High dpi is not automatically good for fps, its motha fuckin preference. On top of this, the main important thing in a mouse is hertz, not dpi. My $30 ime 3.0 has more hertz overclocked then any shitty million dollar razer mouse.

Please don't buy anything from razer or these other XTREME gaming companies. Many of my teammates have been suckered into buying razer gear over the years and my old microsoft intellimouse with side buttons has outlasted at least 4 generations of their mice. My mouse is still going strong and not once have I wanted more DPI. I'm especially pissed at razer because their small and overpriced $50 mousepad (WITH CARRYING CASE ROFL) replaced the $9 enormous super mat they used to sell at Comp USA. Thanks razer, definitely looking out for my pro gaming interests. Without your scientifically (note: not) advanced mousing surfaces I'd never be ABLE TO GO FROM JOE TO PRO IN 1.337 seconds (gaming glove reference for those that witnessed that abomination of an ad campaign). Basically this stuff just appeals to the same sort of person who buys those cs servers that advertise 10,000+ FPS mega boosted hyper laser accelerated. Link to gaming glove ad? Sounds hilarious

thats a lot of cows. you sure your mouse has the DPI high enough for that? you don't want a shitty farm.. anyways back on topic, if fakesteve says its good that means a lot more to me then random TLer's imo. Is it worth the "upgrade" from other razer products tho?

Still, pretty ballsy move to take out the navigation island and arrows. Respect for that.

Refresh rate ("hertz") is irrelevant because you can use software to make any mouse have 1000Hz (I use 500 on my Krait, for example, which is natively 125).

Refresh rate ("hertz") is irrelevant because you can use software to make any mouse have 1000Hz (I use 500 on my Krait, for example, which is natively 125). It's the opposite. High dpi is necessary for very high sensibility users, when the mouse needs to be able to dectect each minimal movement. But that is rarely the case. Low sensitivity is commonly used because it provides much better accuracy and precision. That's why a lot of professional fps players still use the intellimouse 3.0 which i believe only offers 400 dpi. Also to increase frequency i'm not sure how it is now, but a while ago, you had to overlock the mouse chip. Just google "best mouse", and you'll see over and over again: the consensus is that the best mice are the intelimmouse 3.0, the razer death adder and the logitech mx510. There's even a website somewhere, where they actually measured the speed at which the mouse would failt to be precise, among other things. All those 3 scored on top of almost everything (except dpi, price, extra buttons and stuff like that, which doesn't matter for practical use). There's no point in buying anything else more expensive, when cheaper ones are as good or better. I myself have played FPS competitively first UT99 then Urban terror, and this mx510 has survived for about 5 years, and is in perfect shape - i take good care of it as well. Another very important thing to have in mind is the mouse pad. It helps a lot that you can slide the mouse effortlessly yet not as much that there's no friction at all. Just that small amout is perfect. For that i'd recommend a steelpad 30cm or so (mine's a 5L), but nothing like googling and deciding for yourself. As for the headphones, the top brand is Sennheiser, followed by Steelseries. The steelseries have headphones with changed tones as to improve hearing in different games, be it FPS, RTS or other types. For instance in FPS headphones they change some bass tones to increase the volume of walking steps, firing bullets, etc. What generally happens is that products attached to games and such are more of a marketing move than an engeneering novelty, so beware.

Too bad they are horrendously overpriced. Why not just buy BETTER razer gear without the sc2 name for cheaper? The pricing makes no sense.
