maybe my selfless act will work its reverse psychology and grant me a key in the process. i have a few friends would said they'd send me an invite if a new friend invite wave came. so maybe that'll happen soon.
seams like a better chance betting some trickery in the tricky thread, than drowning with everyone else playing the afk game Show nested quote +On April 17 2010 15:10 milo wrote: It's a trick! i have no idea what this "certain number" is, Hot_Bid wants to reach. but i really don't think that this is going to happen...
i think a lot of the listed people here think, that if they don't cross themselves out, the keys will go back to TL and there will be another chance to win them in a different contest in the future. if they withdraw and the keys are spread the way it was meant to be in this competition, the keys are gone for them and who knows, if TL gets another bunch of keys to give away.

While I don't condone experimenting with human-beings just for the kicks of: "what will they do if we put them in this situation...?", I cannot deny that this is PURE ART. Take it as a sarcastic comment on the reality genre in general, the self-fixated western culture and the hype of a videogame, but for goodness sake don't take as a contest for a beta-key, because then it's sick and disgusting.

Really there was no real way self-nominates would get keys, you can't ruin smthing which is already broken. They will just get distributed among someones more worthy.

It should be apparent by now that not enough people will pull out and noone will get a key. What will happen with the "few" keys that will not be given away here?

I'll break it down for everyone. Noone's gonna get a key. This thread, however, is a chance for you to redeem yourself. It's funny yet embarassing to see how many people don't understand and are even posting about how they are not gonna withdraw. The fiery flames of nerdhell await boys...

sigh I only self nominated cause you guys asked if u missed any vets ;(
Anyways cross me off the list I don't contribute anything good anyway
edit- This is pretty funny idea though rofl

This. I'd love for this to be a giant troll to call out everyone who nominated themselves with no contribution to the community.

This thread is such a good idea, really enjoying this after reading some of those self-nominations (it was almost as bad as the comments on facebook).
Let's face it, no one is getting a key. We all know there's going to be many <50 post members that will stick in it till the end.
The people who crossed their names off the list shouldn't get a key either. Everyone probably realize what's going to happen, there's nothing for them to lose by crossing their names of the list, some of them probably did so thinking it could be some reverse psychology thing.
The funny thing is, the only people that have any chance of getting a key (as in the ones being left on the list) are the ones that are the least deserving of a key, as they'll be the 1-post people.

Well the certain number MUST be 10 or less, since only 10 are being given away to nominees. And since some are probably going to those who were nominated by others.
It's definitely not going to happen.
E: Yeah, so essentially those that are posting that it's an opportunity to present yourself as less selfish are right.

For those who doubt my intentions: StarCraft commentaries in Filipino Philippine SC1 Tourney - This one's currently running and this is where the betakey will be used. I may raffle it among the participants or whatever.

I didn't even know you could nominate yourself. If I had known I'd probably done it, even though I don't like the idea. However I totally deserve a key, I've waited for SC2 as long as anybody. Played starcraft for 10 years, created tons of maps and teached alot of players the game - not just the ingame but mind games. Atleast I've done something notable for the community, like I started playing seriously on iccup and streamed my games up to B-. Now I've been pretty much on hold since the first beta keys were out, not playing any starcraft and not even watching half the vods I used to. I love playing starcraft seriously and I want to continue doing so on SC2, probably for another 10 years or more. Now I haven't complained much about not getting a key even though alot of RL friends got keys and they don't even play starcraft the way I do. Sure I've made small posts on tl like "gif key plxx" but that's just as a joke. If blizzard wants me to wait for the game to come out for me to play it... so be it, I can wait (and wait and wait and...)

I just saw this thread after i came back from a party... I am just curious but arent over half those ppl with new accounts or something? I know alot of ppl bashed on others for self nominating but i believe that some people actually had good reason to nominate themselves while the majority of people were just complete arrogant douche bags. so hot_bid do what you will. because it really seems like no matter how many ppl drop out the number of ppl left over (due to mostly new posters) wont get one anyway. either way, congrats to everyone that gets a key, gl and hf gaming. peace.
EDIT: tbh all of the 1 post members that made accounts especially for this thread should imo be perma banned becus they were simply flooding the thread with nonsense.

No, actually I have 2 keys and I'm enjoying this thread.
Edit: PM me for replays of my Makica account on the American server.
Edit 2: I don't think anyone will really be humiliated, there are too many names to remember them all!

There's a limited amount of keys and the whole point of the contest is to find out who's the most deserving. The idea is to self-nominate if you think you deserve it.
So why do you deserve it? What have you done to deserve it more than a hundred other people?
What you're saying is you did it because a 0.0001% is better than 0%. This isn't a fucking lottery contest. Others deserve it more than you and you know it.
