Guys, calm down this isn't the end of the world.
Think about all the exciting NEW features that battle.net has, like matchmaking you with a guy that's 3 leagues lower than you in a 2v2 game. That's exciting. Not only do you get to play starcraft, but you get to be a game tutor too!
Exciting!
What about going into 4v4s and always being matched with 2 protoss players who are really good at making cannons and carriers? Sounds like fun, right? Well, it is!
We've also added a custom match system that lets a single player prevent the entire server from playing a map by afking. If that wasn't enough; WE HAVE PORTRAITS NOW! Portraits are pretty cool. ACHIEVEMENTS TOO. Whoa. I know you're impressed now.
Seriously, who wants all those 'old' features anyways. I'd rather be able to make my picture a DARK TEMPLAR after jumping through hoops.
Its a good trade guys.

Ya, I as thinking about this earlier too. He really shouldnt have moved the poll to the top.

Activision has a strong yet firm grip of Blizzards balls, but It's squeezing harder and harder.

what is blizz thinking.. this isn't even good for the casuals

There is so much wrong with that interview Im almost choking. Best part:
"What you see now is pretty much what you will get at release."
So you spent years making battlenet 2.0 and its... just like wc3 battlenet only without the sensible "friend" system and chatrooms and maphosting and cross server play?
I really thought they would have some surprise for us at release. Like, here is the REAL, NON BETA version.
|
this is retarded, if blizzard truely reads feedback, read this: WE NEED: chatrooms crossrealm play Lan connectivitiy
why? to stage tournaments and play them without lag in a lan environment, or play huge tournaments in asia online ...and ask ANY tournament moderator and they will tell you that chatrooms are essential for keeping up with the work in a tournament. Also they are just fun...
blizzard is shooting themselfs in the foot, they say they want to make a sustainable "pure rts" why do they remove three key ingridientes for that ???????????
Edit: there is no good reason to deny us any of those three things I mentioned. they say its not viable because of lag issues, but thats just not true. Maybe sometimes it lags but its better than not being able to connect at all..thats called being blocked..
why no lan? "we wanna make the internet experience the most desireable" ... COME ON, its about Zero ping tournaments... stop wasting ammo on your feet blizz

Nah, Blizzard just made some bizzare assumptions what average 'casual gamer' wants and stick to them. There's just one tiny problem - there's no 'casual gamer', everybody's different
|
im so angry and frustrated that i have entered the serene rage state. I beileve the phrases such as "enough is enough", "end of the line" and "what the fuck have you been smoking.....seriously?" sum it up
|
wow, blizzard is turning into EA, not listening to their customers. Pretty sad Why do they still refuse to acknowledge the community's want of easily implementable chat channels, cross server play, and everything else? Just sad blizzard, definitely a step down.

seriously wtf - blizzard is losing so much trust : (

Players were able to play worldwide 10 years ago on SC, Diablo and WC. PSN and XBL are global communities. It's a laughable statement. The vast majority probably don't care about region locking, Blizzard probably see those that do care and are actually going to purchase multiple copies as complete suckers. They say it themselves - no cross region play, can't use a key across different clients but it's fine and dandy, if you pay for an extra copy. His excuse is that the game is in 3d now. You have to transfer 3 dimensions across the internet, that's not possible with today's technology!! They should contact FedEx or something. I heard this guys truly have no bounds when it comes to transferring all sort of packages

Even WoW had chat channels after a fashion, and SC2 doesn't? Amazing. You'd think they would learn something from multiple huge successes.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
What they should do:
[x] I want to be able to play against people from all over the world. (Might increase latency. You will only be able to play against those that enabled that option.) [ ] No, i don't want it. (Standard case for casuals that don't want lag)
PLEASE!
(something similar for custom games ofc too)

I was so hopeful that it would be much different upon release and all worries would be cast aside, but now I don't think so. dude, if the things dont change, im gonna boycott bnet2.0 for sure. Be careful about these boycotts. Modern Warfare 2 had the same shitstorm regarding no dedicated servers. So many people were like "FUCK INFINITY WARD, GONNA BOYCOTT THIS SHIT". And then when the game was released, a screenshot surfaced of everyone in the "boycott mw2" steam group shown playing modernwarfare 2. Pretty much showed all the boycotters to be a bunch of childs.
The problem is, the actual game of starcraft 2 is still intact, and lets face it, its a pretty fun game. People who say they will boycott it will still buy it as the game is still there. It is just going to leave this awfully hollow feeling when we log into b.net 2.0 and see this sterile environment.

Let's try and answer his question! 4 people don't want chat channels so far...that's 4 people too many.

As soon as there are some private server similar to iccup with chat channel and a decent ladder. What good reason do you have to use bnet 2.0 ?
Acheviements ? lol Facebook ? rofl Anti-Hack-System ? rofl Lag ? I lold ... and so on.
They[Blizzard] keep talking about gaming experience and how great it is supposed to be with bnet 2.0 . I just dont see any of it

God, that tone and almost arrogant way he brushed off the questions was ridiculous. Ugh, what can you say. I love the fact that oh yea, you can play with other regions, just gotta buy another copy. Obviously that it would entail eventually buying all 3 versions. Confidence and faith decreasing at an alarming rate.
