. However, she adds a professional perspective to the mix, a female voice/personality, and is extremely knowledgeable about the pro-scene.
I agree much strongly with this. Leah knows the scene, watch the games and without her on the show no one would have the knowledge of the actual games. In the current state of the show, she's the only one that knows something about the "state of the game". Day and Artosis could be in the same category but they're not, day doesn't watch the GSL and artosis doesn't remember what is happening in his show. And both don't really know about the tourneys they don't cast. Imo Leah is important toi have, and she should impose herself and even talk more.

Leah doesn't replace Day9.. you've got to be joking. If saying what the matches were on GSL is the only thing she does on SotG then there's still a massive gap to fill that was Day9.
She knows nothing about the actual game, and although that is less significant now that they don't talk about balance so much, she adds very little to most of the discussions.
It's okay having her on occassionally but having her on as a pillar is a definite no... and Day9/Artosis/Inc/Tyler are all pretty different actually, I'm not sure how they are similar.
i'll still watch the podcast, but i cant say im excited for him to return. ive just grown a general dislike for him over time, with all the assorted things he has said/done. im sure it will still be a good podcast anyways <3.
i guess though im a little worried that the podcast might get crowded. hopefully 6 people (5 pillars + guest) isnt too much

oh wow, that would be actually cool as well. Both Idra and Artosis are complaining how good bilnk-stalkers are. And State of the Game will turn in to "State of the Imbalance". I would definitly watch that
I figure we won't have Artosis tonight. Since he usually covers the code a qual's and they start around the exact same time then i imagine he'll be there. Maybe not but a lot of big names are trying to qualify today. QXC, DRG, and i also believe Ganzi and boxer will be there as well. Hopefully he still stays on as a full time host though.
But with all that news from twitter it looks like our loveable Geoff is back <3 we missed you son.
