The Terran army cost structure seems to promote using only marauders, which leaves siege tanks out in the cold. Mech should have a strong position within the Terran army. Here was an attempt to try to fix that...
Marauder Nerf Cost: 100 minerals, 35 gas Hit Points: 110
The marauder gas cost increased from 25 to 35, while reducing the hit points from 125 to 110.
Siege Tank Buff Cost: 150 minerals, 100 gas Hit Points: 180
The siege tank gas cost decreased from 125 to 100, while increasing the hit points from 150 to 180.
My goal was trying to make siege tanks have a more dominant role within the terran army instead of just massing marauders.

Why would they want people to mass tanks instead of marauders?
Dude this thread is gonna get closed- you dont give any reason for wanting to promote tanks over marauders, and there is no indication to me that either unit is so overused / underused that they need these changes. Personally i rarely use marauders in mass(playing T only), and i use siege tanks in about 50% of my games.

Increasing the health of siege tanks wouldnt make them more viable. It's their cost that really hinders there use in games and there mediocre damage:cost ratio. Like the above poster mentioned, if you want this thread not to be closed instantly I suggest you write something more persuassive then simply a few sentences, because I'm certainly not convinced.

I've considered that marauders need a tweak. 35 gas would probably be appropriate. 50 is too much.
But I'm pretty sure TL frowns on balance posts since they seem a little pointless on this forum and would belong better on blizzard's.
If you think tanks don't have a place it seems like you've never taken on an army of hydralisks or another M&M ball.

I enjoy using siege tanks against Zerg and people who do m&m balls. They just need to reduce the food used down to 2 from 3. But alas I am not a top level player and have no replays to prove my crazy theory so I will just end it here.

I still think marauaders should have a serious nerf. It's stupid when every ZvT turns into a marauder medivac ball vs. lings roaches hydra and infestor (wtf?).
The only real upside to the Terran players who do this is you can spire tech nicely, but the time it takes to get that far you can't just be undefended until the spire pops.

I find it odd tanks have no bonus damage against armored in their siege mode. I think versus a group of protoss units you should rarely use siege modes in reasonably early game attacks in open field. Siege mode is still useful, but it doesn't have such a distinct advantage over tank mode as before. I've hoped siege mode would get a +10 damage to armored for a while because of this. (I mean, a siege unit should deal more damage to buildings)

I think 3 food for Siege Tanks is more balanced..even though I would want a buff for Tanks haha. Just look at the other units in the game that have 2 food: Hydralisks, Maurauders, Stalkers. Siege Tanks can kill a bunch of them.

Blizzard has said multiple times they want the tank to be more of a support unit, and not a unit you mass. That's why they are more expensive, more food, and more powerful than their brood war counterparts (siege mode is 13 range, does 60 damage against EVERYTHING, and the regular mode does 25 vs armor at high DPS).
If you ever catch your opponents army in a choke with 4-5 tanks, their entire army evaporates. Its insane. Especially with shift queue micro allowing perfect tank shots and damage spread.

Tanks are already insanely good. I can't imagine them being any cheaper or stronger. They will just be spammed.
I hate the marauder from a design perspective, but don't think they are unbalanced. They are just boring units that don't really fit with terran.
P.S. All unit costs and mana costs in this game will be in increments of 25. This means there will never be something that costs 35 gas, ever.

Tanks are really fucking good, it's just that marauders are ridiculously imbalanced in every single way, why would terrans not build them?

My change would be: Decrease Basedamage of Rauders by 2 and increase Bonus against Armored by 2. Makes Rines more usefull. Tanks are fine.

Rines aren't all that useful right now because Tanks and colossi/storm completely nullify marines, and marines aren't very good against roaches. It really has nothing to do with the marauder.

I'd just like to point out that OP has 7 posts and 2 of them are OPs about balance changes he just pulls out of his ass and is like "hey TL look at my idea."
This forum should not look like the blizzard bnet forum.
And to keep this from seeming trollish: Marauders should get an armor reduction to 0. That's all I'd want to see.

Noone wants this thread to continue- since these are arbitrary balance changes with no thought or reaserch put into them at all. Forum rules CLEARLY state this thread should have been closed hours ago instead of encouraging a pointless discussion that will ultimatly have no effect ever on starcraft 2, ever.
Players use both marauders and tanks in cheesy, and non cheesey manners. Nerfing one unit to make it uncheezable while making the other not better at all (who would even knowtice the hp buff on tanks, really?).
PS: Its a friday, and this thread is actually making me angry. Why? IDK... but I seethe with fury at it's existance.
