If they weren't looking for input, why have beta forums where people could post their opinions? I'm really hoping this whole chat thing is just a big misunderstanding...

I really like the new ladder system, its a LOT better than the another one. but no chatooms and no crossrealm play is soooooo terrible : /

I'm just so confused. They're trying to trick as many people into playing as long as possible with Bnet 2.0, but the experience is so lonely x_X;.

Blizzard. Sure there will be a lot of players buying it initially, but if the game get really bad ratings that limits the influx of new players that don't have much attachment to SC1 and therefore are much more influential to reviews and ratings. Yeah that really stopped MW2 sales, right? Its a childish action that doesn't get anything changed. No one turns to Amazon for reviews for games because its so full of idiotic moves like this by "slighted" nerds and false plants by companies. Game is fine, BNet 2.0 is garbage. Luckily that can change if we express our opinions in proper channels... like the beta forums! Not whining on Amazon.
You think so? A little research tells you that they aren't even talking about MW2 PC sales anymore because they are so insignificant compared to XBOX and PS3 sales. The most reliable numbers I can find put PC sales around $170,000 in 2009 + whatever was sold through steam. Amazon has PC edition responsible for 6% of their sales.
It's obviously a bit hard to track when you don't have the numbers but it does look like they missed some sales with the PC version.
I think the rest of your post is naive at best. A lot of the "boycotters" bought MW2 anyway, but that's not the story for many of the MMORPGs that have released and failed and failed and failed in the last 3 years. Gamers do have the power to tell the companies to fuck off. Blizzard isn't listening so it's time to treat them how they treat us.

Its sad that SC2 is such a great game, but is currently hamstrung by some truly baffling decisions regarding BNet 2.0.
Did BNet have flaws? Totally. Massive hacking, spammers, a pretty jumbled custom game list, etc.
I see what they were going for with custom games, by allowing you to find whatever game you wanted to play easily instead of guessing at what each custom game name was, but it just doesn't work. Its a pain in the ass.

Wow, fuck the US, EU, ASIA accounts man.. that is ridiculously bullshit that you can't do cross regions. We need another ICCUP or WGT to fuck that Bnet shit. /end rant
Since I'm in Asia, I'm going to let any competitive player borrow/use my account just so that they can play against koreans or play in tournaments. That should boycott their anti cross region shit.

I don't see how it deserves to be called 2.0, personally. lol. It's moreso modified, since 2.0 suggests it would be an improvement as opposed to a bunch of features that people liked being taken out and a bunch of features that are in to try to addict people.
I was addicted to Starcraft 1 thanks to the community I found and was able to chat with regularly. I'm not going to one on one chat with people and be motivated to keep playing.

if you are north american and you want your opinion counted you should post in the "Frank Pearce Interview and lack of Chat Rooms" thread because that's the thread they are leaving open.
so to say it again, if you are in the beta for NA and you want your voice to be heard, post here:
http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=25170606873&sid=5000&pageNo=1
be polite and don't be stupid
there is probably an equivalent thread in the EU forums
wish i could just put this in the OP but instead ill spam it every few pages

And a lot of the 1 star amazon reviewers will end up buying Starcraft 2 anyways. When it came out MW2 was one of the best selling games on Steam, and tons of people in the "boycott MW2" groups bought it. Sales more than likely didn't level off much from COD4, and what little did was probably made up for the fact they didn't spend as much time/money/effort on the PC version. Activision Blizzard knows this will probably be true of a game like Starcraft, so they really don't give a shit about your Amazon votespamming.
PC Sales were insignificant for MW2 because PC is increasingly a niche platform compared to consoles. Its really meaningless to them for that game.
Obviously since PC is the only platform here its vital, but I think you overstate the "power" of Amazon reviews. Spore flopped because it was a bad game and it had record-high piracy numbers, not because of 1 star Amazon ratings from people who didn't even play the game.
I still hold up for BNet 2.0, and even if BNet's custom games interface is bad (for both UMS and friend games, it is), the game is still worth it to me for an excellent single player and the matchmaking. I really don't give a shit about the politics of it if the game is fun.

Three parts to game then MBS/Automine then Beta delay then Hard counters then moving shot micro then Bnet 2 (legit complaints but "game unplayable" is overblown) bnet 2.0 slipped under the radar because we were under the impression that it was just a place holder for a totally revolutionarily awesome system that blizzard was constantly hyping. now that we're a month out from the release date and we've realized that blizzard was lying and nothing is going to change naturally you're going to see an uproar

So basically he's saying he doesn't want us Aussies lagging up the USA players, so we can go and lag with crappy Thai and Fili internet instead. Awesome.
However, I don't think I will miss chatrooms as long as there are basic group chat for small communities and clans.

Why do people keep throwing around facebook like starcraft is becoming farmville 3.0. All it does is add friends. There is no "jimmy found a hamster" spam. Its a useful tool and helped me connect to five other people I grew up with that I had no idea played starcraft.

How is complaining about Battlenet's multitude of problems crying wolf? Is Kennigit also crying wolf?
And for the record Macro WAS a problem. Dustin even said the game is better as a result of our complaining about it.
So yah your wrong on so many levels.

I can already imagine the amount of non-english spam/shit talking I will get (that they think we understand) playing with south-east asians just like in HoN. Basically Australia is fucked in sc2 LOLOL

What a joke the new battle.net truely is. Blizzard just hasn't got a clue. They are catering to extreme morons and the feature set suffers because of it.
SC2 is gonna need a private server to save it, it seems.

Wow I might say the same thing lot of people said, I dont know, I didnt read through 47 pages I'll admit but quotes like this
Another thing I thought you'd promised was chat rooms within Battle.net...
Nope. No plans for specific chat rooms at this time. You'll be able to open up chats direct with your friends, and when we add clans and groups there'll be chats for your clans and groups, but no specific plans for chat rooms right now. Do you really want chat rooms?
Loads of people within the community are wanting Looking For Group chat rooms, and that sort of thing.
Well, if we've done our job right in terms of the matchmaking service, then hopefully they won't feel like they'll need it for that service.
they make me think.. you know what.. blizzard doesnt really care about the things we want.. yea they want to balance SC2 so they take our knowledge about the beta right now, but concerning things we want in b.net and the direction they are taking, they just dont give a shit about us. They dont care what we want. They'll just shut down anything they haven't planned to do(and while they're at it, they'll take out proleague and MSL and OSL too, since they dont directly get money out of that) and despite having promised us several things, they'll just pretend that they never did promise these things, and pretend that these things are something barely anyone even wants if anyone at all.
I was all nice about blizzard up until this point because I like SC2 But you know what
FUCK YOU blizzard fuck you
